  • Finally, the pony wall has been installed, and the staircase is complete.
I still need to install another handrail later.
The pony wall seemed easy to install, but it didn’t fit well and I had trouble making good progress.

This man clearly does not shop at Home Depot's legendary aisle of curved stud lumber

I think a lot of the work he does is material selection. The pieces that he uses even for structure are all super beautiful, minimal knots, straight grain, etc. Plus he does a LOT of prep on pieces that will be exposed

love whenever you post a video, it feels like watching my grandpa at work. very curious is it actually you narrating the English or your apprentice (who seems to be the person filming?)

The Japanese carpenters are very skillful and many techniques dated way back to the Tang Dynasty of China.

Great work, but is it possible to omit the background music? It gets really annoying after a while :) Thx

I am a wood worker and I can say with certainty that Asian carpenters are the very best in the world and they have been for centuries. This stair case will stand for 500 years or longer.
