US Department of Defense (DOD) initiated the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) program to replace and improve upon the aging Humvee.
JLTV is as much as a technology leap over the Humvee, as the Humvee was to the Jeep-like Ford M151 MUTT before it.

I'm a big fan of Oshkosh. Im restoring one of their old crash trucks! Beautifully engineered. Keep up the good work!
The Humvee is a beast when it functions properly. They're still around, and they have an iconic look, but being stuck at the motor pool isn't the best.

大きく重く高価にすれば当然性能は上がるが、調達コスト、ロジスティックスの負担考えたらハンヴィーと１対１で交換するのは無理がある気がするな。
Does anyone know what a stinceled on Scorpion on some of these are ? Is it a battalion or division mascot ? I have seen several pictures of various US Army vehicles with a painting on Scorpion.. anything from M35 cargo trucks to Humvees to MRAPs to M1A2 Abrams. It's usually on a door with no letters or anything. Just a Scorpion with It's stinger up
There is a 43 scorpion unit, but it’s a military police brigade. Perhaps what you’re looking for?

The Humvee truly has been the essential work horse of the US post Cold War military. Everywhere from Panama to Afghanistan and back it has been. Yes it got a bad rap because of IEDs in Iraq and Afg, something that it was never designed for. And here we are today almost 40 year a later and it still in use and doing its thing

ハンヴィーの問題ってだいぶ前から出てたみたいだけどやっと解決されるんですかね。
ハンビーどころかMRAPすらISSまで吹っ飛ばすほど強力なIED出てきてしもたからなー、改善はされても解決はせんだろうな....
大型砲弾やコレをいくつも束ねたIEDも多いんで、完全に対処しようと思ったら現代戦車並みの走行が必要になっちゃう・・・

そもそも車両開発の違いハンビーはM151の後継で開発され車両、その後多様なハンビーが制作され生産されたので、JLTVとハンビー比較対象にするのは邪推。
余談だが今後アメリカアクション映画で見かけるのはJLTVではなくハンビー。

Sin duda ambos son super guerreros pero en el mundo real si preocupa que el JLTV está más cargado de avances tecnológicos y que en situación de ataques quedé varado y no pueda tener un mejor desempeño que el humvee que es más simple pero lleva decadas en servicio y que ha probado el combate al cien por ciento ,ojalá con el JLTV no sea así y haga una buena carrera en la milicia ,de entrada desde que lo vi impresionó su imagen ruda y de calidad ,así que ojalá sea tan efectivo cono el veterano humvee!!!!!

Nice! Well done, exchanging an overpriced not very capable vehicle for an even more overpriced vehicle that is built around standard vehicle components for a hell of a lot of tax payers money! At least the new version can duck but hardly drive while in duck and cover mode. Made my day!
Do you know of a better vehicle than the JLTV? It's the most capable vehicle the US Army & USMC have ever had. Performance, protection, & off-road mobility.
Knowing the us military when mass production starts half the features on the new oshkosh truck will be deemed unnecessary and taken off. Wouldn't be surprised if they turn it into another humvee with a new skin
Heads up Oshkosh, the international auto industry is shifting towards electric. Alternative energy solutions like hybrid engines or brand new full electric models is highly advisable. These environmentalists have gone nuts with societal changes.
When you’re trying to stay alive….replacing and recharging a god damn battery will take FOREVER. You are an idiot. Unproven technology that’ll make the vehicle 10x as heavy with similar range. Not to mention even less range in cold climates

色んな国が市販車を改造する方法を試したけど、中は狭いわ足周りが弱く車高が低く過ぎるわシャーシか持たないわでダメダメだった。
市販車って思いのほか拡張性がないんですよね。
