Joey! Thank you so much for this Barkerville video. This is a special place for my husband and I. We were married in the Methodist church in 2010. The Wells Hotel was where we stayed and also our guests stayed. It was magickal. Thank you again, Joey. Your children are beautiful. Greetings from PG.

Wow! Barkerville sure looks different from in the early 70's when I last saw it. It looks like a lot more buildings have been renovated or saved.
I'm glad you could take the kids back there, Joey.

It sounds like it felt like coming home ❤
Having lived in Quesnel for a bit now, Barkerville is my happy place. When I go there, I feel part of the land and the buildings there, so I have a small understanding of the connection you must have. I'm so glad to hear of your day today.

we dug up horseshoes by accident during the fire when our crew was at Grouse Creek...the history in that town doesn't feel like 'history' to me. We are making history still right now here.

I had my lunches at Lung Duck Tong paid for by investors and gold CEO's when I was part of the mine. You know, it's still happening. We're still here and alive. This is our valley.

Oh and it was great to see your footage in the winter. We've only ever been there during the summer. It looked just like I imagined it would.
Would love to make one of their Christmas's but a bit too far for us to go in the winter I'm afraid.

@@yvonnehillsden it was always winter I liked it the best. Would always go for walks through the park, used to film forecast clips there often. It will be so again.

Aww, happy for you to go back. Expressing your gratitude publicly like that, and sharing the special day with your kids goes along way to building more positive memories and relationships going forward. The kids won't remember the year they missed out. They'll remember the positive memories you build with them in the months and years ahead. I always remember outings with my Dad and the way he made me feel loved and special. He always kept some Lifesavers or Mentos in his pocket too. A little candy goes a long way for kids!! in Seems like you pushed through a difficult year and it paid off. Take care and Happy holidays, Joey. 🎄

In my area of BC management positions over parks have been assigned by gender and I fear some of our parks our beyond rehabitiliation now. Some of these "care takers" being their children who act as if they have nothing better to do than harass and intimidate young children on the premises.
We need care takers, not entitled takers who ruin, I hope Barkerville goes on for many generations.
