I am proud to say that i have a very slight connection to Chaplin . In the year 1907 , Chaplin lived in Pullen s Buildings , in the Elephant And Castle district of South London . He was 18 at the time . In 1952 until 1956 i lived in the same block of flats . For all i know it could have been the same address that i would live in 45 years later .
How wonderful to see a truly magificent and timeless talent like Chaplin being watched by so many in 2020.
Here we are near the end of 2020, and I never knew of this magnificent piece of work. How has this happened?
Whenever you have bored you should watch only CHARLY CHAPLIN.👍
Die wichtigste und genialste Ansprache die je in einem Film gemacht wurde.....vielleicht überhaupt je gemacht wurde. Und sie ist aktueller denn je......
Must add my adoration of his genius .. he was intelligent on many levels and a sensitive soul. I'm travelling and his autobiography is keeping me company, then watching his movies on youtube bringing him / his work alive. Extroardinary how popular he was at a time way before FB and instagram and such. Crowds of 20, 30 , 40 000 pple awaited him anywhere he went. They would be dressed up like the tramp ... a whole crowd.
And he seems to have known everybody of any significance in his era... while he never forgot where he came from ... extroardinary man and legacy... timeless
What an entrance to “talkies”. Couldn’t have done better
A Masterpiece in film history
Everybody gangsta until Charlie Chaplin takes his hat off
Masterpiece of film.
2021 anyone?
This is a wonderful movie and it was a very powerful movie in 1940. Chaplin did not disappoint
An egg in the face of 'dolf at the pinnacle of his glory.
Hiii
An absolute legend 😍
Charlie war einfach genial
This movie was so funny but it's sad that people today have forgotten him and forgotten the message behind this movie as well as the message of the speech
fear not, classes are taught every year about Chaplin and his incredible career
@@notenoughsoup lol, forgotten his speech...

Is this where the minions stole the idea of da banana? 🤣🤣
For Americans it is still entertainment.
By 1939, not talking 1940, Hitler was already becoming despised. His breaking the Munich Agreement and later invading Poland made him very unpopular outside of Germany. A few years earlier he would have been right but by 1938-1939 Hitler was already on his way down in popularity outside of Germany.
A great piece. Master art. Good work
Indo like!!
9:13 the banana😂
Muy buena
It's even funnier once you have learned German.
So Charlie was a prophet
Ohh yes
He pretty much knew what was going to happen
Who is watching in 2019
2020
@@cesisigudu1030 yes lol
2020
2020!
A masterpiece of film. Costa Gavras looks like George Bush. 😂
People were so classy then! Amazing to see the cultural change over 100 years. Yes we are living in a shitty time
1940 was Bad for many, many people.
扮獨裁。唯肖唯妙。傳神。好演員。
Hello 2021
2020
Charlie Chaplin looks like a younger Steve Martin.
Chaplin showed the vision of Steve Jobs with the timing of this movie when nobody else in Hollywood wanted it made.
Poison gas was a big thing in WW1 so talking about it doesnt prelude to anything visionary for the future. What would've been visionary if he didnt speak of any poison gas at all. Even Hitler was almost killed from poison gas in WW1.
I was thinking the same thing
The wall
The three. Stooges also made a anti Hitler movie
He is STILL trying to get America to do the right thing...with this film and his words which are timeless. Share the final #UNITE speech EVERYWHERE TODAY. And please Vote for Biden...❤️🇺🇸.
I'm not a native English language speaker, but he saying in this speech about democracy. Democracy is freedom of choices, so don't tell people how to vote.

I wonder if Hitler saw this film.
yes he did
twice. He apparently screened it for his cronies... like... wut?
Saw this 30 years ago and laughed my butt off. If I remember right it was like the prince and the pauper in switching roles but accidently not purposefully. The globe scene was funny to me with the butt and and world balloon and the laurel and hardy type gags. A genius of his time. I didn't subscribe to the "Comrades of the world unite!", endorsing communist ideology, but the rest was great.
Thank God they did no have media back then, to tell them what to think!
😆😆😆😆😆
Who is stalin?
russian leader (dictator with blood hands up to elbows) from 1924 to 1953...
Banana😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Those who thumbed down this documentary have fascist tendencies.
Ok, what s wrong with that? If you can accept communists, then you should accept ultranationalists too.
Lol.
