Well he was just meant to be not there when Sasuke shines in darkness. And Itachi was part of that idea. Itachi is powerful, but he would absolutely not be able to take on the 5 kage. First of all. The 5 hokage did not even flex really against Sasuke. And Itachi would not last with his Susanoo at all. The normal Susanoo is proven to be damageable by various attacks of the kage. And also fighting the 5 kage Itachi's Susanoo would take huge amounts of damage which Itachi wouldn't able to take, and the Susanoo itself also costs loads of Chakra. So all in all. Itachi would easily be doomed. You need a Minato or first hokage to beat the 5 kage.

@@qtacid-9878 Since we only saw it twice in the entirety of the show we don't know the full extent that the yada mirror can block etc but we can clearly assume that even with the Yada Mirror and Totsuka blade would not be enough to fight someone like Madara. They originally killed him off due to his death being the goal of Sasuke and the anime cancer was to help Sasuke beat him since he otherwise couldn't.

There's one thing you didn't mention: Itachi had one of Shisui's eyes. You know... The eye with insanely powerful mind control that can affect multiple people and thereby make the Kage turn on each other. Even if you assume that he can only mind control one, it is still a huge deal to even the odds
That eye was already programmed by Itachi to cast a genjutsu on whoever looks at it to “protect the leaf”. It’s no longer in play in a fight

It’s more like the Uchiha are good in every situation, but if you fight them 1v1 you’re especially fucked. There’s no one to save you if you fall prey to genjutsu.
There’s truth in it though. The uchihas biggest downfall is their stamina. When Madara was dominating the entire battle field he was immortal, had unlimited chakra/stamina, literally did not take damage, had instant regeneration + hashirama cells that powered him up like crazy. At that point, he wasn’t really a normal uchiha.

@Cozy Yes the Kage do have a defense against Tsukuyomi. The Raikage is literally too fast for Itachi to hit him with either of Tsukuyomi or Amaterasu. Next the Stone Kage can literally turn him to dust and since he can react to the Raikage's movements in a team manner it means he is at least able to react to actions that are faster then Itachi's meaning Amaterasu would be something he can counter with particle style or just by raising an earth wall. Gara can defend against Amaterasu with his sand. As for Tsunade and Mai... not really sure what they can do besides Tsunade literally being able to go into her hundred healing state and tank the Amaterasu and crush Itachi into a splatter of blood on the wall. Next, it really isn't hard to not look at your opponent's eyes. Especially when you are fighting. You can just look at their shoulders or like Gia look at their feet. So Tsukuyomi is not the instant win you think it is. If Itachi isn't in his Susanno the Raikage would obliterate him in a couple seconds. His punches and throws hit far harder then a fucking shurikan. Let alone Tsunade's who can literally leave giant craters in the ground and knock down a full body Susanno from MADARA! Even with Madara dicking around he is far more powerful then Itachi or Pain.

1) Not really because Itachi does not have the durability to ignore the kinda damage that the Raikage is dishing. The man was able to tear through a rib cage Susanno with a single hit in his Stage 1 Release, not his Stage 2 which he used against Naruto. Anything besides his armored Susanno is going to be obliterated by the Raikage and Itachi does not have enough Chakra to keep it up for more then a minute, let alone use Tsukuomi or Amaterasu multiple times.
2) Sure the Yata Mirror can stop Particle Style. But only in one direction. What happens when the Onoki uses a big box version of it that wraps entirely around the Susanno like what he did to Sasuke until Obito saved his ass? Or when Gara rips Itachi from his Susanno like he did to Madara?
3) You are completely sleeping on just how fast Onoki is. The dude can react to what the Raikage is doing. Also Onoki can do what he did against Madara climb onto the Raikage's back, Lighten him to increase his speed until impact and then increase the mass so the Raikage hits even harder.
4) Sure Tsunade will eventually die to Amaterasu, but until then she can use her 100 healing seals fight through it and with her and the Raikage's blows hammering his Susanno Itachi's greatest defense will crack. And if he tries and moves the shield anywhere but at Onoki he's being turned to dust.
5) Did you not understand that in a fight it is rather easy to fight someone without looking into their eyes. So Tsukuomi is a fantastic trump card until someone just goes ya not going to look into your eyes.

I have to disagree with some points. In regards to Chakra ,When Itachi was at the academy, it was stated that he had mastered a forbidden jutsu,that being shadow clones. Naruto was also a master of this jutsu. Now as a graduating requirement you must be able to produce a perfect shadow clones to pass. This is not the mastery level, more so a adept level to ninjutsu in my opinion based of what the mastery level is known as; which is a kage level jutsu. What is implied what the kage level shadow clones are is based off of the amount of clones that could be produced, which reflects the mastery of dividing ones chakra equally. So far we seen that Naruto has the more Chakra in the very beginning than everyone ; even in comparison to Kakashi(a jonin) and he grew to have so much more. Itachi was the same, however i believe that Itachi had a mastery beyond even Naruto because his clones he could summon in any situation(really fast hand weaving), and anyone who is fighting him, generally could not identify him from the real one even if he had only a few or possessed a sharingan. Also his clones could explode. The only thing that was reflection of his Chakra depletion was the us of his Mangekyo Sharigan. Considering the time between the Uchiha mascre and when Itachi returns to the village; alongside the fact that he was losing his sight, Itachi had to been extensively using his Mangekyo Sharigan allot in order for it to wear and tear him apart. I only bring this up in the comparisons of what else he could do because Itachi skill In my opinion is shrouded in mystery, not to mention how he has jutsu no one has seen or heard of,, but his feats can speak for him. Also, you can't accurately say his Tsusano was vaporized by Kirin when this dude literally lives by the principle of deception. I say that because he re-summoned it with no issue to the degree to fight Orochimaro and seal him, without cracks or damage. So i could argue his Tsusano tanked kirin. I'd like to add that his Tsusano wasn't active before Kirin and his reaction time would have to be far greater than the speed of light to tank the super powered lightening based jutsu. Far as genjutsu, he casted on a group of anbu to which he killed or made them commit suicide; Also he's able to cast it from his finger. Granny Chio makes her statement about the Uchiha however when they speak of Itachi, they speak of him as a prodigy not a typical Uchiha. Itachi never was the type to gloat about how powerful he was and even acknowledges the strength of others. Itachi Tsusano possess 2 ethernal weapons, that being the Tosuka blade and the Yata mirror, that no other Uchiha, Not even Madara had a chance against. All the ninjutsu that he possess also an unknown factor because he only revealed them when it was necessary, like his Tsusano's Yagatama, which is a ranged attack. One of his ninjutsu being unknown and unnamed to this day; So it is accurate to say Itachi had certainly had more tricks to dish out.There is always the fact that the author states that Itachi was too strong and he had to kill him off. We the audience can only spectate and could never truly know how strong he really was ,which in my opinion is good. He died as a great Uchiha that can be acknowledged by the kage.

Don't forget Katsuyu tanked a Shinra Tensei that literally turned Konoha into a giant crater, and Orochimaru said that Katsuyu's acid could easily liquefy him (it also burned through a rock in Katsuyu's first manga fight). Itachi has no answer for it. Tsunade was also able to undo the comas that Itachi inflicted upon Kakashi and Sasuke in part 1, meaning that he has to find a way to deal with her or he wont make progress against the others. But Tsunade with Byakugo is almost immortal, she tanked a point blank hit from Madara's Susano before he figured out what her Byakugo actually does.

amaterasu or totska blade, she doesnt even know about the blade and would probably get stabbed like her fight with madara. plus itachi negs orochimaru with like no effort as a 14 year old
People forget how smart itachi was, he was prolly the smartest fighter in the series to the level of shikamaru, etc. HE would 100% one shot charging tsunade with totsuka, fully knowing how dangerous she is and would instantly go for gaara next. In the end its just plot armor, who wears it is what matters. Itach had so many stupid, hax abilities that in theory and with good plot armor he can win vs anyone. Totsuka/tsukyomi is just broken.
And remember tsukyomi coma were from itachi being friendly and a good guy to not weaken leaf village, his tsukyomi is perfectly capable to kill a person instantly (in his novels, he killed his girlfriend in a few seconds by making her live through all her life in a few seconds and she died of old age in there, then in reality.
Tsukyomi is exceptionally strong ability, most people are trying to downplay. Overall the grand plan was infinite tsukyomi, not something else. AS mentioned itachi had the most insane, hax abilities, which leave him in this stupid zone, not that strong, nor that weak, but with plot armor can potentially win vs anyone.
ANd its this way, mainly cause we never, ever had proper itachi developement, just innuenos, legends and a few episodes with a sick itachi, where in no instance he was even trying or even in REMOTE danger, except his fight with sasuke in which he wanted to lose and die anyway and was probably days away from dying from the illness.

Itachi was considered to have kage way of thinking at a young age. This thinking about who would win doesn’t make much sense because the only thing which decides who would win is, the one who writes the fight because of his tsukuyomi. If they look in his eyes they lose if they don’t they win. So one mistake can decide over losing and winning. Since they all don’t know itachi well it’s likely they would do such a mistake. The only reason people can escape itachis tsukuyomi is because he doesn’t want them to die. And to hit itachi while you can’t look in his eyes is quite hard. The tsukuyomi is op, that’s why he had to die. In an official explaining of the tsukuyomi it was sad that once you in it he can decide everything if you escape, it’s because he let you and it can kill you extremely fast without you even knowing that you are under a genjutsu. So it’s not a question of power it’s just a question of how the fight would go. But itachi wouldn’t even try to kill them in a real fight.

Yo I just watched this vid and I think this is a super cool theory and I am an Itachi fan cause I love how mystical and mind boggling his fights tend to be. I just wanted to say though in the anime, which I don't know if it followed the manga properly, I could've sworn that Itachi did in fact use genjutsu on Naruto and Sakura while they were with Kakashi in a forest looking for Sasuke. If my memory serves me correct that Itachi was actually a water clone and appeared to question Naruto about Sasuke. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that did happen and both Sakura and Naruto were put into a genjutsu, perhaps not from the exact same action but at similar time.

Ten While I disagree with at least half of the things SwagKage said here. You are right about this. Not even Kisame could have tanked a punch like that without regeneration. Itachi's base durability is not very impressive. No other Uchiha besides Madara's is though so I don't know why he would bring that up. The Uchiha's gimmicks are to use their OP jutsu and genius intellect to defeat their opponent while keeping themselves alive. Whatever lethal attacks they try to use on Itachi will not work. The only one that has a shot is Gaara. But an Uchiha of Itachi's caliber will have at least one or two get out of jail free cards for if they get pulled out of their Sussano.

Betrayal You aren't wrong. But an Alive Madara wouldn't let someone as strong as Tsunade tag him. Either way this basically reinforces the idea that the Uchiha are not known for having outlandish durability. Unless their bodies have been amped/enhanced you won't see them tanking attacks like Orochimaru and Tsunade can. But they don't need that sort of durability in base because of Sussano. As well as having techniques which can by pass durability. Itachi himself has 3. More options than any other Uchiha.

I think ive come up with a way for itachi (prime) to beat them if all things go as planned:
1. Use Tsukuyumi on gaara
2. Use Amaterasu on onoki and mei
3. Use totsuka blade on tsunade
4. Defeat A
(The first 3 are happening simultaneously)
Well... We never see Itachi use both Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu at the same time. Also he'd have to reliably shoot out Amaterasu at two people at the same time, which can't happen unless they're both standing extremely close to one another. This is assuming Tsunade would just stand there and let Itachi strike her with the Totsuka Blade AND that Gaara would be looking at Itachi's eyes.
I seriously doubt that any of the Five Kage don't know to not look at Itachi's eyes. The Uchiha Clan was widely feared across the shinobi world and all five Kage should definitely know how the Sharingan's Genjutsu works. Onoki even tells everyone during the fight with Madara to not look directly at his eyes.
ALSO, ALSO, it's a really big stretch to say that Itachi can use the Susanoo at the same time as his other two jutsu.
Bottom line, things COULD go as planned, but they likely won't.

A few points I'd like to stress:
In terms of speed, Sharingan relates to reaction time, not mobility. Comparison w/ Raikage can't be based solely on movement speed.
Itachi has 2 formidable attributes. The first is his intellect. Dude is a genius. He obviously isn't going to just run up and start trading blows w/ 5 Kage. (We saw what happened when Sasuke attempted) None of the 5 Kage in discussion come close to his tactical level. Garaa probably is the best of the group in this respect though.
The second formidable attribute is his jutsu toolkit. It's kind of pointless to focus on his physical power or durability - that's not where his capability lies. His jutsu are all pretty much sick. His skill set has both variety and versatility, but more importantly they are being wielded by a true genius.
The problem with analyzing Itachi, and the mistake that most people make in doing so, is that you really can't look at each stat individually. Itachi is pro based on how he puts it all together.
He would be well aware of how he matched up with the Kage in each area, and act accordingly. He isn't going to let Raikage or Tsunade get in close. Even w/ Susanoo, that's way dangerous. He has plenty of ranged jutsu to maintain his distance. You didn't give Amaterasu enough credit. That shit is bad news for anyone. Even though Tsunade may have healing jutsu, the fire doesn't go out.
His defensive abilities aren't limited to Susanoo and Yata. He is highly proficient with clones and substitution. Even the Kage will have a hard time actually landing a hit. When they do get one in, it's a good possibility that it is genjutsu. Which is another point to consider - psychological warfare. None of the Kage have that ability, so Itachi will try to use that to his advantage and maintain control of the fight.
All of that said, it's still not looking good for an Uchiha. Bottom line is it's 5 vs 1. Kage level is like insult to injury. Ultimately it will come down to context of the situation. If Itachi gets the preemptive jump on them, he could potentially stay in control of the fight. Make them play his game, and if he's coming like Prep Time Batman... it's a wrap. If they catch my man off guard at Ichiraku Ramen or somethin, 5 Kage are too much to deal with. His jutsu limitations, while I think you may have slightly underestimated his usage potential, are a legitimate issue. He definitely has to think about maximum efficiency and make sure every move counts. Either way the first thing he'll wanna do is Totsuka Inoki. Particle Style is not to be trifled w/.
What's important though is that we realize how ridiculous this matchup really is. That fact that we can have a lengthy high level conversation about his viability is a testament to the the fact that Itachi is a BOSS.
Also, as far as Edo is concerned, you regenerate and have infinite chakra... I wouldn't really consider that a handicap. Edo Itachi = No Contest.

Not a single kage has ever resisted a genjutsu they have been directly hit by. In the entire series. Itachi has feats putting people in genjutsu so subtle they DIDNT know they were hit (orochimaru, danzo, deidara). He can also use genjutsu on multiple people at the same time, even the nights of the uchiha massacre he used tsukiyomi several times and can cast genjutsu with even a finger point. So let’s recap.
He has better speed feats than all 5 kage.... none of them have resisted genjutsu in the entire show.... Yea he stomps. He could literally make ohnoki Evaporate all the 5 kage, and they wouldn’t even know they had been hit so they wouldn’t dodge.
If you watched the video you know swagkage acctually lied. He spent 5+ minutes going over mental gymnastics to say itachi can’t and never has used multi target genjutsu, but itachi did so on the night of the uchiha massacre. If anyone disagrees I encourage you to find and single scan in the entire manga where any of the 5 kage listed have resisted a genjutsu they were directly hit by. I’ll wait. Tsunade telling them isint fast enough to save them.
Itachi was dodging 2 v 1 blindside blitzes from kcm naruto and bee at the same time. Both of who have directly better speed feats than any of the 5 kage. I think this highly depends on the battle field, since if Itachi can use terrain to isolate them and fight 1 at a time he is a Hokage or above level threat. Like you said though unless you buff Itachi to basically an EMS and not being sick he likely loses most of the time.
One thing people forget about the Edo Tensei is their not limited by stamina and having to worry about hurting themselves from over exertion. So using them as a standard of comparison is iffy at best.
One other thing to consider about Itachi's sussano is the sealing vessel isn't protected by the primary sussano armor, thus logically if you destroy that the blade should lose its ability to seal as it has nowhere to draw the soul to.

Itachi's specialty lies more in a 1 v 1, he's not really equipped with crowd control against lots of people. His chakra reserve isn't really good as well, in part 1 where he was way healthier than in part 2, his sharingan got deactivated after just using 2 tsukuyomi, 1 amaterasu, 1 normal genjutsu and 1 reverse genjutsu. In a 5 vs 1 where everyone keeps attacking him from all direction, he'll be having a really hard time to position himself to get one of them to look him in the eyes especially since among these 5, 3 of them are range attackers, tsunade has a record of being able to save victims from tsukuyomi, and 1 of them is A who moves super fast he can even outspeed amaterasu. It's really not a good idea to use tsukuyomi, maybe if it's a 1 v 1 but in a team fight? it's just bad especially against kage level ninjas.

The strength of Itachi is his wisdom/intellect. He is clearly aware of his own weakness too (that's what makes him stronger) that he is not gonna last the fight for prolong time plus it is not his style either. He is an instant kill master. Once they are caught in ultimate genjutsu they are done. He can literally kill them in less than second with his strategies. Even if its feels like a stretch, the only people who would put up a fight against him will be who can counterattack his Genjutsu hence Senju/Uzumaki Clan Hashirama/Nagato and Minato (Itachi IQ is second to him) I can consider Guy too. Itachi would not go down without putting up a fight against anyone with severely damaging them. We have never seen Itachi with an intent to kill anyone throughout the series. He is pacifist. Even Kakashi tells why didn't he kill him. Even Uchihas like Obito, Sasuke and Madara all got power ups. I cant imagine how much strong Itachi would be if he had got Senju too. The only time we see him going in his prime would be against kabuto and the fight was again not an attempt to kill him as he needs him to break the Edo Tensei. And techniques like Izanami is lot more complex if its not understood correctly which only a guy like Itachi can pull it.

The fact that he died of illness is very realistic atleast for me bcoz a person who has undergone the pain of shouldering it is unimaginable actually, you can actually see his stress through and through. He died internally the day he killed his parents and made his own brother mentally unstable. In reality, stress gives rise to diseases. Considering Itachi its no surpise for me that he suffered from the illness no need of even a theory. The fact that Kishimoto didn't address the sacrifice he had to undergo and Sasuke was one of the victim of the Flawed Konoha Ninja system still pisses off even to this day. The ending really sucks other than Naruto and Sasuke resolving each other. Looks like Kishi wants Uchiha clan to suffer :P

It’s worth mentioning that he can kill anyone in a second with his genjutsu. He only needs to land the genjustsu to get a quick kill. Basically as long as these Kaye don’t have anything to counter his hack ability if a genjutsu he could potentially take out each one one at a time by avoiding all of them. Whichever are left after he takes out 3 he could handle with his susano. Itachi fights with hacks mostly. Fortunately in this particular fight the mage fight mostly with raw power rather than hacks so from what I can tell…. He does have a chance

One of the most threatening things about Itachi is his overall intelligence and ability to foresee outcomes and plan ahead Tobi actually refers to this when talking with Sasuke saying that he can’t believe how well Itachi plans ahead and that if he had known everything about Tobi he would definitely be dead and that’s really impressive as the 5 Kage would have a very difficult time stopping him. Also Itachi could use Amaterusu on a few of the Kage and that would be it for them the only ones who could outright stop that ability would be the Raikage and Kazikage also Itachi’s Susanoo was actually stronger in durability then Sasuke and Madara’s because it had armour and the Yata Mirror by the way when I say Madara I mean his base Susanoo not the perfect one. So the Raikage and Kazikage would be the last two standing against Itachi who was also a master of genjutsu still has the Totska blade Yata mirror Susanoo so it would be an uphill battle for the remaining Kage I still think he would lose but unless you are at the level of Madara and Hashirama or any of the Six Paths sages it’s hard to beat 5 Kage as they are deemed the Strongest Shinobi of their time

you forget that characters are slower and just generally less powerful than they were in their alive bodies. this is made obvious when Madara is revived - he instantly overpowered and subdued edo Hashirama immediately after he was brought back to life. so judging itachi's speed by using his edo feats is spurious.
wait what? the most straightforward interpretation of Kakashi vs Itachi in part 1 is that tsukoyumi can be casted on multiple people. Oh! and in itachi's solo arc, after he's slaughtered the Uchiha clan, he does in fact cast a genjutsu on two people simultaneously - they impale each other because they were caught in his visual genjutsu. Chiyo was talking about Uchiha in general, and so her comment does not necessarily apply to Itachi, who is the most naturally gifted Uchiha in the entire verse when it comes to genjutsu. You should edit your vid and correct the error about itachi not being able to hit two people at once with illusion jutsus.
The genjutsu he used on those two ninja wasnt tsukuyomi and kakashi didnt know what the tsukuyomi was he just thought it was a regular genjutsu so neither of those points really prove that itachi can target multiple people with tsukuyomi
Cinneflame okay so Itachi can in fact cast a genjutsu on multiple people. He used a generic sharingan genjutsu on the two anbu. Itachi’s tsukoyomi is superior in almost every possible way to standard off-the-shelf sharingan genjutsu. The only downsides of it are the strain of the after-effects and vision degradation. So why would you think it wouldn’t work on multiple people? Swag kage did 10 minutes of mental gymnastics to explain why Itachi isn’t as fast as we thought he was, without ever mentioning the fact that he was basing it on edo Itachi. It’s kind of obvious that Swag was biased in his reasoning - he wanted Itachi to not look so impressive. He forgot or neglected to mention itachi’s multiple people genjutsu feat.
Kakashi was the only konoha ninja that knew how dangerous itachi was. Kakashi also has the sharingan himself. Kakashi warning asuma and kurenai to close their eyes means that he knows or at least is confident that Itachi’s genjutsu can work on multiple people. Kakashi knew Itachi had far more power than he was displaying. So Kakashi was basically right about everything. Oh and Kakashi may have known about Itachi’s tsukoyomi. He was terrified of anyone being hit by it; why was he so scared of that? A standard sharingan genjutsu can’t KO people instantly, so there isn’t anything to fear because unaffected people can dispel the jutsu. Kakashi knew Itachi’s genjutsu was leagues above typical sharingan genjutsu. What did Kakashi know? Perhaps he knew about tsukoyomi ? What else could Kakashi have been imagining Itachi’s special genjutsu was? Maybe Kakashi knew about tsuk, you know since he was right about everything else, spent slot of time around the uchiha when he was growing up, was one of the anbu present at the crime scene of the uchiha massacre, had precise intel on Itachi’s and Kisame’s criminal profiles, and is in general one of the more knowledgeable characters.
There’s not a single reason to think Itachi can’t use it on multiple people, and all of the evidence points to us being very confident to say that he can. Itachi’s tsukoyumi is maybe the best genjutsu in the verse, it seems preposterous to think his lesser genjutsus are more well-rounded than his ultimate one.

Cinneflame yeah infinite is better true. I think tsuk is more deadly than koto, but koto definitely has its advantages.
Yeah so i do think Itachi’s tsuk can be used on multiple people based on indirect evidence, and inferring from that what looks most likely. It isn’t proven, but there are very good reasons to think Itachi’s tsuk is not limited to a single victim.

Nah he didnt expect it, just like ^ said. But blindness would weaken his reaction to something he doesnt expect, therefore, he got hit. But he still fought after having a blade lodged in his thigh..i stub my toe and cant continue the rest of the day.

Itachi's fighting style is drastically differen't in Edo form. He takes full advantage of his ability to regenerate. He doesn't dodge nearly as much, he just bodies stuff because he can't be physically killed. This is the exact method he used on sage Kabuto.
@One I think they're factoring in the immortality, however I doubt he would fair any better because Gaara would just seal Itachi and the other Kage would prioritize his safety in order for him to seal Itachi effectively.
