I’ve been using a Bowflex for years. I’m a 60 year old former college football player and after rugby for 20 years. Free weights are no longer in my exercise routine after my 23 operations. I’m too tall to use the yoga ball. I get full extension using the normal method. Yes I have to use the full 310 lbs and do sets with high reps and I get a decent workout. I’m done trying to be big and just want movement. I love the machine
Thanks for the video. Two things that would improve this video are: 1. Tell which part of the chest muscle each workout benefits 2. Tell how many sessions you should do each time (i.e. 10 reps three times with a 30 second break between reps) Thanks!
Thanks! I do plan to re-record a lot of this video sometime in the next year and will keep that in mind. Regarding #2, check out my workout routines. Volume and rest periods are all covered pretty clearly in them.
Thanks! The Yoga Ball puts you a little further away from the tower than the bench. So when you do reps, the power rods start and end further along in their bend. The further along they are in their bend, the more tension they provide.
Could be a few different things. (1) Your chest muscles could be disproportionately stronger than your arms. (2) Could be related to the handles being too long and you're not getting enough chest engagement. I talk about it more in this video: ua-cam.com/video/3fuW6REm2mo/v-deo.html
An other good one.. the bar that comes with the machine.. you can pretty much do a real bench press if you use the pullies in the middle of the machine on the ground and lay with your head towards the leg thing
Yes, this particular model, PR1000, doesn't have those pulleys or the bar. I had a good workout routine with this method here: ua-cam.com/video/4NTsFO05IKs/v-deo.html
When facing the tower, there should be a lever underneath the right side of the seat. Pull it out, and twist 90 degrees and move the seat towards the tower.
Thanks! Yep, 80lbs on each side. Honestly though that feels like about 45lbs to me. I am working on a video about upgrading resistance with elastic bands and hope to publish that within a couple months. Just doing a lot of testing before posting it
I agree! I have an older bowflex and the rods are not “up to par”. I’ve used a luggage scale to measure and the 50 lb rods are closer to around 32-35. When I bought the extension pack to add an additional 100lb (total) the measured resistance was pretty spot on. Seems like I’ve seen an apparatus for sale that creates tension further up the rods. Anyhow, keep up the good work. I really do like working out with the bowflex!
I was using the stock 210lb Bowflex in this video and even another set of power rods didn't make for enough weight. I found that stacking up a bunch of elastic bands for more resistance worked though and so I made a video on that setup here: ua-cam.com/video/bVD7mLLnHFQ/v-deo.html
@@CutoDracon keep it and you'll be looking for an upgrade soon enough! Be sure to check out the rest of the channel for follow along routines if that interests you. This was probably video number 5 on the channel and I've put out close to 50 since then.
Appreciate the video
Thank you for this yoga ball hack 🤩

thanks, and one can go seamlessly from one to the next...sweet!
Thank you Sir for making this series!
#03/23/2024 #Bowflex Great workout to get back into the routine.
I just picked up a Bowflex. Thank you for for the information, it’s very helpful. Time to workout!
Awesome! Check out the rest of the channel sometime too. I've got a bunch of follow along workouts that you might like.
Thanks very much ❤
Thank you so much! I just bought this machine used from a neighbor, and your workouts are perfect!
Excellent, glad you like them!
Very clever. Great video. Thank you
Thanks, John. BTW, I just put out a video for upgrading the resistance of the Bowflex with elastic bands. Very relevant for chest exercises.

This workout is fire
Thanks for all the variants! #Bowflex

Awesome video. Thank you! How does the yoga ball add more resistance than having the bench up?

Is it possible to lie flat and horizontal bench press with this machine? Thank you!
On the PR1000, no. On the Blaze and similar machines with ground pulleys, yes.
@@BowflexWorkouts gotcha. Thank you!
i’m not sure if my form is wrong but i feel the burn more in my arms rather than my chest. What am I doing wrong?

I got my bow flex pr1000 used so don’t know how to put Incline position

Thanks I’ll give it a try!
Good stuff! It looks like the chest exercises are being done with 80 lbs/ side. Is that correct?

De nada
Use the smaller handles and NOT the longer length handles he's using here for much more power rod resistance!!!
Can you not just increase the weight?...

@@BowflexWorkouts nice! Shoot 200lbs enough for me right now. 🤣😂 Although I'm just recently getting into working out and stuff.

Is this a parody ? 😊
Rude.
Thanks, these are really helpful!
