I just bought this pan in 2022 from Walmart. I was skeptical that this pan could cook a 15 pound turkey in 2 hours. I put veggies in the bottom and placed butter and herbs on top and some under the skin. I cooked it for 2 hours on 375 degrees and it came out amazing! Moist on the inside and crisp on the outside. The juices in the bottom made awesome gravy with all of the veggies juices to add the extra flavor. Super happy with this pan and this video that helped me out!

I have been roasting turkey and chickens in one of these pans for 40 years. Love the pan, best purchase ever! I don't use a rack

Granite-ware, you are a life-saver! My best turkey in my whole life was made in this roaster. It was the most delicious turkey, and the recipe was a cheesecloth turkey. I baked it without the lid because the turkey was too big. I have done other turkeys in different kinds of roasters but none like the cooked in the granite-ware. I came to the conclusion that this roaster has the perfect hight to roast the turkey. If it is too shallow the turkey is too dried and if it is too high the turkey steams, I done it both ways--a disaster!

This roaster is better than cast iron because of shorter baking time. The lid is a big advantage.

I'm using a covered roasting pan but didn't watch the video till I had already placed the turkey in the oven, but I set the temperature at 350 for 2 hrs for a 5 pound turkey breast.
I will let you know how it turns out.

Read my post---you will leak your toes. A complete success. Martha Stewart has a cheesecloth recipe in her archives, it is the best recipe. It requires to brine the turkey. But at the end the turkey has toasted golden skin and juicy --well done meat. And the flavor....don't tell me!

Made in USA. You will love it. No water necessary. Put it breast down and it will be so moist. Use Herbes de Provinces. Cheers.

What do you do with all the veggies at the bottom? They should be mushy enough to blend into a gravy?

We either just scoop them out and serve them (yes, they're very soft, but tasty!) or puree them into a gravy.

Purée into a gravy. I use a little cognac or brandy while cooking and the taste is out of this world.

Apparently, Granite Ware is now made in Mexico, according to provided information on Amazon.

😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 400 degrees for the entire -- UNSPECIFIED! -- cooking time? That's crazy! Every other reference for covered roasters, Graniteware and otherwise, instruct dropping oven temp to 325 degrees after the first 30 minutes. I gave little confidence in your method, guy.

Well. 2024. I bought this pan from Walmart. It would not hold my 12 lb turkey with the lid on. I tried it with and without the vegetables and the lid was 2 inches from closing. Instead , I covered and sealed it with foil. My turkey was dry as usual but it did cook in only 2 hours. One lady states that she was able to cook a 15 lb but I dont know how. I will say the quality of the pan is excellent. Do not buy the Amazon knock off brand. Walmart was actually less in price for this name brand. Sorry it was sold and went to Mexico.
