Extremely professional review, mate. Very well made and your commentary is both detailed and interesting, whilst still being concise and to the point. Thank you for your time and effort (subscribed).
You know, when I click on reviews by random people, I don't expect them to be this well-organized and coherent. Nice review - answered just about every question I had!
Honestly, this is a much better review than I expected. I have Canyon and Stadium. Now I'll look into Valley, too! You have a nice sense of criticism and it's entertaining to listen to your voice. Keep it up.
No, but I use the X/A button configuration for throttle and braking. I see the gamepad advantage coming from having analog control over the steering. Seeing how most tracks that I've seen in the game are asphalt-only, I'd say that being able to minutely contol apex after apex is what gives me better times than most, but that's not necessarily the rule of thumb on every track, of course.
Ah then I heard wrong but yeah of course your right, I found it weird that on a trackmania finale competition all 3 finalist were playing with the keyboard. I was wondering if they somehow forbid you to play any other way because I would not play any other way than gamepad or steering wheel.
I'm not entirely sure if you can turn opponents off. There is an option in the 'settings' window you can bring up before launching the game that let's you limit the amount of visible opponents, but it's grayed out and I don't know how to change it. Personally, I like Stadium out of the three, but I'm FAR better at Valley than any others. I just wish Valley had a wider variety of blocks to work with, some of these obstacles are getting just too predictable...
Nice review! I play TM since the golden days of TM sunrise and the old TM stadium ESWC with a keyboard, I kinda got used to it, even participated in some ESL events! But after trying Canyon I understood the need of joypad and almost impossible, but still ended up not being my cup of tea. I still haven't tried valley since in came out... But if I like it I'll probably buy it.
Are you sure about the Keyboard/Controller part? Canyon had no analog throttle and keyboard players had a significant advantage, due to being able to switch between accelerating/braking much faster. Does Valley have analog throttle?
Wish I could tell you for sure, but I've had a major rig upgrade since Canyon came out. I'd say they're about the same though since they're built off the exact same engine.
Love it. Totally worth the $10. But honestly, I suck hard at driving on those banked walls that just about every server seems to have, so I don't play it as often :/
hmm why do you say "Players shouldn't play with a controller and steering wheel anyway" why wouldn't you want to play with that, alot more control and feels nicer?

Wow! Very good review! I'm surprized this video isn't getting much attention!

I only watch Gamespot and IGN review games, but I have to admit - your review is the best player-review I've seen. I'm really impressed. Well done =)
I play with a gamepad but I think keyboard is still pretty viable if not better. A steering wheel is a disadvantage though.
Very professionally made review!
@2:44 A classic. That's why I love Trackmania.

Good video, you should make more.

great review man, really insightful!

I hope they will make a more realistic one, such as Coast from Trackmania United. That would be amazing.
Trackmania and realistic. You are funny.
Great review
Is there a download link to this game? If so, please let me know immediately. Thanks.
Did not even realize that 0.o Show's how much I actually look at the key bindings XD

Things i don't like are: More narrow roads than wide. No red speedups. No platform mode. Wall right after the finish line
+Ksepastremenos You shouldn't complain about those things

I actually said that serious players should be playing with a gamepad or steering wheel. I can't stand trying to race with the keyboard in this game.
the thing you say at around 2:38 with the cars..
press o ;)
What's better, this or canyon?
you need canyon to play this...canyon is "drifty" style and this ir rally style racing and its really good both :D
***** Nope Trackmania 2: Stadium, Valley and Canyon games are Standalone from each other.
really? so theres something new :) I remember, that they said, that you neec canyon to have others... :D
I've had hundreds of games and still I have no
idea what I want to play. It's deppressing really.
game just came out
Well i understood that the cars were blocking your view :$
trackmania 2 canyon has destructable(cosmetic) cars
hmm why do you say "Players shouldn't play with a controller and steering wheel anyway" why wouldn't you want to play with that, alot more control and feels nicer?
HAHAHAHAHHAHAA!!! Sorry... I just remembered how miserable console peasants are...
