2000-2003 Ellen was hustling to get her career back. This hosting gig, her two HBO specials, and Finding Nemo were huge boons to her career that paved the way for her talk show succeeding during its early years.
@squirrelygirl816 I don't think it's necessarily the U.S. that they were honoring. It was the lives that were lost. So many lives were altered and forever all due to senseless violence. The thing that I think a lot of people forget is that at our core we're all the same. We've all got hearts and all of us bleed.
At 1:36, was that guy touching her bottom? When she turned around and said hey, it didn't seem like part of a joke, it really seemed like he'd grabbed her
Terrific clips. Just a suggestion to cblondemonger, if you put tags and a description, plus a better title, more people would find these 3 incredible clips. Put these in the tags: 2001 Emmy Awards Host Ellen DeGeneres 9/11. These deserve to be seen by everybody but right now its almost impossible to find them on UA-cam. Many thanks again!!
Wow, any country of South America appeared. Only Panama, Costa Rica and Canada from America continent. Wow. Greetings from Uruguay, we were sad here also.
That tribute was incredible - it really surprised and moved me to see how many nations cared about us; I was under the impression that the US has a terrible reputation among other countries.
It was not just the states that was affected... it was the world. It warms my heart to know that in the face of tragedy, loss, and senseless death, the world joined together to say "We want peace, not terrorism!" Beautiful.
Thank you so much for uploading this! I was in seventh grade when New York was attacked and back then, you're young and you don't really get the grasp of everything that went on. Little things seemed so important back then. Things that don't matter now. I lived through history and I'm glad this is up so that I can appreciate the gravity of what I've grown up with. Thank you.
OMG what an amazing video! From 3:32 to 6:02, it just made me cry all the way through!! Wow!! 8 years ok!! RIP!! And thanks for uploading, Ellen is the BEST!! :D
Great video ...Ellen was amazing as always...my only problem is that they they listed FYROM as Macedonia ...Get it right people Macedonia is in Greece ... It's like calling America Canada just because they are next to each other ...the country is called Former Ygoslavic Republic of Macedonia NOT Macedonia !!
@squirrelygirl816 It does but human lives are still human lives and terrorism is still terrorism ... Even I who really dislike America has to respect the fact that a lot of people died because of obscurantism ... So now it's Haiti which is losing sons and even if there are a lot of illegal immigrants here and Haitians have a bad reputation we're mourning the loss of Haitian people ... We're not heartless =)

When the world came together as one. Now it’s “my way or the highway”.

I liked that there was clapping when they showed Israel.

@JulietteTV1970 I did that intentionally as to not have them removed for copyrite reasons. Several of my earlier videos were removed.
Whoa.. Didn't they just wrongly labeled Philippines as Manila, its capital? (I'm not from Philippines though)
the best parts if ellen's career.
what would an American Award show be without some overblown patriotism
hahaha steve martin was genuinely confused for a second when ellen leaned over him to talk to that woman..so cute
It was Steve Martin
Wow, any country of South America appeared. Only Panama, Costa Rica and Canada from America continent. Wow. Greetings from Uruguay, we were sad here also.
Is Steve Martin for Ellen
At 1:03 you can see Portia in the front row next to the lady in the yellow jacket..... #loveatfirstsight
Harriet Reed who can resist Ellen's sense of humor ;) btw, I guess she's there for Ally mcBeal?
I wonder where the man sitted.
thank you so much for the clips of Ellen.
wow you're right! :)
❤😮
I puzzled as to why they put the names of countries in the 9/11 montage, but for the Philippines, they just put Manila...

Only a severely deranged person can see a tragedy like that and think "serves those americans right"
Only 3 countries from America continent, show that US had not a very good impression in the rest of the american continent.

They only know the name of their country, not others, and call themselves american, when America is a continent, not a country.
what is the name of that song in the back ground.
