Oasis deserve credit for helping to revive the Beatles' way of composing music that stands the test of time, unlike so many of today's throw away music.

He’s absolutely bang on about how much harder it is to write a joyous song than a sad one. This explains the genius of The Beatles and ABBA. ABBA were particularly brilliant in combing the two qualities within a single song. ‘Dancing Queen’ is on the surface impossibly joyful, but underneath is this sense of melancholy that your golden youth is a passing thing.

Noel should consider a reunion, just plan it for when both brothers are less busy with their own projects and they could do a "Magic Whip" (Blur reference). If they just get together and make an album here and there and have the Band alongside solo careers always maintain your original product.

I saw many 60's bands later in their careers but when it's the bands of my era it is about more than the music. Oasis would never really be the same if they reformed. They'd play the music perfectly but all the attitude of their youth would be gone. It's true of all rock n roll bands and I realise I never really saw The Who or The Rolling Stones just the same guys playing their music from years earlier for cash.

Some really good nuggets here, as you would expect from Noel. But if Oasis gets in the Hall (an interesting debate), no way does he not show up. The only questions will be: Do Bonehead and McGuigan show, and does McCarroll get in at all. And of course, do they all play together for the 3 songs.

No Oasis = 90% less people will be touched and moved by Noel’s songs from now till his death as they won’t hear them. He’s where he is because of his amazing songs (which he knows that), but also because of Liam and Oasis (which not sure he appreciates). His fans hear him loud and clear but he doesn’t quite hear them. Holy Mountain would be much more special had it been on an Oasis album! Too bad he doesn’t quite see/get that.

What Noel may not realize is that the Hall of Fame doesn't invite the band, it invites the individual members. So when Journey was inducted, anyone who was ever in the band was invited. The same for Blondie, Cheap Trick, KISS, etc. Noel may say he is not reforming Oasis to perform if inducted, but does he want Bonehead and McCarroll to be the only ones there to accept awards? What are the chances of Guigsy showing up?
