Coraline is such an underrated classic movie. I used to be afraid of this movie when I was little, but now that I’m into movies like A Nightmare Before Christmas and Tim Burton movies, I adore this movie.
A.J.H Artist & Writer This movie used to terrify me as well
It's my favorite movie!! ♥
I was never scared of this movie when I was little. I always watched Tim Burton related movies and I was always ready for Halloween and I mean ALWAYS I used to think of a costume to wear during the months of summer and then wear it on Halloween when it got around. Tell ya I was not a normal kid growing up 😂😂
My mom thinks it’s creepy
Me to 😄😋
I felt really bad for the other father when he was attacking coraline and said "sorry...so sorry..mother making me.. don't wanna hurt you" then right before he dies he yells "take it!" and gives her the ghost eye :(
Lacy Pii ikr...
In the book the other fathers story is even sadder
@@mewmewgirlabbey3840 Cool
When was this like what scene like what?????? Omg now I'm said and when he sang "making up a song about Coraline" he's trying to warn her in song lyrics cuz the piano that is controlling him is alive and doesn't want him to say anything to Coraline so he can't say it straight to her face that she's on danger so he puts clues for her in the song that she never figured out!!!
Gabby NaluDragneel When they’re on the bridge and he’s on the grasshopper thing. They’re going over the bridge and he starts to sink and dies
Coraline: "I almost died!"
Mom: ".. That's nice...."
Joy 18 I have the Japanese one and it is almost the same.
(When talking about the well)
Coraline: If I had fell, I would’ve died.
Mom: I see
Joy 18 It’s Beldam that’s the evil mom
it seems that close to the end Coraline's Mom is more sad when Coraline is mean toward the end did anyone notice that the real Mom was more sad and loving
Eden the Jedi maybe. The Japanese one gives off the same kind of feeling. I love the film in Japanese :)
@@iamlearningjapanese5276 makes sense
The scariest thing is that the other father was trying to warn Coraline in his lyrics.
Think about it our eyes will be on Coraline.
He means if she does not escape she will have buttons for eyes.
She's a doll. The doll was being used to watch Coraline.
She's a pal of mine. The other father is trying to tell Coraline that he is on her side.
Even the part where he says this piano plays me is hinting that he is being controlled by the Beldam.
That upbeat song is actually a warning to Coraline.
Lets not forget shes as cute as a BUTTON in the EYES of anyone who has ever laid eyes on coraline
So true!😲
She's a peach: The Beldam wants to eat her
She's a doll: Beldam made a doll of her
She's a pal of mine: He doesn't want to harm her.
She's as cute as button in the eyes of everyone who ever laid their eyes on Coraline: Self explanatory
When she comes around exploring, Mom and I will never ever make it boring: The Beldam will continue to lure Coraline away with treats games and other things.
Our eyes will be on Coraline: The Beldam will sew buttons onto Coraline's eyes.
YES SO TRUE! The poor Father! He was trying to warn her!
now thats deep
Coraline is terrifyingly brilliant. A child while watching with think about how Coraline’s parents failed her. But a adult or young adult will understand how want, greed and unappreciative behaviour can bring a child to lose everything they love. Brilliant.
Bella S. I also see that it mirrors life grass isn't always greener
Actually as I kid I thought the moral was be careful what you wish for and STAY AWAY FROM STRANGERS
But Coraline's parents did fail her.
@@רוניבןעזרא-ו6ש Well there's not specifically bad parents. They just aren't really involved. They're poor and REALLY need to get that gardening catalogue done. Because it's their job. And we see that they do absolutely care for Coraline. They just don't have the means to be around her
Not really true
Did you mean: the whole damn movie
danni boi for real
Nah
Me before video:hmmm let's see
Me after video: THIS IS LIKE THE WHOLE MOVIE!!!!!!!!
I can relate to this comment
**NOD**
I was about to say that
Seriously nobody notices how the other father tried to warn Coraline about the danger in the other world with his song? He does it subliminally...
María del Castillo González how does he warn her?
@@kloo_less "our eyes will be on Coraline" ..literally
"Nobody notices"? You mean EVERYBODY notices, I've just found probably ELEVEN comments not including yours about that 😂😂😂
I know write!
She’s a cute as a ‘button in the eyes’
The other father was such a nice guy.....
Chan Philip he was, giving Coraline ghost child’s eyes too
He was! Until he was tortured and eventually died.
It was so sad 😫
that part scared me cool phew
Chan Philip yeah ikr ;-;
I think a shocking moment was when Coraline threw the cat at The Other Mother. That was ballsy.
@@Mariam_197 if the cat died or got trapped or something I would literally cry
ye i would not of threw the cat at her
I gotta hand it to Coraline, I still can’t understand her bravery. I would probably die of a panic attack the first minute I entered the other world.
I just... Wouldn't go in a weird tunnel that seems to appear only at night. Bobinsky warned her even though he didn't actually know about the door and so did the two old ladies.
I would have pissed myself yet fight back

@@godzilla4005 it's so pretty though! LOL I'd be a goner because I'd definitey go to the other world XD

@@ZehPerson lol thats true Haha
when this movie first came out, i was probably like five years old. i remember i had a little door just like the one coraline had in her house right outside in the backyard and i was terrified of walking past it because i thought the other mother was there waiting for me
danni boi she was. You just had to open that door.
danni boi omg same
Same! I only wanted to go in the other world for the food 😂
I was born this year of 2009
I have one in my room and i lay awake at night staring at it.😂😂😂
I think they made it buttons because when you have buttons stitched into your eyes, you can't sleep, keeping her trapped there forever, because when Coraline goes to sleep, she wakes up in her own world.
Wolfang
There is one scene where she sleeps and still wakes up in the other world. So i don't think buttons is the one keeping them from the real world.
No, its because dolls typically have buttons for eyes and so its like hr doll
That's the Other Mother's choice
The eyes are the door to the soul
@@l.bandproud9506 Coralline didn't teleport by sleeping. I just think that the other mother or mice carried her to the first bed :)

Yes it would be perfect
Aardvark Ag Smiles if they did how do you know?
They put in the DoppleFather's song so high and they end up talking about how nice and cheery it is but I was expecting them to mention how eerie and kinda dark the lyrics are compared to the carefree tune.

Lakia needs to make more movies with female protagonists
Khalid Henry oh yeah... i just noticed it...maybe.. most of the protagonists in movies or animated movies are female...so... they kinda mix it up..
Exactly. I think their next movie (Missing Link 2019) is the first with an adult protagonist but they need to make another one with a female protagonist, this film was gold.
Khalid Henry YASSSS
I think they need to try using an adult protagonist. I mean all of Lakia's protagonists are kids who have to do everything on their own while all the adults are basically useless save for Kubo's parents.
YAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSS!

" She's a peach, *She's a doll,* She's a pal of mine!"
" *Our eyes will be on Coraline!* "
my top 10 best parts are:
1. The garden. That scene was just so eerie and pretty at the same time, and it's easily the best animation of the movie. It stands if you look at it just as a demonstration of stop-motion beauty.
2. The mouse circus. I thought this was so sweet, cute, and just represented the weird, eerie, but fun nature of the movie.
3. The doll creation at the beginning. This was possibly the creepiest part and it was only the beginning! The animation and music are great, too.
4. The play. This was so funny! I liked how it made the movie as a whole more mature, unique, and lighthearted at the same time.
5. Climax. Very creative and well-animated.
6. Exploring the house. I don't know, this seems like a very well-designed scene.
7. Other Father's song. I loved how fun and disturbing this song was. It lasts about twenty seconds, but makes four or five references to the Other Mother's wickedness.
8. End. I thought this was a satisfying ending that also left the door open (pun intended) for a sequel.
9. Meeting Wybie. I liked Wybie as a character and I also liked how it established Coraline's personality.
10. Meeting the ghost children. I liked the creepiness of this.
Nice!
IDK why but the play was awkward to me.
5:04 clues of the ghost children’s life. Their silhouettes hanging up on the wall in the dining room.
I honestly love the characters in the Other World and how Coraline defeats these demons. Also how The Other Father gives her the soul because he doesn't want any more children to get insnared in this trap.
I just love the cat. I just find him so cool.
This movie is a masterpiece, I hope they make more like it in the future.
I wish there would be a sequel, especially of the movie. I liked the movie better than the book.
the scene where coralines real parents were trapped in the mirror was truly one of the most horrifying scenes in the film, making you realize how life changing things were about to become for coraline, i feel like it should’ve been added in the list along with the scene where coraline said goodnight to her parents that she made out of pillows, such a heartbreaking scene and watching that back when i was a child it made me realize how important my parents were to me, i started crying when i first saw that scene years ago.
I FLIPPING LOVE CORALINE
Same here
It’s scary, and I don’t like that
This is my childhood movieeee
The other father really was a good guy. Notice at 5:31 he smiles when Coraline refuses to let the other mother sew the buttons on to her eyes
Edit: also he was trying to warn her by saying “so sharp you won’t feel a thing”
Just a theory of mine
I use to work at an after school program for kindergartners to fifth graders and I had them watch this movie and almost all of them cried! Haha
Dest Martinez lol you so evil 😂😂😂
Dest Martinez
Well was it funny
Wow you're one cool guy haha. I would do anything just to see their reactions. 😂😂😂😂
I feel bad for the kids
Dest Martinez lord you need some holy water😂😂
I introduced my husband to this movie today and he instantly fell in love with it. I was so giddy sitting back and watching him glued to the tv 🤣🥰
For me the best part is
When the other father is nice and tried to help coraline by giving the ghost’s eye before he dies
He even said “ Sorry. So sorry. Mother making me”
Coraline scared me to death when I watched it when I was younger. Almost 10 years later, it's one of my favourite movies.
The other Father's song is also foreshadowing
If a talking cat warns me about a place I’m listening 😂😂
The doll making scene was a great part as well!
For me this movie was actually scary for so many reasons but I like some parts of Caroline what I like is that the lesson I learned is to appreciate the love of our parents and what they do for us 💖
My favorite part was when Wybie told Coraline that she was crazy. Then she threw a shoe at him
Lowkey mine as well haha
This movie NEEDS a number two.
No
NO IT DOES NOT
Needs a shit???
plot twist: Coraline never really escaped. it was all a trick to make coraline believe that she was free after finding the ghost children’ eyes but the fact is that she’s still trapped
Coraline will forever be my favorite movie ♥
Luigi Marinus 3 sure it’s scary but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a great movie, I personally think it adds to the story and if it wasn’t scary the movie wouldn’t be nearly as good 😊
Ughhhhhhhh I always wanted a boyfriend like Wybie he’s so cute
I was lowkey scared of him.
"he's so cute" uhh.. yeaaa sure.
@@juniuws Wdym? He is.
I love this movie *SO* much!! I walked in on my dad watching it when I was 4, it terrified me. 2 months later I curled up on the couch and watched it *alone*, I liked it but still a little scary. 8 years later(now)I’ve watched it so many times(in honor of my dad’s death) that I know the whole dialogue of the movie😅
I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope watching it helped. I wish you could have been able to talk about it with him.
Am I the only one who literally fell in love with Wybie as soon as he called coraline “jonesy” It was so cute 😂😂😂💖
Jolee Stephens yes sameee
He didn't want to offend her, because he couldn't say her first name properly, but that nickname is soooooo adorable!
"so sharp you wont feel a thing" Thats Not How Sharp Things Work
Honestly how can someone get scared of this movie 😂. It’s not scary it’s awesome I would of loved if coraline said yes to the other mother
heather ennis same. When I was little I always wanted ger do take the butons.I watched the movue over and over again and hoped maybe this time she says yes
Yes, it is awesome when I was little I was just scared of when the other mother transformed 😂
heather ennis I can see how someone would get scared of this movie but I do also LOVE CORALINE such a good movie
So you would want needles to pierce your eyes and then have her eat her soul and then trapped in their world forever?
Johnny Draws honestly ya
Great video's and thanks for this video i love the movie
I love how mystical this movie is and how it makes little details interesting. Such as the triangle shaped stone she gets in real world, that was said to help you find lost things, is capable of showing, where the ghostchildren eyes are.
This is a good movie but is kinda scary
It is a very creepy movie I’m scarred for life at that web scene
I LOVE THIS MOVIE I'VE WATCHED IT SO MANY TIMES!!! I've actually picked up on a few things. The other fathers' song (for example) had a deeper meaning....... If you listen closely to the lyrics it becomes clear that he was trying to warn Her about the other mothers' intentions
Another bonus about the Other-Father's song, it's actually a warning.
This movie is fricking terrifying
emma watson And good at the same time.
I haven't watched this movie in a while. At first a LONG time ago, I was super bored or scared by this movie. I honestly can't remember which one it was lol. But when I saw it on Netflix, I REALLY loved it. I actually watched it every single day after that for like a whole week! But now I don't really watch it that much anymore.
Am I the only one who didn’t find this movie scary and loved it at first sight ?
nope me to
Same
Nope when I was little I didn't even think it was scary but now it's pretty creepy
Me too, i was only 8 haha
I was four so I couldn’t sleep for a week💀😂
I think the number one pick should've been "Coraline getting the doll spy". It's so creepy, but at the same time it's very cute to see Coraline react to having a doll version of herself
I love this movie! It's one of my favorites and it scared me the first time I watched it.
I like this movie because it Terrified me more than anything for about a decade but when I finally got to a time when I was old enough to handle it, I enjoyed it a LOT. Because it terrified me for so long, even though it doesn’t scare me anymore, it still makes my heart feel like it’s about to pound out of my chest! No other movie does that for me on second viewings!
So freaking sad when I saw Other Wybie’s clothes hanging on the top of the house blowing in the wind. Even Coraline’s reaction calling out “You evil witch” to the Other Mother. Hurt so much to see that.
Awesome I love this movie.
The opening scene deserves at least an honorable mention
Who else isn’t scared of this movie ? I watched this at the age of 6 and I’m still in love with this movie !
THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE I HAVE THE WHOLE THING MEMORIZED THANK YOU FOR GIVING IT THE RECOGNITION IT DESERVES
Man I love the father trying to make it better "so sharp you won't feel a th- OW" and another call as to how he's not under her control.
Such an amazing film
okay but like coraline never really defeated the other mother.
the other mother has been luring children for hundreds of years, there’s no way an 11 year old girl could outsmart her at her own game. coraline is trapped in the other mothers 2nd world. okay so hear me out, coraline goes through the tunnel coming from the real world to the other mother’s world that she created for coraline. the 2nd time coraline goes back to the “real” world, everything is different. her parents are missing and the world is gloomy and dark. when coraline realizes her parents are missing she doesn’t call 911 and she’s 11. coraline then goes to miss some spink and miss forcable (don’t know how to spell their names) who are grown adults and they don’t call 911 either. i think any adult would either try to help coraline find her parents or call 911. the reason they didn’t call 911 is because they were so worried about going to that theater show. the reason being is, that’s how the other mother sees them. then finally at the very end of the movie when coraline thinks she has escaped the other mother, she has not. the most notable reason being that the cat is still able to teleport at the very end of the movie and in the other mother’s 1st world the cat said that he could only teleport in the other mother’s world. also coraline’s parents disappeared because the other mother took them. they were gone for an entire day and when they got out of the snow globe they were trapped in, they didn’t even realize it had been a whole day. coraline’s parents had an important gardening catalog coming up soon so i think they would have realized if an entire day had just passed by. so coraline is still trapped in the other mother’s world at the very end of the movie and the reason the other mother let coraline think that she actually defeated her is so she can feel safe and let her guard down. but yeah that’s just my theory on it after watching it at least 1000 times.
@@someaccountihaveyes.5998 I mean she calls the police in the book, but even if somebody DID call 911, it would be a stupid idea to. You'd only get fined for wasting the police's time.
I love this film. Thank you for uploading this video Msmojo
I can’t say how much I adore this movie 🖤 or just in general stop motion, it’s the only animation that has the ability to be creepy, or just eerie. It takes so much effort to create and the people who make stop motion movie are so talented! Yes this film scarred my childhood and when I was younger I was too afraid to really appreciate this film
How did you not put the opening credits ANYWHERE
This genuinely my favourites movie I can watch this over and over again I’ll feel like I’m watching it for the first time the suspense is amazing 💙
Great list for an incredible movie! Would've loved for the scene where the other mother changes into the beldam to be included too!
Wait! Wheres the part when Coraline says to Wybie , “I think they were calling you, Why were you born” That Joke was hilarious!
I like the dinner scene in the other world best
One of the best animated films ever made. Arguably the best one ever made..
I love Coraline too!
The nightmare before Christmas and coraline
have to be the most amazing movies ever
I swear i was just watching this last night
I remember when I was like 11, trying to watch Coraline without getting too scared was always a challenge (I still always thought it was a good film).
When I came in these comment sections I was so glad to find that many other people found this film terrifying too!
We need a sequel dammit
Eddie Reyes What could they do for a sequel. If that did happen, then I'm pretty sure it would be a watered down version.
Strange Waffle Guy Could make it about the neighbors. Whyborn did have a grandmother that experienced supernatural causes.
Eddie Reyes Well it can't be Coraline 2 if it's not about Coraline. They'd have to rename the entire film to Whyborn and either give Coraline a supporting role or just not have her appear at all.
Here's an idea for a short
Coraline much older in her home looking through old photos , photos of friends family etc then the photo of her with her parents in front of the pink palace. She smirks but then smirks turns into a frown . Then you hear a baby cry . Coraline then packs the photos back into a shoebox sets it back on a shelf walks out of the room and closes the door
No we don’t
Im obsessed with the music they use in the movie
''Top 10 Best Coraline Moments''
number 1: The whole movie
The whole opening sequence should get an honorable mention - I'd never seen anything as creepy as those hands ripping into the doll and stitching it back together.
Everyday i grab my bowl of pizza rolls and turn on Netflix and watch this! 💕💕🤷 The other father was so nice he gave her the children's eyes and he tried to tell her about how upset he really was but then the other mother pulled him away.. 😣😯
The other father was my favorite. He didn’t want to do the awful things the bedlam was making him do, he wanted to help coraline.
I would be wearing my Coraline shirt when you guys posted this
