If all the villains from the pervious movies cameoed together in one scene that would've been the one of greatest scenes in film history! Nicholson, Pfeiffer, Devito, (maybe) Walken, Jones, Carrey, Thurman, and Schwarzenegger all in one scene together, but money, egos, and scheduling prevented it from happening!
Both Schwarzenegger and Carrey's then-salaries were a still-astronomical $20 million per film during the second half of the nineties (Carrey, in particular, had cinched a $20 million paycheck for "The Cable Guy"), and Nicholson would've had a clause added to his contract guaranteeing a percentage of the merchandising deals that were more than likely going to occur in order to coincide with the release of "Batman Triumphant" (similar to his initial contract for Burton's '89 Bat-film); Nicholson had already pocketed between $50 and $60 million for the '89 film. And it's unlikely Tommy Lee Jones would've reprised the role of Harvey "Two-Face" Dent due to his animosity--and utter disdain--towards Carrey during the filming of "Batman Forever," so I would've envisioned Billy Dee Williams portraying the disfigured former district attorney in "Batman Triumphant," albeit for only a few minutes.
Any time there was a Manbat/Francine bit, I audibly went "Awww", which takes a lot of talent to make me do. This really sounds more like an episode of the animated series than a full on movie, though. I'm not sure what the audience reaction would've been to the movie ending in a barn rather than...um...anywhere else.
There is an alleged script for Batman Unchained floating around the internet, but I doubt its validity seeing that A. Its titled Batman Triumphant and B. It does not not line up with the information we know on that script. E.G. 1. Harley is not a toy maker, she was a jester for Haley's Circus who grew up with Dick. (There's inkling's of an attracton between them). 2. She was not Joker's daughter, she was a girl with a really unhealthy obsession with him. 3. No scene at all with the villains returning. No Two-Face, no Riddler, no Catwoman, no Penguin and no Joker. 4. Batman does not get locked in Arkham Asylum or even has any real arc, movie does not end with him conquering his fear and letting the Bat's swarm him. 5. Scarecrow's backstory......... There isn't one, one dimensional villain. 6. No Batgirl despite confirmation of her return. 7. In an issue of Wizard magazine, fall of 2000, there was an article promoting Batman 5, believe it or not was titled Batman Unchained. Superman and Lethal Weapons Richard Donner would be the film's director and Mel Gibson would protray the Batman. Filming was to take place in Australia and the villians would be Scarecrow and Harley Quinn, with the return of Jack Nicholson as the 🃏 Joker in a sub conscience battle after Batman inhaled fear gas.
@@aarontaylor2808 they shouldn't have recast Clooney. It feels like a totally different version of Joel's Batman Unchained. But mostly I'd like to see the second draft, Batman: Darknight, it's the one I was referring to.
Take us to the alternate reality where Batman Forever was like the new Batman '89 comic, then have this, though with the Triumphant title, as the fourth film. All directed by Tim Burton. Scarecrow: Brad Dourif ManBat: James Spader
There are no better words to describe the idea of Alex Proyas directing a Batman movie other than it's brilliant. Especially coming off of the success of The Crow and Dark City, his take on Batman 5 would've been a spectral to see.
Batman and Robin have to be in the script. They are spurring ManBat's development as a side character and are the one's sophisticated enough to beat Scarecrow. Plus Robin taking center stage from an aging Batman is great. This handles the Older Batman and Robin relationship much better than Miller.
Here's who I would cast for batman 5,6 and 7 George Clooney as Bruce wayne/batman Chris o donnell as dick grayson/robin Jeff goldblum as scarecrow/jonathan crane Johnny depp as man-bat/kurt langstrom Jennifer Connelly as francine langstrom Batman 6 Martin short as mad hatter Lori petty as harley quinn Batman 7 Kevin grievoux as killer croc Christopher Lee as clayface
51:31 sponsor is over. Don’t know what the younger Millennial crack was at 9:29, but Millennials know Nicolas Cage did serious stuff back in the 90s. Yeah, he did some films in the 90s where he was over the top, but he won an Academy Award in 1996 for Leaving Las Vegas and had more dramatic roles up to that point. The 2000s is when he really amped up the over the top nature of his acting when taking on other films. I can see why Nicolas Cage was looked at to be Scarecrow at this time. Whether he would have been good is another thing, but I don’t think it’s hard to imagine him being in discussion for the role. Makes me wonder what this film would have been like had Schumacher been able to make the fifth Batman film even with Batman & Robin’s failure. Maybe it would have been good. Maybe it would have been bloated and bad. We’ll never know, at least not until the script ever gets leaked at some point so we can actually see what was in it rather than going off of interviews of what people involved in it said before it was canned. Though if Batman & Robin didn’t bomb, we may not have gotten Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, so perhaps things went the best way in the end. Who knows. This is one of those what ifs that we can talk about, but never know. This other script of Batman: DarKnight sounds like it could have been good, but again we’ll never know if it would have been executed well.
@@SuperHousePodcast are you going to be talked about the script that that was leaked? Because technically that is not Walker's draft. The script that went online was re-written by Akiva Goldsman.
@@guillermoproano1164 We'll cover what Walker said about it (like we did with Protosevich and Batman Unchained here). Then cover the leaked Goldsman draft. Unless Walker's draft ends up getting leaked to read by then.
I also heard a small rumour if that movie was better and have good support that will have being a 6 Batman movie call Batman Glorious Final with Killer Krog , Hugo Strange reviving the Joker of Jack Nicholson with Dick being Nitwing this time , Batgirl , Tim Drake and Bruce Wayne as Batman but this was not going to be George Clooney being the protagonist was going to be Michael Keaton returning as Batman and doing it for the 3rd time to end the saga in 2002 it was going to be directed by Joel Shumacer.
It may have been when they were casting for Begins but I remember Steve Buscemi being thrown out there for Scarecrow and I believe he would have been a perfect match cuz hes got that creepy look to him. He stole every scene in con air as the crazy serial killer. Also...Cameron Diaz? Really? Totally should have been brittany murphy (RIP). Ron Perlman should have been clayface as well. Would have been a nice shout out to fans of BTAS and the most well known version of clayface played by the original voice actor. We already see that perlman could handle make up in Hellboy so I'm sure he would do good with wearing a suit for clayface....but I think the character would primarily be cgi like the T1000.
Going through this whole series, so much fun. Thanks. Also Scarecrow debuted in 1941 in Worlds Finest #3 Created by Bill Finger and his jerk friend Bob was there.
@Brandon Brooks the studio screwed that up because they wanted a big name for the movie. What I realized about big name actors that means a bigger budget big names don't always mean box office gold look at Batman and Robin. Schwarzenegger got paid more than any other actor on that movie. But yet looking at Spider-Man 2 with Alfa Molina the best of the three Spider-Man Sam Ramey movies , and Alfa Molina was mainly a character actor that I doubt many people knew of because he usually play unassuming roles. Brad dourif would have killed it as scarecrow.
It's a low down dirty crying shame neither "Batman Triumphant" nor (especially) "Batman: DarKnight" was greenlit by the bigwigs at Warner Bros. during the late nineties presumably due to both the critical and public thrashing of "Batman & Robin" that occurred nationwide throughout the summer of '97. I would've loved for Burton in particular to have made his triumphant return to the then-sputtering Batman film franchise to direct the aborted "Batman: DarKnight." (I seriously doubt Burton would've have enticed Keaton to reprise his most famous role for "Batman: DarKnight," though.) It's equally unfortunate Schumacher never had the opportunity to atone for the global backlash "Batman & Robin" had generated. May he continue to rest comfortably in peace...he is still missed. As for fancasting both films, I would've suggested Steve Buscemi for eccentric Gotham University professor Jonathan "Scarecrow" Crane, and Christina Applegate as Harley Quinn. I would've cast Chris Sarandon ("The Princess Bride") as conflicted doctor Kirk "Man-Bat" Langstrom and his real-life wife, Joanna Gleason (daughter of "Let's Make A Deal's" original emcee, the late Monty Hall), as Langstrom's long-suffering physician wife Francine. "Saturday Night Live" alum Martin "Ed Grimley" Short would've definitely been perfect as Jervis "The Mad Hatter" Tetch in the sixth installment, and I could've envisioned Pacino as the Golden Age incarnation of Clayface (a.k.a. Basil Karlo) and Terry Crews ("Everybody Hates Chris") as Killer Croc in part seven. In any case, Clooney and O'Donnell would've both redeemed themselves in the eyes of both critics and die-hard Batfans while delivering compelling, intense performances in all of those unmade films. The less said about Alicia "Batgirl" Silverstone's absence in the franchise, the better. And it's highly likely Pat Hingle and Michael Gough both would've ended up reprising their roles as (respectively) veteran Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon and sardonic Wayne Manor butler Alfred Pennyworth, despite their advancing ages. All in all, this was a highly interesting (and entertaining) video. Thanks for sharing.
Screw it, embrace the fly, Goldblum as Kirk and Gina Davis as francine... or if you really wanna get the horror fans, Brad Dourif scarecrow, and Julian Sands Man-Bat... also as a kid martin short was always my fan cast for mad hatter, and anold for freeze, (i dont know why lol) the one that came true obviously didnt work lmao.. now im real high on the idea of robin Williams as hatter.. and theres a missed opportunity of arnold as bane, imagine commando/dutch in a lucha mask beating batmans ass!
@@trevthomscultclassiccorner2037 spader is a real solid choice!... he could actually work for hatter too, hell, probably even scarecrow depending how they wanna play him.. the only problem with brad is the studio would never go for him sadly... another manbat choice I could see at the time, especially if we are keeping Schumacher and letting him go dark, Keefer Sutherland

If you're referring to this audio drama, the uploader acknowledges that it was fan written: ua-cam.com/video/DnbbevYnZJo/v-deo.html&lc=UgxEySE0WDLCJD59BN94AaABAg
Protosevich said that Harley was meant to be the Joker's daughter (and that it ended with Bruce surrounded by bats), which doesn't match with the fan written scripts/audio dramas online.
@@SuperHousePodcast ohhhhh, thank you for the information, I somehow did not notice that the creator said it was based on a fan project.
Clooney Squadron Batmania just shared this with us on Facebook
Need a hand....I was expecting man-bat giving me a lift
Scarecrow is actually one of Batman's earliest villains, dating all the way back to 1941.
In 1995 on bbc teletext it said the fourth film was going into production and was titled Batman Triumphant. Obviously they did B&R insted.
There is batman unchained that has harley, scarecrow, and mad hatter that was made into a audiobook online. Was it made from the script your talking about ?
If you mean this audio drama, the uploader in the comments section acknowledges that they were working from a fan written script: ua-cam.com/video/DnbbevYnZJo/v-deo.html
I wish they would've made this trilogy happen, better than the Nolan films way interesting, from my perspective.
I like the original script idea, but I also like the second one, too.
This sounds like the best Batman movie ever, I want to see it.
In an issue of Wizard magazine, fall of 2000, there was an article promoting Batman 5, believe it or not was titled Batman Unchained. Superman and Lethal Weapons Richard Donner would be the film's director and Mel Gibson would protray
the Batman.
William Dafoe as Scarecrow
Take us to the alternate reality where Batman Forever was like the new Batman '89 comic, then have this, though with the Triumphant title, as the fourth film. All directed by Tim Burton.
Scarecrow: Brad Dourif
ManBat: James Spader
Aww, shoulda called it a Bat-ground check...
For some reason I could see either them bringing burton back or bringing in alex proyas to direct batman darknight
There are no better words to describe the idea of Alex Proyas directing a Batman movie other than it's brilliant. Especially coming off of the success of The Crow and Dark City, his take on Batman 5 would've been a spectral to see.
@@brandonspain12345 indeed it would be because if it happened it would've been made before I,robot and gods of egypt
Batman and Robin have to be in the script. They are spurring ManBat's development as a side character and are the one's sophisticated enough to beat Scarecrow. Plus Robin taking center stage from an aging Batman is great. This handles the Older Batman and Robin relationship much better than Miller.
Only actor I could think of that could pull off Scarecrow in that time Brad Driof. Not sure if I'm spelling his last name right.
*Dourif
And yes, he would've been the most inspired choice for Crane/Scarecrow. : )
This movie should have been made
It also seems like the paperback book based on the script has gone OOP or disappeared completely. Shame, I would've liked to pick it up.
Here's who I would cast for batman 5,6 and 7
George Clooney as Bruce wayne/batman
Chris o donnell as dick grayson/robin
Jeff goldblum as scarecrow/jonathan crane
Johnny depp as man-bat/kurt langstrom
Jennifer Connelly as francine langstrom
Batman 6
Martin short as mad hatter
Lori petty as harley quinn
Batman 7
Kevin grievoux as killer croc
Christopher Lee as clayface
Lori Petty would've made a fabulous Harley Quinn way back in the nineties!
Can you guys do an episode with Andrew Kevin Walker talking about his original draft for Batman Vs Superman?
It's on the way. We'll be diving into it and comparing it to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice later this year!
I can find the B&R discussion. Can someone link me, please?
I also heard a small rumour if that movie was better and have good support that will have being a 6 Batman movie call Batman Glorious Final with Killer Krog , Hugo Strange reviving the Joker of Jack Nicholson with Dick being Nitwing this time , Batgirl , Tim Drake and Bruce Wayne as Batman but this was not going to be George Clooney being the protagonist was going to be Michael Keaton returning as Batman and doing it for the 3rd time to end the saga in 2002 it was going to be directed by Joel Shumacer.
We Want Batman 5 With Clooney
Clooney should be brought back for this!
Here is our audio drama of this script:
ua-cam.com/video/LqAOpHJn5yg/v-deo.html
Ron Perlman would be great as Clayface.
What’s your problem with bob if it wasn’t for him Batman wouldn’t be here today
Who should play man bat?
I think brad dourif would fit this scarecrow
I Loved Clooney As Batman
this script is awesome!
I dig it, though alternatively we could have James Spader as Langstrom/ManBat.
Dourif would've been the most interesting choice for Crane/Scarecrow.
@@trevthomscultclassiccorner2037 also with this script you can make the triumphant/unchained script still, just change scarecrow in that to hatter, and have the scene where all the past villians show up be while he has bruce under that alt reality device like in the perchance to dream episode, just a thought to get more sequels pumped out 😂
@@KaNCeRmm4life You're probably right. I would've been fine with either Cage or Goldblum as well.
We're piling up a solid list of ManBat choices that I hadn't considered till now, with Sands, Spader, & Sutherland. (attack of the "S" last names, LOL)
Oh certainly, have Mad Hatter played by Robin Williams too & it's legendary instantly. ; )
this is a lot better than Nolan Batman.
Agreed bro👊🏿🤜🏿👊🏿
Yep
I Think Batman Darknight is Better
Batman 5 vilans man bat, mad hatter, kiler croc
Batman:darknight is a very very excellent script I read it and it’s very very excellent WB should’ve used it and make the movie Batman & Robin might’ve been terrible but Batman: darknight would’ve fixed all that 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
I read it too.
@@evanzaremba4722 it’s a very very charming read I like it im just super pissed that it didn’t get made it might’ve been the best Batman movie ever and it might’ve won some awards for best superhero film and it might’ve been a box office smash unlike Batman & Robin but it’s a thing of the past now and all we can do now is hope the next Batman directors use all the characters that the Batman darknight script has
@@chriscarter6157 right. Just like Nolan and Goyer use The Scarecrow in The Dark Knight Trilogy.
@@evanzaremba4722 yeah agreed I pray to god that they use scarecrow and Manbat as the main villains and Robin and Batman too
This is who I would cast Val Kilmer as Batman/ Bruce Wayne Chris o donnell as Robin/ dick Grayson Jeff goldblum as scarecrow and Nicolas cage as dr.Kirk langstrom Linda Hamilton as Francine etc
I don’t think Harley Quinn could have worked in this universe at all after all the joker is dead and her let just isn’t the same without him at all
You know what, people are too obsessed with arcs. McFly and Doc Brown do not have an arc in first BTTF and I don't see anyone complaining about it. Not every character has to have an arc. Batman does not have an arc in Returns, because that movie is about people who unable to change. You know, like in real life. And not every Batman movie should be about Batman too. I agree with Kevin Smith who said about Begins: here's a Batman movie about Batman and Batman is boring.
