I like Stefan Jensen. He is really a "tv-persona" - all productions he is in hes just brilliant. Put him with Bauer and/or Bergman and that just equals brilliant fly fishing tv.
Salmon fishing make me crazy... Very good video, too short ! The river look like some river i fish in Ireland, really pretty ! Hopefully one day i will come in Danemark Sweden or Norway to catch one of this giant ...
Is it covid that has prevented any new videos from being made? I hope more stuff is on the way eventually, I miss these videos - by far the best fly fishing content out there.
Man what a great video that's a perfect example of the camaraderie that comes out of fly fishing! Awesome teamwork through victory and defeat! I fly fish Colorado like a maniac but no steelhead here. sure would like to make it out to someplace like that someday, really enjoyed this video thanks again guys!
Hi Gentlemans , please next great Flyfishing video :-) Great work, you are getting us all there with that stunning quality of the vids. Thank you . Greetings from Slovakia.
Even though this isn't even the same country as me, I feel like I learn so much from this channel and it's only right that I pass along what I learn through my channel! Thanks for the inspiration guys🤙🎣
Here in north america for chinook, coho, pink, sockeye, chum, steelhead etc its 99% single and single barbless (in places like b, c its the law).. You get a deeper set +hold because all the force is into a single point (though you miss a grab here and there. though its not often). I've heard doubles, trebles never caught on in the past when stocks were great, because those fish tend to have a bit harder mouths then atlantic salmon. Were lucky because this way they avoided becoming part of the culture+history of pacific steehead+salmon on the fly... when your wild, native fish stocks are in peril like ours. cool to see you endorse them
Knowing the river is the most important clue to success. That's why I always recommend having a guide when the first time on a new river. Whenever in you fish Switzerland, do not hestiate to contact me- I'll help you.
One of my favorite tactics is not paying attention . Just looking at the river , trees , surrounding landscape and BANG . Another good tactic is make a bad cast , pick up to recast and BANG . Or the conventional way good cast , good drift , BANG . All seem to work The tug is the drug :-)
Fly fishing is a world, possible to catch every fish on it, from tiny fishes to great sharks. But this is really good to begin: ua-cam.com/video/qS4zoUMfdEQ/v-deo.html or for basics for pike fly fishing one of my favorite, because it allows us to take monster fishes (my personal pb is actually 115 cm for a little more than 10 kilos in Sweden) on fly rods, completely different than with casting rods what are considerably more stiff. : ua-cam.com/video/fT8_iYswfI0/v-deo.html A little squeeze on basics for pike fly casting, it is not the same as use a small dry fly, here we talk about a real chicken of sometimes more than 30 cm long, in the wind and sometimes more difficult conditions. This is a fantastic introduction: ua-cam.com/video/Hla284rqKwE/v-deo.html and if you want more explanation to modern way to fish there are also the introduction of nymph fishing (salmonids eats more than 80% than there food underwater not on the top as think often). ua-cam.com/video/DsK8wM9NqHQ/v-deo.html I hope that answer to your question. All the best, and fly or die!
thanks for the great video again man, normally i would be in denmark right now and would fish on Skjern A, but because of this stupid corona virus the borders are tight and i am at home on the computer instead :( ... wish you all the best... greetings from germany
That's the name of the game, salmon fishing, and sometimes they get off. Its called getting off the hook. But you got some nice fish. Something's always better than nothing.
This is much different compared to the salmon I’m used to fishing in New York. During the salmon run, you can barely find a spot to fish without a random person within 10 feet of you
I'd stay home. I really can't handle "sloppy second fishing" - fishing to fish, who have seen 100 lures or flies, before they "fall for my genius" - as if it's anything at all but luck those places.
Lol I fished a whole week at the Sneum å and never caught one, except one decent seatrout around 60cm. Saw plenty getting caught and seem them in the river myself. But no luck :(
I know its kinda old video, but maybe someone will see my comment. What landing net are they using? I am looking for something similar, in order to use it from the shore, and also boat. Propably fishing for pike, and salmon maybe
So, what line setup are you using here? Skagit in what grain, and what kind of tips in what lenghts? Love the videos, this one especially, keep them coming!
Any grain skagit will do almost the same job. The grain matters way in regards to rod your using and your preferred casting weight. sure a heavier head may land slightly louder but a skagit is already really loud. You try to avoid them if presentation is really key His rod seen at 5:30 is a 7 weight 12.8 it calls for 520 grain skagit head. This also means he needs around 132, 140 graintips - i.e 10 feet of t-14 or a heavy m.o.w tip or 140 grain opst type tip... 10-12.5 feet .. From what i saw i'd use a heavy mow with a mix of 7.5 feet of sink+ 2.5 feet float or intermediate or use a type 6 sink tip of 140 grains .... If i didn't hang up every now and then i'd increase the tip or fly weight. Coming from the west coast of canada we fish mostly skagit 9 months of the year.
Hi @kanalgratisdotse Can you recommend an online resource (if any) where one can learn about seasons, rules and areas for fishing in Denmark for Salmon? Thanks in advance
You can't use Sturdy's scale on a male with a hook - the hook adds cms to the "real" lenght, and the fish has probably lost lots of weight. I once saw a guy catch one like that, that was 103 cm - weighed 9.25 kg. The angler kept on saying: "There has to be something wrong with the weight at the store" - a very acurate "butchers weight.
What they fail to mention is that the Salmon are all hatchery bred, there is not a natural run of Atlantic Salmon in Denmark , so every year millions and millions of tax money is pumped into an artificial run of Salmon for the benefit of a few Sportsfisherman , its the same with Sea Trout and Turbot.
That is not right. infact Danish salmon population is one of the only populations to rise from the dead! all the world could learn from our work from just a few individuals found in a tributary to the Skjern å - original danish salmon DNA only left in north western continental europe. the only population/family DNA that survived and was introduced to the other salmon bearing rivers in Jutland and infact also northern germany.
I like Stefan Jensen. He is really a "tv-persona" - all productions he is in hes just brilliant. Put him with Bauer and/or Bergman and that just equals brilliant fly fishing tv.
the shot with the rainbow in the background as youre holding that tank was beautiful
How can you not just love the Danish rivers!! Awesome, hope to be back this year!
Danke für das tolle Video über das Fliegenfischen in Dänemark, mega drill wunder schöne Fische und schöne aufnahmen vom Fluß,danke Stefan und Kim.
What a good video! It was joy to watch your both. Your approach for fishing. And respect for salmon.
Maybe it’s time to try fishing in Denmark. Just living 20km from the bridge. We just have to wait on the Corona to pass over.
Ein sehr interessantes Video, was lehrreich und die tiefe Verbundenheit mit der Natur und den Fischen aufzeigte. Tak.

First time I have watched one of your videos; very enjoyable. Keep up the good work and many more tight lines
Really good video and experience! Great fishing amigos! 👏👏👏
Love the single, barbless hooks ! They definitely take a bit to get used to but heaps of benefits for the fish

Stay healthy! The winds will change one day, and the salmon will be there for another time :)
holy crap! the hook on that jaw is crazy.

7# 12.8 feet

Great video
Wow look at that 146 cm salmon. Must have been a 30 kg fish at one point.
Errr what? It was maybe 80 cm and 6kg. Is that your " fisherman's tale" ?

Good vidéo and very emotions.
The rod vibration looks like they're 15 pound flies!!
Are those 8 wt rods?
Can you do a video how to cast specialy ?
There is video that shows how to cast two handed fly rod, search for it in Kanalgratis
Very nice 👍
Some segments in the video are stamped not adjacent to each other
