    Great movie and hats off to Antti for handling every fish with care.

    Congratulations. Very nice to see the fish treated sympathetically, carefully handled and returned with a minimum of stress. A fine example.

      especially when the fish just went through the caching process, id liek to hold the head of some ''fishing youtubers'' underwater for the amount of time they have the fish on land

    Please start a petition. I would be glad to sign it. Why must greed come first over the wellbeing of the planet or the creatures that live on it. By the way very good video. Keep them coming.

    I got a 2 handed rod because of videos like this.... it wasn't cheap and I tried it twice and that was it. Because of this video I'm going to try again, wish me luck both in finding the rod and learning to cast it.

      I had one years ago and had the same problem. I bought another one last year and gave it an honest effort. I can now cast. Not well, but I can't work my way through a pool without completely embarrassing myself. Keep at it! I found it easier to start with a skagit setup.

    Can never understand why right handed anglers need to wind with their right hand as it means they have to change hands and end up playing powerful fish with their weaker left arm. Nice video all the same.

      There is still time. I just got my first twohanded salmon rod last year and the transition from a onehanded rod was easy in terms of casting. It is really fun! If I find myself with spare money my next rod would be a light twohander for trout.

    Minig sucks! Also the river Kitka at the grayling nymph fishing episode is under of shadow of an mining industry. And local people don't even want it there!

    • @matdoherty7814
      @matdoherty7814 5 років тому

      Mining is an inconvenient necessity. I completely understand the opposition as well the potential environmental impacts. However, the device you used to enjoy and comment on this video is a product of mining as well as the fly fishing gear we all use, the cars we drive, the money in our pockets. There is truth to the slogan, "if it can't be grown it must be mined" I'm certainly not for all mines. There are plenty that are wrong place, wrong mine for absolute certain. I just feel like a blanket anti mining statement is both short sighted and ultimately not helpful. To be clear I am by no means advocating for whatever mine is going in here, I am simply stating that the "Mining sucks!" statement is sweeping and hypocritical.

    • @roimari
      @roimari 5 років тому

      @@matdoherty7814 So because we need it it's ok to ruin our environment? Well don't we need our environment too? Water? Soil? For living we don't need these leisure devices. And there is thing called minerals recycling. With mining we make eco catastrofies. And those suck deep. Your statement is hypocricital because you claim that it's ok to mine because some leisure products you need are produced by mining. You can and will find recycled fishing product's. And still if I use some products still it doesn't make my thoughts about mining hypocricital. It's hypocricital to claim someone else is hypocricital and for that I'm proud to say you are. Leisure product using cityboy.

    • @matdoherty7814
      @matdoherty7814 5 років тому

      Olof ok. I’ll be a little clearer. First off, I’m not a city boy, I live in a pretty small town in Alaska. I also am not saying it’s ok to ruin our environment either. What I was pointing out was merely mining is something folks tend to complain about, yet pretty much everyone enjoys the end product of. Sure, our electronic devices are leisure products, but there are lots of thing mining produces that are not for leisure. The reasoning I pointed out electronic devices was because you were saying how bad it is while using a product of. Never did I advocate environmental destruction, in fact I acknowledged mining’s problems there. I believe it was the first or second sentence. I’m actually a big fan of recycling and repurposing things. I’m also a fly fisherman. I’m not quite sure where you were going with the hypocrisy retort at the end so we will just put that to rest I guess. I’m just trying to be clear, I’m not some villain who wants to destroy the environment. I just was trying to point out that mining is an ugly necessity. Not all mines are good for every area, but we do need the products that are extracted from the process, and no, not I’m not speaking of leisure items.

      Maybe for grayling the size 14 but for a salmon its way too small but of course you fish for under 30cm salmon the 14 size hook is perfect
