- I recently got the opportunity to sit down with Canadian theologian Brad Jersak (bradjersak.com/) and a group of his students for a conversation about decluttering your beliefs and finding your way by means of losing it. In fact, this might be the first time I’ve chatted about the first time I heard about deconstruction on camera - I hope you enjoy hearing about my experience as much as I love sharing it.
This conversation is full of laughter and depth. We explore what it means to question beliefs without violating the people you love when you’re on a spiritual journey.
Any spiritual journey is scary. My journey from Evangelical pastor to Exvangelical artist has been full of dark and difficult times. If you would like to join a community that affirms, validates, and supports you through it, I’m glad you’ve found us. Join the conversation on my socials.

Along the way, we need to "deconstruct" the wall we attempt to erect around Grace. We may know where Grace is, but we do not know where it is not. There is no darkness into which the light of Grace cannot penetrate.
Maybe you should except the invitation to the nudist colony.
That kind of publicity would BOOST your message. I'm serious.
lol probably
❤yes the Tentacles of my Festering Fundamentalism were quite invasive!
Indeed they can be.
I’m going through my Dark Night of the soul. I blame myself, I thought I was trans and then I found out I was Autistic, but I find out they’re related.
Dark nights of the soul are good!
The need or want to control peoples money I think is more accurate why they want to control you. It is pocketbook religion that is the insidious reality.
Fascinating conversation! Such witty pictures too. Thank you 🙏 🫡
Glad you enjoyed it!
The opportunity to feel free with each other is a constant uknown and makes the relationship even more fascinating. Yet this quality is even harder to be found. Wonderful to watch your "free tribe" :)
Thank you Dorota.
Two of our favorites ✅✅❤️❤️
thank you!
Kudos & "a few hundred 'Thank You's"!
Many thanks!
Great interview David!
If only the sound was better for an old fellow like me. Someone who embraced Christianity in mid life. Someone who accepted Protestant literal fundementalism as taught. Someone who asking the H.S. to lead as I "devoured" his Bible, came to see things somewhat different to the Consensus of my bretren. Now called a heretic this someone enjoyed years in the wilderness, gave Protestant "church going" one more try, but soon "outside" again by continually being challenged by dogma rather than love and acceptance. Since then this Christ centred old man has been blessed with U Tube with gracious messages from the such likes of Brad, Paul Young, Brian Zhand, Richard Rohr, Rob Bell etc.
David as you said, that cartoon you loved best says it all. Jesus who demonstrated the Christ is busy at work rubbing out the lines, which seperate our humanity which our denominations insist on. The "them and us" scenario!
Today this someone worships what ALL mankind perceive as God, by following the leading of that same Spirit which animated his Lord and Saviour. And hell and judgement? Here Protestantism/ Mediaeval Roman Catholicism has done humanity a great disservice, by using fear of everlasting torment as a means to evangelize. Result, especially last several decades, the "buildings" are rapidly emptying, sadly to the vanity of pleasure, comfort and false self seeking life in what after all is only passing. Many many thanks to those mentioned above for the true Gospel of God's unrelenting love through his unbound grace and mercy. If only this someone could have more fellowship with this same Spirit empowered people in his neighbourhood, empowered with open humble and contrite hearts. Shalom to you both, loved the talk.❤️
Thank you so much!
this is so awesome
Thank you!
