USA-1 is a monster truck that was competing during the 1980s and 1990s, named after a Chevrolet ad campaign. It competed against Bigfoot in the first televised monster truck race on the American television show That's Incredible! in 1983.[1] The truck was initially painted blue before it was repainted in white.[2]
Everett Jasmer built and raced the truck in the late 1970s.[2] USA-1 was a consistent winner in the mid-to-late 1980s with Steve Wilke and Rod Litzau sharing the driving, and is best known for its many wins and legendary crashes. It won the 1988 TNT Monster Truck Racing Series championship.[2] It was one of the last nationally competitive monster trucks to use a leaf spring suspension. Everett contacted Mark Hall, co-owner of Raminator, to campaign a USA-1 body in 1992 on their Executioner chassis. In the next year, Everett had Kirk Dabney campaign the body on his Nitemare 4 chassis. USA-1 stopped racing in the early 1990s, after the folding of the TNT Monster Truck Racing Series. As of March 2008, Everett owns the original vehicles and the trademark to the name.[3] He has been trying to find a racing series that meets his vision of professional monster truck racing. In November 2011, Everett Jasmer was inducted into the International Monster Truck Hall of Fame.
A monster truck is a specialized truck with a heavy duty suspension, four-wheel steering, and oversized tires constructed for competition and entertainment uses. Originally created by modifying stock pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUVs), they have evolved into purpose-built vehicles with tube-frame chassis and fiberglass bodies rather than metal. A competition monster truck is typically 12 feet (3.7 m) tall, and equipped with 66-inch (1.7 m) off-road tires.
Monster trucks developed in the late 1970s and came into the public eye in the early 1980s as side acts at popular motocross, tractor pulling, and mud bogging events, where they were used in car-crushing demonstrations. Today they are usually the main attraction with motocross, mud bogging, ATV racing, or demolition derbies as supporting events.
The Chevrolet Silverado is a range of trucks manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand. Introduced for the 1999 model year, the Silverado is the successor to the long-running Chevrolet C/K model line. Taking its name from the top trim level from the Chevrolet C/K series, the Silverado is offered as a series of full-size pickup trucks, chassis cab trucks, and medium-duty trucks. The fourth generation of the model line was introduced for the 2019 model year.
The Chevrolet Silverado shares mechanical commonality with the GMC Sierra; GMC ended the use of the C/K nomenclature a model generation prior to Chevrolet. In Mexico, heavy-duty versions of the Silverado use the Chevrolet Cheyenne name. Competing against the Ford F-Series, Dodge Ram, Nissan Titan, and Toyota Tundra, the Silverado is among the best-selling vehicles in the United States, selling almost 12 million examples since its introduction.
Now, if only they can give us the old school Bigfoot kit (80's or early 90's)
YYEESS
Yes, like I say, would be AWESOME
And the Rammunition kit!
The Bigfoot 10 with a new decal sheet is coming out in April. I'd love to see them release all of the Bigfoot trucks, and the Destroyer variations as well. I love the USA-1 and Coca Cola models. I have 30 of the Chevy monster truck models that I did multiple other trucks. I have almost 100 monster truck models in total.
@@adamtereska8734 Darn, I was hoping for Bigfoot 4 or below
@@Jasonps3 we could possibly still get it with the 88 body, hopefully.
Just an FYI for anyone building this kit, the fender flares don't fit this body. They're left over from the original Bigfoot 1 kit and will fit the Firestone 78 Ford kit however.
Thanks for the tip!
I would just like to see them re-release the AMT Silverado normal pickup versions, short and long bed as well as the dually.
And the 454SS!
I wonder if the body is the same. If it is I’d buy it just for the body
AMAZING BUILD, THANK YOU BROTHER FOR THIS BUILD. I absolutely love your videos no matter if it's a review of model kits or other things your reviewing. Keep them coming brother because we all love them. Sometimes people get caught up way to much on it must be factory perfect down to every tiny detail, (I was 1 of those people), and I wasn't having fun building anymore and I was missing out out why I started building in the 1st place. IT'S FUN that's why I started, and I wasn't taking the time to really show my kids the absolute joy in the hobby and your videos kind of snapped me out of the soo serious about everything building. My kids and I set up times now when we watch your videos and just build for the fun of it. Sorry so long, Thank you very much for sharing.
Thanks a lot! Keep having fun!
Nice. Glad the Big Trucks are back. Thanks.
Me too!
Another great build. I would love one of those, just to see the looks on people's faces seeing me drive it, and I would, for sure, need a ladder to get into it.
Pass everything but a gas station! They get something like 1.5 mpg
That would be cool!
@@jlovell40831 but the SMILES per gallon would be infinite.
@@adamtereska8734 you got a point there
Came out nice. I still have the El Camino, the Destroyer, and Big Foot...had em since the 80s
Thanks a lot!
I have 2 of the El Camino, the Datsun tow truck, (the original version, not the repop) 2 of the Dodge pickup, and pretty much almost all of them in multiples I built over the years. I want the Bronco yet. I'd love to see Round 2 reissue all of them.
I just bought the early 80s bigfoot model off Facebook marketplace. Its a complete unbuilt kit that im going to display with the usa-1 reissue from a couple of years ago
Glad to see this kit return with nice updates. I still have my original , well what is left of it over the years of moves. Plan to scoop up the new release.
I dig the western music mostly because of instrumentals. Nice truck. USA USA USA!
Glad you like it!
You could wish for Gravedigger, too. That turned out really nice, Chris.
Revell has the Digger license, we'll hope they repop it!
SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! WE'LL SELL YOU THE WHOLE SEAT, BUT YOU'LL ONLY NEED THE EDGE! I remember those old radio ads for the monster truck events. Great build!
Kids seats only five bucks!!
Thanks Jim!
See you at the track this SUNDAY!!!!!!!!
Great video! The look of that interior took me back to when I drove a Chevy 1500 w/t that has the same color of red. And about 15 years ago I bought one of these and a A team van and combined them to make a sweet monster Van
I've been wanting this kit for like 30 years but never did so very happy it's back.
Enjoy!
This makes me happy! I hope they rerelease the BigFoot monster truck.
Thanks a lot!
Aaaaa, the Monster Truck kit!!
Nice video Chris.... Makes me want to go visit the Monster Truck Museum in Northern Indiana........ 😉👌👍🙂
That would be cool!
Looks awesome. I've never built a monster truck. This has to change. Like you, I'd love see Bigfoot and the Grave Digger come back. Thank you Chris. Can't wait to see what's next. :D
That would be cool!
USA-1, Bigfoot, and Gravedigger came to South Texas in the late eighties and put on one heck of a show. That time Gravedigger took top honors.
.
Sweet!
Very cool build my friend! What I remembers most about the Monster Trucks coming to our town is the commercial...
The guy with a deep voice saying SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY MONSTER JAM ! Get your tickets......lol
Right on!
Awesome build of a killer kit .
The work on the suspension alone , omg .
SOOO KOOOOOLLLL .
Thanks Mike!
This came out really nice, I've built two monster trucks and it's always fun.
It really is!
Awesome build
Glad you think so!
Another nice build/review of a great kit.
Thank you kindly!
Killer build Chris, your incredible joy of this kit is contagious!! I believe this presentation will generate a lot of sales for Round2models, well done!!
Thanks a lot!
Super nostalgic for me... This was the first model i put together as a kid 30+ years ago.
Awesome, I love all the good times these kits remind me of too!
Dam that is one awesome build Sir,
A credit to your skills and patience.
Love it.
Love ur content sir keep up the great work and stay amazing and inspire others much love
Thank you! Will do!
Great build looks good I got a big foot kit coming in the mail can't wait to tackle it .I built the old version of this kit and its a good one but the new one looks a lil better , ohh and I tried the mod podge for the 1st time on some clear glass that stuff worked great so easy no messy residue.
Right on!
Looks great Chris, KUTGW buddy. P.s. What does the H.P.I. Stand for, just curious 🤨.
Happy Guy's Workshop
Thanks!
Very Nicely Done Chris, God Bless All.
Thank you kindly!
You're Welcome Sir.
Sweet build looks awesome
Glad you like it!
Just a beautiful build Chris. I'm with ya, I'd like to see some re-releases of the Bigfoot kits. Especially the first one!
You and me both!
Nicely done. I did one last summer and it came in a nice tin box that opens up like a suitcase. It's a fun build.
Very cool!
Man, what a beauty! Nicely built. I can imagine making a drag truck out of this one. Using that blown engine, modify the chassis a bit, stick some big meats out the back. Would be a killer drag racing machine! A USA-1 drag truck!
Thanks Mark!!
Damn Chris! These builds keep getting better! I really like this one... PERFECTO!
Thanks James!
Right before the pandemic started, I bought tickets for the "Monster Jam" monster truck rally. They keep moving the date, farther in to the future, so they don't have to give refunds. Its almost been one year. 😭
Sounds like something Monster Jam would do.
Sorry to hear that
I'm in the same boat with my daughter and a certain My Chemical Romance concert. I just hope that, by the time they hold the concert, she still cares about the band.
Very nice build. You always do a amazing job. You are one I watch when working on my models. So thank you
Thanks 👍
Battle of the Monster Truck-truck-truck-trucks!!
That, and the old tractor pulls. Good ol' TNN!
And Swamp Buggy racing!
Just ordered mine via your link. I was hoping to pick this up locally, but the store where I buy model kits either never got in any, or they sold out before I could get my hands on one.
Enjoy!
@@hpiguy Oh, I will. I loved the monster truck kits as a kid. I remember building the "Quadzilla" kit and the "Devastator" 6x6 monster semi (that I bought at Sea World, of all places). Both were Monogram kits. I don't think I ever got my hands on any of the AMT monster trucks.
Everyone keep yourself and love ones safe and healthy and REMEMBER TO SMILE BECAUSE IT'S SUPPOSE TO BE FUN. THANKS AGAIN
Thanks a lot!
kool kit , great build/review.....keep'em comin
Robert
Thanks, will do!
These are such great kits to build. The only thing I don't care for is the wrong rear bumper and no in cab cage. The only alteration I do isnon the taillight area. I paint the backside of the taillights silver to bring out the red more. It actually looks like the lights are on.
Very nice I too would like to see Big Foot it was the first monster truck I saw way back when
That would be cool!
Thank you for sharing. The best channel. I look forward to all of you builds.
Glad you like them!
Really cool build!!! Really like the detail that you put into your builds, very cool.
I built a snap together Grave Digger many years ago. I detailed it pretty good to make it look better, even took the tires outside and dirtied them up with actual mud and dirt, lol. It had stickers for the graphics which I really didn't like but after clear coating, they looked nice.
The USA 1 was always my favorite. Beautiful
Thanks!
Nice. I would love for Kyosho to rerelease the USA-1.
Tjhat was a cool RC!
awseome build i remember watching them 2 ty keep them coming
Thanks!
Awesome truck back when monster truck was still real trucks
Yeah!
Awesome Job Chris! That truck came out just Beautiful!
Great build love the monster trucks you don't need to be perfect make it dirty maybe a little damage. Great build Chris have a great week.
Right on!
@@hpiguy changed my channel name trying to start uploading videos my self.
Just finished building the Coca Cola Kit and loved it and turned out great. This kit will be next, great video.
Great to hear!
Outstanding video and presentation
Thank you very much!
Great build love your videos
Glad you like them!
Awesome mate, I definitely have to get one of these.
Thanks Gary!
I'm at the better end of this kit . Bits of it haven't easy but the quality of this kit is good .
Nice build Chris don't forget if they come out with the grave digger monster truck you going to have to build that one 😃👍👍
For sure!!
Great job, as always. If I hadn't already ordered this kit, I definitely would have after seeing your video. Should be getting mine in a few days.
Awesome, thank you!
I been wanting this kit thank you for review. Have a great weekend.
Hope you enjoy it!
SUPER DUPER TIGHT !!!
Oh yeah!
Awesomesauce! I remember watching the monster trucks at my cousin's place - because they had a color TV! LOL P.S. - maybe I'll grab one and make it for him!!
Enjoy!
this is rockin!! GLORIOUS
Thanks a lot!
just pushed the 1000 like button.
Nice man👍. You make it look easy. Takes me forever to get things done. Im gonna get me a brown towel see how that works.
LOL, it's not the towel, it's just practice over time. Enjoy!
Thanks Chris.
You bet!
Looks Awesome, Chris! Yes, Id love to see them bring back the Bigfoot Monster Truck kits again. Maybe even some more Monster Truck kits from AMT and MPC as well.
That would be cool!
Bigfoot and the more modern Rammunition would be fun.
MONSTER build - Number One...
Thanks RA!
AAAAAH..... Remember it well !
The good ole USA-1
Built at least one maybe Two of the Red,White & Blue !
Once again amazing job on the build ✌😎
I still remember when Bigfoot crushed 4 cars for the 1st time in front of 50.000 crazy fans ☺😎😉😊☺😎😉☺😎☺☺😎😆☺😆☺
Monster Trucks ruled the world for a few years anyway......
Monster trucks became as popular as Rockstars, Wrestlers and pro athletes back in the day 😆
Thanks!
Awesome job on the truck, Chris-great kit!!
Glad you like it!
this remind me the old days tv commercial USA one or heart beat of America that today Chevrolet Munster jam
You bet!
Awesome job.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great job Chris thank you for sharing keep them coming
Thanks, will do!
Big Foot, Bear Foot, and USA1. You need all three.
Yes!
Killer build
Thanks a lot!
Dude that’s awesome! I love your builds my friend!
Thanks a bunch!
Nice truck build
Glad you like it!
That brought back some good memories!!
Thanks!
What do you do to get your larger decals to go on smooth. I have trouble getting them to slide without sticking. I use hot water and mark fit but they still stick. Best solution?
Just use plenty of warm water for easy slide off of the decals. I use decal softening solution applied with a brush on the body first, then apply decals over the decal softening solution. Just be extra gentle while adjusting the position of the decals on the body. Once the decals are softened, they can tear easily, so be careful.
Try a teeny drop of dish soap in your water.
We need Bigfoot!
Just wow! Amazing work!
Thank you! Cheers!
What a great build. Thank you for the effort so much fun and learning.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice model like the moter looks cool
I got the original one and bigfoot #4 several years ago from walmart they were both together sold as one celifaned together but I was young and didn't do to good putting them together. And now I don't know where bigfoot is I want to get them and also want bigfoot #1 or #2 and the skoal bandit and Copenhagen crushers and Michigan ice monster as well. You did a awesome build I was really young when I did mine
Thanks!
This is a great kit just built it this summer during vacation. Just wish could have the Original Bigfoot and Gravedigger to a company it on display on the shelve the die cast are okay but their scale is way off. So AMT what about it bring the monster trucks to your garage and fill the void of us modelers
Hell yea
Thanks a lot!
the distributor to me looks larger and better than what I see in a lot of 1/25 scale models
I wish someone would make a kit of the old Monster Patrol with the chev snoop nose body
What a cup holder in a monster truck, got to get one of these. I would have thought there would be an interior roll cage! Other then that great kit
What a siiiickk job on this! Had to watch this during the Independence Day festivities! I was wondering what size socket you were planning on using for your tire technique! Another enjoyable watch and great build! USA!🇺🇸
Hey hpi we really need a model room tour we wanna see how many walls are covered with these kits
There is no wall, sorry. Most get stored or given away. Take care!
Sweet build, now get some models of whatever and make them appear to be crushed for a display.
Thanks a lot!
Very cool
Thanks a lot!
Cool mate👍
Thanks!
Love it!
Thanks!!
23:49 After seeing you do this on the last build I pickup the Sharpie Ultra Fine Point marker.
Saves me from buying the Tamiya translucent orange for now.
Sweet, enjoy!
Wow!!! I Reamber when I wanted that truck I built that 3 years ago now I have the snap tite one though that was the only one they had at the time still looks good though 😃
Very cool!
Excellent work my good man. Just wish they would've got the engine right. Thats a small block, when he actually ran a 572 big block. Nevertheless, it looks magnificent!
Thanks!
The axle is called Rockwell
I think this was the first model my dad taught me how to build when I was a kid. I love that vintage gold testors paint! I assume thats the bottle you revived in the DIY paint shaker vid?
The same!
Fun fact: Those optional fender flares in this kit are not for the Chevy, they are from the original Bigfoot 1 kit, the 1979 Ford that we all hope Round 2 re-releases.
Thanks!
