I was thinking the same but I think it’s because they are not made for tournaments they’re assassins made to analyze their opponents and find the best way to kill and it makes sense because these two always get sent together

Cyrax and Sector were NEVER intented to fight on the tournament . They were created as assassin robots and were ordered to take down Sub-Zero who had recently betrayed the clan and escaped with Smoke. Smoke was caught and turned into a robot but Subs managed to escape
