  • This was a DIY ecosystem pond. Our client was able to dig out the whole pond when he decided it was time to call PondscapesAz. We came in to help construct the perfect pond for this family. This pond is perfect for the tropical paradise they are going to have complete with a putting green! This ecosystem pond has some great upgrades including circulation jets, aeration and an intake bay. The homeowners are going to be able to sit on their patio and relax while watching the fish and listening to the relaxing sound of the waterfall.
    PondscapesAz is located in Queen Creek (Maricopa County), Az (Arizona). We specialize in maintenance and construction of backyard fish ponds, boulder waterfalls, fountainscapes, decorative water features, natural looking koi ponds, koi fish ponds and outdoor goldfish ponds for backyard landscapes.

    Nice project! Just have a when you install a wetland filter do you still need a skimmer? Since the bio box suck in all the fish waste and other stuffs and the water pump suck all the water to the waterfall. It’s same as skimmer.

    Do you have to worry about the earth edges on the walls collapsing? Or do they hold themselves up when full?

    • @pondscapesaz
      @pondscapesaz  3 роки тому

      No issues to worry about when rock work is built inside of the excavation and back filled tightly.

    Hi you do great work. Keep it up.. I have a question on wetland filters. I am enlarging my fish pond by 21 x 23. I have a pond already which is 8 x 28 and adding the 21 x 23 to it. I wanted to find out if I can have the wetland filter water level even with the pond itself. Not higher than the pond. In other words being part of the pond like a small bay. The water from the wetland would still flow up though the 3 layers of gravel like it should with a wetland filter but there would be pond water from the pond already on top of the gravel mixing with the water flow coming up though the wetland. There would be 8 inches in depth of pond water over the wetland filter. I also wanted to do it this way so the fish can come into that part of the pond. I know most use a water fall or a stream to flow back into the pond but I was wondering if this would work.

    • @pondscapesaz
      @pondscapesaz  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, this can absolutely work. I would be sure to have some source of aeration and circulation if you have not already considered it. Sounds like a fun project 👍

    Biofalls with intake bay setup? What size biofalls? Also where did you get the aerator/bubbles? What is the name of Aerator? Apprx How many gallons is the pond? Also how many aquabloxs in the intake? And what size pump? Thank you. Built many koi ponds but next week we start at Swim pond. Can't decide if I should do intake/ wetlands or biofalls/ intake bay.

    • @pondscapesaz
      @pondscapesaz  3 роки тому +1

      Aquascape biofalls 6000, Aquascape Pro60 aeration, approx 3k gallons, 6 small aquablox, waterfall is a 9PL pump, good luck on the pond build 👍

    • @MrDraper38
      @MrDraper38 3 роки тому

      @@pondscapesaz thank you. Do you think I should do the 6000 biofalls or a wetlands. They plan well the one grandkid plans to swim in it. Not much room for a wetlands and they are screening it in.

    • @pondscapesaz
      @pondscapesaz  3 роки тому

      @@MrDraper38 All depends on how much space you have to work with and how many gallons the pond will be. Sounds like a wetlands is not gonna be an option in this scenario.
