    Presenter is brilliant. No stupid corny jokes or childish rubbish like you get on a lot of UA-cam channels now. This guy is just cool, calm and collected and focussing on the fishing. BRAVO!

    You made a really impressive film. Absolutly stunning. And I love the handling of the fish. No unnecessary time out of the water for filming or photos. Thats how it should be made. Thx for that awesome film.

    Strange, although I’m living far from any Salmon River in Switzerland, Salmon Flyfishing is since over 30 years my passion who inspires me every day, nevertheless I can only afford being 2 weeks in Norway, fishing Gaula and Stjördal River. In meantime your very informative Video Clips help me to „survive‘‘ the other 11 month without Salmon fishing.
    One last thing, I am wondering if you can do me a faviour and tell me, what kind of tip and the leader length you fish with your Skagit-line, when you dead drift a weighted Frances Fly thru a pool like showed in this Video.
    Thank you for your effort to show us your Salmon fishing style.
    Tight-lines,
    Stefan

    watching these vids in offseason is literal torture, been fishing salmon on the westcoast of Norway since i was 6 years old, but ive only recently gotten into flyfishing. Sadly have a ton of exams in the 3 first weeks of this season, but after that its time for some weeks of fishing. Im literally so stoked! (gotta do a lot of CNR with all these quotas though)

Raises fishing with this material and respecting the catch to the highest possible level .. very instructive and extraordinarily beautiful 🍀

    Very good video, awesome skills on releasing your fish, not traumatizing for the fish at all. Those last 2 fish were pretty big, and in that kind of current are definitely a handful on any tackle. I fish for Kings here in Ontario and it can be pretty Epic at times, especially in faster water.

    Ok, at 18.56, he strips in line, the fish takes and he lifts into it. When drifting the fly round the recommendation is to wait until you feel the weight of the fish before lifting. Presumably, when stripping, the fish will feel the resistance immediately and so one should lift quickly? Any views on how to hook well when stripping in?
    These are great movies - lots of information! Thanks.

    Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

    • @Visionflyfishing
      @Visionflyfishing 6 років тому +2

      magnusSES is correct. It's the REC guides under pressure that we use on our XO DH rods. They're light, durable and we get the most out of the blank with these guides. And that sweet sound comes with the deal.
