Gluing blocks instead of cement. Must be pretty powerful stuff but how long will it last 🤔 Still surprises me the effort & expense people go to though just for gold fish. Koi i get it. But gold fish that could just as happily live in a bowl 🤷‍♂️ And why on earth pay to heat the water.

Several years ago I built a water feature for our back yard. I used stones I had dug up from a little excavation I had done for the waterfall. I made it about four feet high and so it would fall into a small pool. The water would flow from there by a little stream to another small pool sitting a little lower than the upper pool. Watching yours and others videos about building water features, I see some mistakes I made. I didn't backfill the liner enough in places along the stream bed and didn't remove enough grass along the sides. The grass wound up growing over the sides and into the stream causing excess water loss. Turned out pretty nice and looked fairly natural. But a few years ago I added some river and pond pebbles. Then started having algae growing in and have had to continually pull it out. It's a hair or string like algae. Not a big problem, just had to keep scooping it out. It's about like a clog of hair in a sink drain. Yuk. lol. Good video and very nice waterfall you guys made.

How well does the intake bay filter the water with no filter pad? If the gunk collects there, how do you clean it out without a removable filter pad?

Magnificent. I didnt see a bog filter so wondering how algae bloom is dealt with.

Would have been much better if it was about 3' wider and longer and a little bit louder. It was barely visible from the living room.

How did you get the water to flow out thr hydrant. We have a hydrant and want to do the same trickle flow out of it into a pond less rock base.

Hey Ralph, this was one of my favorite waterfalls! Would you mind sharing, the types of rocks you used? I’m ready to start on my waterfall and as I visit places that sell boulders and gravel for landscaping, I have no knowledge of the types of rocks that don’t stand up well against water, and which ones (like the ones used in this project) have no problem with water! Thank you, keep up the beautiful work, you’re inspiring people to create a space of peace, and what’s better than that?

Why dont you use cement concrete inside since you already have block wall instead liner and another block wall inside, i just wonder what is the advantage? Thanks

I haven't been to that city since '91. I'll never forget, I stopped at a gas station near there and the pumps were at least 150 feet away from the store where you would pay. Being from southern commie-fornia, I was used too paying first and then pumping for the gas. The attendant told me to pump first and then come back and pay for it. I asked him, "people actually do that there????" Wow.
