I agree, the bad part is actually winning at first because that is how they get you. It's the dopamine and then boom your addicted. And when you win, what happens next? You lose it all back. Not because you suck or anything but because it's gambling. The money goes back and forth but more to the casino. I relapsed today and played blackjack again. Online blackjack is just so easy to get into. It's crazy, but no matter how much I win, I always end up losing it back. The only way to win is to just stop. I hope this message helps as well as your video did for others.
I agree with "The worst thing that can happen is winning" because you want to win more until you lose everything. It's time to stop gambling for me. Thanks for this video.
I sat at the table alone with the dealer playing blackjack. I bet the minimum. In 15 minutes I made $33.. A lady joined us halfway through that 15 minutes and within 5 she lost 1k.. After she left, I said wow Martin (the dealer) it's crazy that she lost my whole paycheck in 5 minutes and he said she has good luck on roulette but I see her all the time. Absolutely insane that people form an addiction to gambling but I 100% see how it would happen. I go to play blackjack every week at the same time same day...
Listening to this dude reason as to why it's OK to gamble with friends on poker night was where he derailed. Any one of those poker nights can be a trigger.
I am glad that you quit, good for you!!! I dealt BJ for 11 years in Las Vegas, NV, and I used to deal double and single deck BJ and dealt 250 + hands per hour. I dealt to many locals and out of State high rollers, and I watched them lose thousands of dollars. It was sad to see them chase their money. Gambling is a sucker bet, its like a drug addiction, the act of gambling becomes a habit when it no longer requires thought. The few winners are those who quit before the game starts.
I have been playing blackjack in casino for several years. I see blackjack as a hobby but a very expansive one indeed. But I just love playing blackjack at casino such that winning money is not the priority. I play using the basic strategy perfectly, flat betting at $30 single hand always. What interest me is that my bankroll literally moves like the share price of my stocks. Up and down, sometimes a long up run as if in a bull market, and a long down run like a bear market. I have a lifetime bankroll of $10k (if I lose all I may quit blackjack but if I still have good amount of surplus cash I may top up another $10k for bankroll). I see this as a blackjack account which I will not withdraw unless I need money for life needs. Currently my bankroll has been up reaching close to $12k. It has reached bottom at around $5k and then I have been lucky to recover the loss and now I'm ahead (all by flat betting and never chase lose with increased bet size). I foresee that one day my bankroll will be wiped out eventually. But when this happens, I see this as a charity to the casino industry that supports many employees and vendors.
A lot of truth and I do resonate with most of what you’ve said however. If you can spend the 200-300 hours it takes to count cards and with enough of a bankroll you can and ( if doing it correctly ) will win long term. This however is a ton of commitment and more than what 98% of gamblers are willing to take on. The margins are slim but beating the game of blackjack is possible.
Just watched this video. I’m a sports better and I’ve profited 10K 5K 6K etc from big bets, but I always donate it after to the online casino. My news years resolution is to never play the casino again.
I know that I will play blackjack until I am completely out of money. Even if im up a ton I will keep playing til its gone, but I still have the urge to play it. Weird
My first time playing, I went from 20 euros to 5000 euros but then lost everything, I was doing it for fun but that lost made me addict to get back my money, which I never did. I lost more than 15k euros net in the process of trying to get back my money.... overall loss more than 100k, I was desperate. I am fighting against this addiction right now.

If you have $12k and you're flat betting 30 bucks a hand, it'll take about 80 thousand hands (if my math is correct) to burn up that bankroll.
Interesting perspective
Nice vid
Thank you. What did u like about it?

I don’t have the patience to count cards 😃
@@justindamstrom8886 The casinos kick the card counters out anyway (or kick their heads in down the back alley).

It’s not weird. You go into compulsion

Exactly. Gambling leads to nothing but depression and anxiety.
