I heard molton brown new EDP Rose absolute smell like portrait of a lady too?
I love the EDT. I layer it with Guerlain Bois Mysteriuex and it reminds me a bit of POAL so I must try the EDP then.

I was gifted a bottle of Belgravia Chypre and it really is a beautiful fragrance for anyone. A perfect date scent. The fragrance is actually still available on the Penhaligon's website.

I think the eau capitale launched their beginning of this year! I remember I got it around my bday in Jan! 😊💕 I bought the rose othenial candle months ago and the perfume is sooo good!!

Eau capitale I like the most of all Diptyque fragrances I tested so far. I will probably buy it. I hesitated a bit, because I think it tends to smell more feminine than masculine. But over all I think it is wearable for both genders.
Bought TT Porpora based on your recommendation and am soooooo happy! I love Porpora ❤. I have POAL as well and love them both...

Lol, you had me at POAL alternative in your solo porpora videoe 😊... video topic suggestion, TT feminine leaning, fresh smelling, warm weather appropriate frags with beast mode projection and longevity. All TT reviews online seem to focus on masculine leaning, sweet smelling, cold weather scents... just a thought. BTW, if it is not obvious yet, big fan of your reviews, I use them to guide my purchases 😁

Finally got POAL last month and love it. Got Musc Rav earlier this year. Both intense frags. Love House of Diptyque as well and yes I do think Eau Cap has its place. I’ll be getting more from Diptyque soon. Enjoyed the vid. Thanks ✌🏽

Belgravia is not discontinued. I just bought it back in June 2020. Maybe they are low on stock and don't a supply chain to support ingredients yet.
Portrait of a lady .
With my eyes closed, I was guessing an Oud & Rose combination enhanced with Musk.
I've heard a lot about it, so maybe that's why I'm disappointed.
An elegant perfume with nicely matched notes, balanced, with a real olfactory dimension.
But what saddens me is that I feel like I've smelled it before... many times before.
A Cypriot Rose, aromatic and woody.
The spicy Patchouli gives it an exotic aspect, like a Cambodian or Laotian Oud.
A Rose raised by a trio Musk, Blackcurrant and Raspberry omnipresent.
I have ghostly and chypre scents of Coriander, Ambrette, Styrax, Mugwort and Chamomile.
Released in 2010 this is a precursor, but it reminds me of so many others:
- "Rose & White Musk Absolute" Jo Malone
- "Rose Exaltante" Mizensir
- "White Patchouli" Tom Ford
- "Cafe Rose" Tom Ford
- Rose Oud" Nicolai Parfumeur
- etc...

I ❤️ Eau Capitale but it can get a little oppressive if you overspray. I haven’t smelled Portrait of A Lady in years. I cannot recall it. I have Molton Brown’s Rosa Absolute and it reminds me of Eau Capitale. I do believe Rosa Absolute is definitely discontinued.

Thanks for this great comparision video! I must say that I really enjoy both of them. Belgravia Chypre seems to be a Limited Edition, it's a nice fragrance, but I think I prefere Fashion Decree when it comes to strong, green patchouli scents. Greetings from Germany 🙋

I have porpora, but it doesn't last long on the skin and is not nearly as good, and I think it's better to get POAL instead on trying to save money.
You should try red shoes from Jaques faith and you'll see it's almost the same for me it's even better it doesn't have the heavy hanah and clove in the portrait of the lady that old cheap house in the gulf used to smell like which it do remaind me of... the rose is more sparkly its also warm spicy but in a nice balanced way
I'm not a fan of either of those two but POAL is different and maybe even better although it gives me a headache.

How does Capitale compare to Durga's Rose Atlantic? I tried that one and on me it smells like great rose with not so great marijuana lol The opening is amazing. Totally different rose from L'Ombre dans le Eau, which smells like Nair to me.

I found the rose in eau capitale to lean more towards rose and cuir than POAL
Eden Perfumes also has an alternative for Portrait of a Lady as well (they call it Portrait of a Woman). And it's vegan and cruelty free.
I have it and like it, I would say it has a stronger incense but a more toned down patchouli compared to the current version of POAL. The rose is the same to my nose. I prefer the Eden one because I like incense more than patchouli, also it's much cheaper (you can buy 30 ml for 24 pounds). It has good longevity (lasts all day) and leaves a trail behind you.
They are very similar to me but Eau Capitale is more Beast
Personally I'd take porpora over portrait, but I'd take une rose over them all 👑

I’m torn between Eau de Minthe and Eau Capitale which one is better?
I would say eau de minthe is more aftershave-y and "masculine". Eau capitale is softer and more unisex. They are very different but I prefer Eau Capitale. Scent perception and enjoyment really depends on each individual though; have you sampled them both?

There are no dupes for Portrait. Eau Capital reminded me of Alexander McQueen’s Kingdom. That dirty rose note and middle notes. Kingdom has that BO kinda cumin thing going on at first tho.
Next one in this series could be Fidelis vs. The Moon vs. Bois d'Ascese vs. Revealed Sandalwood.

just received Portrait and it is pretty amazing. Just buy it quit thinking about it. When I first spray POAL it smells like P*%%Y! Im not kidding! Get your nose on it and you will probably agree with me. Let me just say that does not mean it smells bad. No not at all. Im just saying what no one else will.

I don’t know the portrait of a lady I brought the big bottle and when I got it I was disappointed because it was such a female kind of smell there’s nothing manly about it smells like a perfume for women never again
It would be a nice way for you to learn to enjoy wearing unisex fragrances. Just start wearing it and enjoy the Rose, Spices, Patchouli, the Fruits and more!! Otherwise stick to Macy's! :)
