    Thank you for bringing these great staple inks to attention ! 😊
    Waterman Violet Tendresse (Tender Purple) has always been my choice number 1 ink ! I absolutely love it. It's deep, it shades.....❤
    It seems to me that in the last 5 to 10 years, the colour shifted a little bit from more reddish purple to less reddish purple, but it's subtle and it has always been my favourite purple anyway. I wonder if it happened when they changed the design on the outer packaging.
    Vert Harmonie is a second favourite.
    The turquoise is a little too light for my taste, I tend to prefer Lamy turquoise, or Iroshizuku Kon Péki.
    I have to test again Mysterious Blue - it didn't whow me when I used it years ago, but after seing your vidéo, I have to try it again !!!!

    Why does everyone in the comments have only Serenity Blue and Intense Black? I don't even use them anymore. I use Inspired Blue and Harmonious Green constantly. Nearly all of my pens are vintage flex and these shading inks show off line variation beautifully, are more beautiful generally, have gorgeous sheening, and they clean out much more quickly than the much more saturated Serenity Blue and Intense Black.

      @pen.venture it's frustrating that so many people default to using just these two colors. That's what I'm talking about - not that people seem to prefer these colors, but that so few people bother to look at Waterman's other inks. It's not just the people writing comments for this video, either. I've used them both and find them less interesting and harder to clean out than Inspired Blue and Harmonious Green, and ever since I've been using these two colors and showing them to people at pen shows, on my UA-cam channel, in my Facebook group and other Facebook groups, and on Instagram over the past several years, I've seen a lot more people using them.

    • @simonwoodford8728
      @simonwoodford8728 Місяць тому

      Probably because the Waterman inks are reliable and well priced which make them ideal for everyday pens and the inks you mentioned are my workhorse colours. I do have purple inks by Waterman, Mont Blanc, and Visconti but don't have much call to use them even though the the thought of doing so appeals to me. Apart from being a man who keeps a "dinky" in his holster I was impressed to see to a man with Visconti pens in his collection and would be interest to hear his opinion on the Visconti inks which I use exclusively in their pens.

    • @singlesideman
      @singlesideman Місяць тому

      @@simonwoodford8728 I think you're missing the point of what I said. I use Waterman inks almost exclusively because they're safe for vintage fountain pens that use rubber sacs or have soft rubber parts that make direct contact with ink, which is about 95% of the pens in my collection and that I use. I said that it makes no sense that of the Waterman's inks only two are mentioned, and they are the same two that most people who don't have a lot of experience with vintage fountain pens default to, and they're missing out on Waterman's more adventurous colors, such as Inspired Blue and Harmonious Green, both of which shade beautifully and are vintage safe.

    Used Waterman Tender Purple in my brand new Laban Rosa Lilac & it's now permanently stained so they can stain! And yes I have flushed over & over, soaked for over a week & tried a sonic cleaner & it's still stained!

    • @pen.venture
      @pen.venture  8 місяців тому

      Well - as I mentioned there are pens that are using some materials of lower grade / or left unpolished with their surface open / or they have spots where ink can get in and sit there for longer time - regardless these will stain sooner or later - with some or even all inks, an ink staining a certain pen doesn’t make it a staining ink, but I know at least one ink that stains all pens even the unstainable ones :)) even metal gets stained by it sometime - Baystate Blue

    • @pen.venture

      I couldn’t say - but since they wash so easy, one may assume that they don’t stand the test of time like something more permananet (if we can say “more permanent” to define inks that stand better the water test and are not permanent by nature)

    Inks made for fountain pens do not contain pigments, with the exception of a handful of questionable waterproof inks that have "micro-pigments", and which can be used relatively safely in only safety pens. Also, there's nothing particularly "tricky" about sacs.
