Actually lara, is about a game, a japanese or chinese game, called like dragon quest or something like that and talks about the story of a hero that rescues a princess, for a king, fighting a dragon
Someone did a translation elsewhere and I copied and pasted here.
This song was written in 2017 and was sung by a software application that uses proprietary voice synthesizer technology to create singing by entering notes and lyrics on a computer. Zhou Shen did this cover in the show Singer 2020 and has made the best human version so far.
The song tells a simple RPG story. A princess was hijacked by a dragon, the king asked a warrior to bring her back. After leveling up (like what you usually do in an RPG game), the warrior found the dragon and killed it. Finally, the warrior married the princess and have a cute baby. Zhou Shen mainly performed a girl's voice as a narrator, a boy's voice as a warrior, an old man's voice as the king, and the Bel Canto style as the dragon.

@@VoxTapeStudios Just to add on a little bit, the names of the princess, warrior and dragon are super long, a lot of the lyrics in the song are actually the names of these persons. In they want to safe them from trouble, they simple named the baby with ordinary Chinese name which only consists of 3 Chinese words.

@@VoxTapeStudios Also, the song was written for AI, the author used a lot tongue twisters without actual meaning. It is super challenging to read, to memorize, even for native speakers. So don't worry you cannot follow the lyrics, only few like SHEN can do this.
He's acting out 5 different characters in a fairytale. A little girl, the narrator, the young warrior, the dragon and the king (not counting the baby and the princess who didn't sing).
There was a dragon who brought disaster to the kingdom, kidnapping the princess and disappearing. The people were distressed and a brave warrior volunteered to rescue the princess.
The king, rejoiced, asked for his name. The Warrior's name is 达拉崩吧 斑得贝迪 卜多比鲁翁 Dalabengba Bandebeidi Buduobiluweng(and no I'm not joking).
Carrying the hopes of the people on his shoulders, Dalabengba rode the fastest horse from the palace through great danger and received twelve gold coins. He opened all the treasure chests in a remote village.
When he arrived at the cave of the dragon, he pulled out his sword to confront it. The dragon said its name is 昆图库塔 卡提考特 苏瓦西拉松 Kuntukuta Katikaote Suwasilasong, which was mistaken by the warrior as 昆特牌 提琴 烤蛋塔 苏打 马拉松 Gwent cards violin baked eggtart soda marathon (the Chinese words sound similar but mean different things**. I am *not joking*).
They had a big fight. Dalabengba slashed Kuntukuta and Kuntukuta bit Dalabengba. Eventually, Dalabengba won.
Dalabengba and 公主 米娅莫拉 苏娜丹妮 谢莉红 Princess Miyamola Sunadani Xielihong(facts, people) rode back to the city. The name of the capital city they returned to after defeating the dragon is 蒙达鲁克 硫斯伯古 比奇巴勒 城 Mengdaluke Liusibogu Biqibale City(still not joking).
The princess married the warrior and to avoid confusion they named their child Wang Haoran and apparently the child's full name is too difficult to pronounce so the narrator dosen't want to say it even once.("if you have to hear it then you say it yourself").
The End.
**So the names don't really mean anything, they're just tongue twisters which is why there is literally no other way to translate. And I can't believe I typed all that.
P.S. I heard (not sure) that the child's name is actually the whole song and the song is a joke about how in video games all the player names are taken and you have to think up increasingly absurd ones.

this is a song by Ilem, written for the virtual singer Luo Tian Yi. normally any singer who sings this is expected to make variations to the lyrics. Zhou Shen is the first one to get Ilem’s agreement to use the original lyrics.

😁 I love this performance. I even downloaded the original video and found a translation that I added to the downloaded video so I now have subtitles on it. Just for my own enjoyment.
I like to point out that the sing is not about a fairytale but some typical 80's-90's RPG video games instead. As the music suggest, you can hear sounds that is associated with levelling up of characters and opening of treasure boxes which is also represented in the lyrics. Moreover, in the middle part where the tempo slowed down before picking up speed is like a final boss fight where the fight sequence started in slow motion before picking up as the fight progresses. With this in mind, i think we can better understand the whole melody

Wait what that’s not even possible zhou shen has hit it it’s just that his normal voice is really high. He can change his voice is something called practice and talent
To tell you a bit of his background. He got bullied a big-time when he was young just because his voice didn't change when puberty came but that was not his choice and people called him names..... because of that he didn't sing in front of people for a long time and he even tried to tone down his voice when he speaks. It takes a long time for him to accept his own voice again and gets where he is now. He has studied Dentistry in Ukraine when he was young but because of the language barriers, he changes to studied Classical music there instead. His goal is to combine Classical and Pop music together to introduce to those who didn't know what Classical music is. His vocal range is very wide and his breath control is very good. He is a polite, funny, and humble guy. He can sing at least over 10 different languages. He can even sing 6 different vocals in one song. His music has so many different genres. If you are willing to dig into his performances, you will be amazed by his talents. A lot of music can heal people's bodies but not many can heal people,'s, souls. Zhou Shen's music is one of them that can heal your souls. Thank you again for reacting to Zhou Shen's performance.

As far as I know Zhou’s voice did not drop (or barely dropped) in puberty so he has a natural high soprano voice. Very, very rare for men.
He played 5 different roles in the performance, which is why you can hear 5 different voices. He is talented for sure.

A friend of mine translated the whole song for me after I recorded this... so interesting haha!
His name can be pronounced as Zou Shern. Tho he only speaks fair English & a few Cantonese phrases but he could sing them excellently. He speaks Ukrainian and Russian bcoz he studied in Ukraine and took his counter tenor lessons with an elderly famous music professor there. He loves music since young. His parents sent him to Ukraine to study dentistry but his 1st love is always music. During his free time, he took singing lessons there, eventually switching to music major. He begged one very good professor whom he likes to take him on as his student but was refused several times. He never gave up and went again and again and again . Finally his persistence impressed the professor so much that he relented. Unfortunately that professor passed away a few years ago without telling ZS of his illness. Subsequently ZS flew there to pay his respects to his late music professor at his grave site. ZS was a shy & introverted person but has transitioned to a more confident & funny person. He joined the Voice at age 21 but was eliminated by a female judge called NA Ying whom I greatly detest for her denigration of another prolific & excellent singer/composer (wrote & composed1500 songs) named Dao Lang aka Sharp Wolf (whose songs are wildly popular throughout China.) ZS is now 29 but still looks like a high school kid. So glad he’s wildly successful. He’s now given the recognition he truly deserves. I believe ZS has got a photographic ear and memory that enables him to create his own music genre such as singing in different voices and/in different languages in each sentence or stanzas of a song, adding comical, vocal syncopation. You must listen to 3 more songs that showcase this talent (1) Dalapengba or Darabon Bar, a song of a fairy tale, (2) You are ruthless/heartless (suan ni hen) (3) the Hindi song Zoobi Doobi

and with the difficult lyrics, like tongue twister in Chinese, changing from one voice to another, dancing at the same time, and it is said he did not even get much time to prepare for such a song in performance. yes, he is so talented and hard working. I would like to recommend his "unravel" and "rubia" too. He can sing very well in different languages too.
he uses a ton of vocal techniques, and is a natural countertenor. You’ll have a whale of a time reacting and analysing his performances.
He also sang the Chinese promo track for the movie The Shape of Water. IMHO it’s even better than the OST.

@@KajiVocals in the program Super Vocal he stated to the judges that his range is “like” countertenor. the main judge Liao Chang Yong said that he is amazing in that he is not trained as a countertenor but yet performed like one.

@@naughtyfrog8257 Zhou’s voice has not dropped in puberty so he essentially still has a treble range and voice type. Soprano generally refers precisely to how the voice is built rather than someone’s sex alone. If it was purely about that, then people like Leonidas Miklos in opera would be labelled as countertenors and no one classifies him as that. Counterenor is essentially a developed male voice (that is one that goes under natural tenor/baritone/bass) who sings in head voice above their passaggio to sing in a contralto or mezzo (and in some cases soprano) range. It does not say anything about how the voice actually sits.

Zhou Shen was the only singer who can sing out the originals lyrics. And he only practiced for few days only. The outcome is amazing. The song is an adventure story. Dragon had kidnapped the princess. Brave hero came to the king say your majesty give me a sword. I’ll rescued the princess. The king was over come with joy and asked his name. The hero think about it and say, my name is Dalabangbade la dum. ( the name has no meaning just tongue twister.) the king, is your name dalabengbade la dum. Hero. Yes, yes, it’s dalabangba de la dum. Little history about Zhou Shen. His English name is Charlie nick name. Walking CD player, song killer. He graduated in Livi National Music adcademy in Ukraine. He studied Tenor, in Bel Canto. After return to China he studied a little in Chinese opera and voice acting. He also had wanted to be voice actor but ended up being singer. Like Dimash, from time to time Zhou Shen would mix opera with modern pop together. Mostly bel canto with mandarin pop. Sometimes western classic or opera. Other times Chinese opera mix with modern pop, rock. He is not only talent in changing voices but also in languages. 9 languages in let it go. 5 languages in together go! He can speak over 5 or 6 Languages and sung over ten different languages. Both of his tongue and vocal cord is extremely flexible. 😂 He have his feminine voice. He was shunned because of his voice. When he was younger his voice was so high. When his puberty came his voice didn’t change. Only as he grow older his voice started to get deeper. You can say he’s a total late bloomer. I love his personality as much I love his song. He’s humble, considerate and fun loving he’s like the naughty little bro. I think he still have some of innocent in him that’s why he can to the impossible. To him nothing is impossible except growing tall. (I was just rephrase one of the fan. This song is about a fairy tale, there are princess, king, monster, young hero.Young man beat monster to save princess. So different sounds are needed to express different clips.
This song is practically about a kingdom with people having weirdly long names. The princess of this kingdom was captured by a terrifying dragon, sending the king and his people go nuts. Then a brave young man (with a tremendously long name) stood out and traveled to save the princess. On his way saving the princess, he encountered and overcame many difficulties. Finally, he arrived at the dragons place (obviously the dragon had a long name). The young defeated the dragon and saved the princess! The king was very happy about this, to reward this young man, the king married him his daughter (ie. the princess who also had a long name). The young man and the princess lived happily ever after and they have a child, this time, to avoid trouble, they name their child simply (finally a short name wooo!). :)

Anyways, here's a recent performance that I like a lot. The song is 克卜勒 (English: Kepler, fyi Kepler is known for his laws of planetary motion). The song has nothing much to do with astronomy, it's just basically about two lonely stars finding each other in the universe. So the meaning behind is warm but inspiring and powerful. He ended the song with 'twinkle twinkle little star', which was not a part of the original song. The ending was soooooo beautiful.
