The Arkham "series" is just Asylum. City has too many flaws and Knight completely abandons Dini's direction.
Not sure if anyone else saw it, but somebody actually cross referenced the Arkham Knight credits with the S. Squad credits, and discovered that ZERO of the developers from the Arkham series was involved with S. Squad.
Make no mistake, people, this is not the same development team. The only thing they have in common is the Rocksteady name, which is a studio that will be dead within 2 years.

@@Shieftain - Neither. Was just a post I saw that had a side by side comparison of the dev teams. I looked into it myself, and saw that some departments have some crossover, but who knows if they stayed until the end. We know the heads of Rocksteady left, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to believe that a lot of the team would follow.

DmC is not even remotely that bad. Honestly, it was a kind of ok game. This one is like taking crap on common sense.
Yeah DmC was fucked over by the way the devs marketed it and some of the woke-style shallow pretentiousness but at least it is a very fun game to actually play when you skip cutscenes and run it at 60 fps. Also the music was top notch shit.
On the brighter side of things. DmC Donte was universally hated and got no sales. Years later Capcom came back with a true sequal in DMC5 and its pretty much universally praised. Hopefully Sefton Hill and the original devs come back and do the same thing for Arkham. A big fuck you to the woke rocksteady they left would be great.

I really wish writers would stop trying to push harley as a “badass girlboss” when she was never meant to be that. She is unfunny, annoying and stupid to the point where Joker looked smart compared to her. She was written as a joke character, in fact her whole character in TAS and the Arkham games was just her making constant mistakes and blunders, but thanks to the whole woke “girlboss” BS that everyone tries to push, her character has just devolved into pure millenial “I use reddit” humor.
I heard a critic on the Suicide Squad 2021 movie, and they pointed out how is Harley even gonna be a viable asset to fight against anything. She's just a crazy, regular human with a bat, and they drafted her to fight metahumans and eldritch horrors?
to be fair that's cap she was very nuanced and occasionally threatening (due to situations they intentionally put her into) in the BAS. however in ARKAM she was probably the most evil and stupid iteration of the character. getting one hit and killing kids, y'all made this Harley a hero? I woulda preferred they character swapped Harley instead of deadshot cause it would make more narrative sense instead of pro-liberal (if we had to label this, however I feel like no liberal that thinks about what they agree with will call this out as being devoid of any true morals and just a cash grab, misunderstanding the messages it tries and fails to push.)
Incorrect. Quin is a threat when she is serious as shown in joker's stories, animated series and when the joker dies and she's no longer bound by humor but continue. While I do agree with the fact people do weird ish with her yal gotta understand you don't underestimate quinzel, she's like an actual competent villain when she wants to be. She came the closest to killing batman in the animated series and she almost outsmarted him in city if it weren't for tim we wouldn't have a Arkham Knight.

I mean her having a underdog story in the Harley Quinn cartoon was great and that series was done really well that it reminded me of the early days of Cartoon Network. I'm not against them making her a serious character with story to tell as long as it is a good story. There's a hilarious trend where companies buy tickets to their own films and copies of their own games to boost the sales numbers and ratings - that way, while they're still financial flops, they can try to convince people that, actually, their culture is a "success" and that you're the weird ones for not liking their garbage.
Steam only lets you review a game that you actually bought. No one with a brain bought this, hence why there's mostly positive reviews from the consoomer NPCs that bought it. Steam isn't deleting reviews.

Thats not entirely true. Although many NPCs bought this game, many more were Arkham fans that got dupped. Steam reserves the right to call reviews "spam" or "off topic" and even "abuse" and delete them.
I don't have an official example of that but I'd guess something like " Fk this WOKE LBTQIA GARBAGE" would make the cut.
Now combine that with an extremely loose definition of "spam" and you can get the same results.

Batman never said Harley wasn't too bright, he THOUGHT it. When Harley talked about Batman causing mental and emotional damage to everyone he knew, she was talking about the bat family, as shown in Arkham Knight when he pushes them away and they all worry about him. Thing is, there's no way Harley could know any of that was going on but the game acts like it's common knowledge. There's probably a million examples of this but those two stuck out to me.
This is a classic sign of bad writers, there is no information boundaries. Everyone in the story has read the book and knows all things that happened and all people's opinions

The sheer fact there is something shady going on with most Steam reviews being thanos'd out of existence already tells me how bad this game is.
There was a negative review at the top with alot of likes and awards that said there was over 7000 reviews after launch. But only 1700 were left a short time later. Then I checked the Steam page the next day and that negative review was missing. Yeah, they're desperately trying to control public opinion and gaslight us. Valve is selling out hard, I guess it's not surprising seeing Valve on Sweet Baby's client list.

Just a fun fact: The credits for this game are longer than this video. Out of the 13 writers for the game (which is already way too much, I mean seriously, 13 writers?), Sweet Baby Inc had another 14. And that's not counting the "assistance" of many others studios / companies. Like, imagine 27 people writing a script together, and it gives this.
My rule of thumb is 1 writer/hour of cutscenes. More than that, then it's a waste of money.
@@ShadowbannedAccount I don't think there's any need to have more than 1 main writer with 1 or 2 assistants / helpers (to help with existing lore for instance). Best written stories are generally made by a single person, cause like any art, you need to stay coherent and need to convey something precise. When you have too many people, it starts to become diluted, everyone want a piece of the cake and they start to go in different directions.

But ya even if that wasn’t the case, the in-house teams would be 200-300 people, where team leads can’t have that old school camaraderie because it’s relegated to meetings as opposed to working side-by-side. And when you’re spending 10’s to 100’s of MILLIONS, you need corporate overhead, and they’ll want to push for something as safe as possible. Which often just makes an interesting idea boring and fails.

One of my friends bought the 100 dollar version, and asked me if I was going to buy it. I told him no...so he played with another friend.
He then told me that I was 'missing out' and the game was actually really fun. I already know it's live service and battle pass shit and I watched the full story and vehemently disagreed. He claimed that I don't read comic books and that I didn't really pay attention to the story and claimed you're playing as the bad guys so 'they have to be disrespectful!'.

@detective2221 early 3d fighting game, that also doubles as a dungeon crawler with a souls-like feature of having to collect your shit when you die. Except it's not just money but literally everything you had on you, your second character has to retrieve on top of carrying their own gear to get to where you died, and if they die too you gotta restart from save. All within randomly generated levels so no two games have the same layout. Also includes mini games like races and other shit. Oh yeah and on top of having an original roster, you can unlock FF7 characters like Cloud, Tifa, Yuffie, Vincent, Sephiroth, and even Zack. Don't know why theyre in the game but it's fun seeing them in a fighting game. They get interesting alternative outfits too like Vincent in his Turk suit or shirtless Sephiroth, Red Cloud. They also get cool movesets like Cloud/Sephiroth swordplay that includes an op Meteorain move.
It's definitely not a mechanical masterpiece of its time because again, its an early 3d fighting game, but it's certifiably a hidden gem of the past.

For the people wondering how to the devs that made the Arkham games ended up making this garbage game, should know that the Founders and a lot of devs ended up leaving Rocksteady early into the development of this game. These old devs who made the Arkham games recently created their own studio called Hundred Star Games. So very few people who made the Arkham games we love actually worked on this trash. It is pretty obvious that the old devs at Rocksteady had no faith in this game and probably found it extremely disrespectful.

My library mostly consists of games from the 1990’s to around 2012. The quality of AAA starts to take a massive dive after that.

I think it has more to do with the writing and direction from Sweet Baby Inc, because she was pretty decent in the Arkham games, even though Arleen Sorkin in Asylum was the best. 1) they fly to space or maybe gets pick by another human

I've heard of Anti Heroes making truce with Heroes to defeat a greater evil before, but I've never heard of smaller evil fighting greater evil and killing the Heroes by letting them get corrupted by the greater evil.
I don't think I've seen a dumber way of resolving a plot than this. Worst of all, I don't think a lot of people play DC games because they love the VILLAINS so much, so it's beyond insane to me that they'd write a story about murdering the Heroes and doing them dirty.

I rly wish game devs had some fuckin creativity in showing the depletion of HP by showing enemies having unique animations and different looks depending on how mich damage they take, like limping around, or theyre bloody as shit, losing armour on their body. I mean it’s to be expected. Most game devs are younger people in liberal states and cities. It’s pretty normal most of the studios based in such areas think their politics are normal.
Other studios like from Japan, Poland, etc. don’t push those type of politics because they don’t have them.
If you (like me) don’t like those type of politics in your games don’t buy games from those studios. So far, I think it’s working. These type of games are flopping hard.

I'll give suicide squad something. It made me appreciate the arkham games more. I mean, I liked the games but they weren't my favorite games, but after SS, I started playing through them again, and I'm really enjoying them. Even 100% asylum, great game get that instead of this trash.
Yep, I bought pre-owned copies of the remaster PS4 versions. Not played them since they first came out on 360. Playing through Arkham Asylum and loving it.
Omg same. I went back and booted up my ps3 for Arkham Asylum & it held up great. Then i played City on PC. Fantastic. Helped cleanse my eyes from horrible SSquad.

Sushi Squad is funny because Harley should not only already know who King Shark is. BUT KING SHARK WAS ALREADY DEAD IN THE ARKHAM VERSE.
As far as I did my research, while he got exploded in Assault on Arkham, the film's site mentions he can apparently heal from his wounds, wich could mean King Shark ended up coming back to life, wich still doesn't explain why is entire body is different. (By the by, that same website says fire can't hurt Killer Frost, so good news, she probably also made it)

It was a new feature of Unreal Engine 4 and you got Snoy games like God of Woke using it too fuelling the trend, just like how so many games looked like bloomy brown low res puke during the PS3 period. In some regards it might be seen as a very delayed knee-jerk reaction to how desatured games were for a while, now everything glows in the neon colours of the groomer crossdressing flag. They're cramming it into everything and anything, like Rage 2 that was slathered in it and Borderlands style 'humor' instead of the attempts at photo-realism of the first game.
It can also be seen as the femynist HR big chunguses and generqueer studies people doing to gaming what they did to their hairs. I don't know the ideological reasoning behind this, just that in nature it is to signal poison.
It's because the soulless gollum zoomers who play this trash need sensory overload 24/7, the game might be too boring to them if it wasn't super flashy and has bright colors and a million things on the screen.
Overwatch 1 actually looked quite nice on release. Atleast you could say that it felt like it had an artistic and consistent theme throughout its characters and maps. The problem is when everything becomes a jumbled mess with no cohesion. Something like modern day cod with no artistic direction when it comes to multiplayer and their operators. Or destiny 2 deciding to create a synthwave 80's dlc right before the penultimate expansion for whats supposed to be a post apocalyptic universe.

It's the same thing on PSN. I found two positive reviews out of the first hundred and yet the game is rated at 79% positive on the PSN. Something obviously going on.

A buddy of mine is pissed at me for being right about this game being dumpster sludge. But I think most of us saw it coming a mile away.
Man, sooooo many people called it after 1st game play reveal. The online chatter after that E3 or wherever it was revealed was like “uhhhh meh, why are they making this, who asked for this”. Then it got delayed 4 times and still didn’t impress anyone.
People avoided the GotG game after Avengers just because they were Marvel and published by Square Enix. Even though they’re completely different games. Once people found out this was an looter shooter, it was over. And it only got worse when they mentioned you had to be online (even in single-player), and that it would have micro-transactions (just cosmetics now, but clearly it would’ve applied to gear if the government backlash to Battlefront 2 didn’t happen).
