    Greetings, thank you.
    Would you have some piece of advice on a workflow within Sketchup? I mean a model with wparallax parts to be used in Lumion, TM or D5 Render, Vantage, Vray?

  • @crisschan2463

    i think using sketchup to setup interior space also could work (sketchup default material can be set as transparent in lumion so we could map the texture inside a box to be used)
    nice tutorial as always, and also nice find of a plugin/website/tools

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 роки тому +1

      Absolutely! The pictures do not even have to line up perfectly. As long as you can just make it look passable then that is all you need for interiors.
      Thanks for the kind words though! I haven't purchased the full pack yet but I definitely am. Really awesome tool.

      Could you please share above point in more detail.

      @@DevPalliSri sketchup default material have two sides, the front and back, back usually arent rendered in most render engine, like lumion
      You can create a cube, reverse the material (the back face facing outside) then apply a material inside, so the interior will only be rendered
      I hope it is clear

      I think the way it is set up is actually quite well done! I really liked that you guys had the foresight to add in the boxes. While it is too bad it doesn't work with Blender GPU I know that is not really on your end. We have been using 3DS max more and more and that is the software it works best with so we will 100% be buying it soon :)

      Sorry about taking so long to reply Chase! Do you mean the wParallax storefront cutouts or just storefront cut-outs in general?

  • @theunknownscreenwriter

    Love the channel! Being new to archviz I'm curious if there's a simpler way to have my renders of a condo building look more lived in, ie (window cutouts, lights coming from inside the windows without having to actually place models behind the window)
    I really like the idea of using wparallax, but just curious if there's a different approach with Lumion to kind of achieve this look.
    Thanks!!

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  2 роки тому

      wParallax would be my first option, however what you can also do is just find some photos of blinds/curtains and put them on a plane. In Lumion you can make them slightly emissive and then it looks like the room is lived in, but it takes 10 seconds to set up. You can then duplicate this around.

    can you make it in vray sketchup?

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 роки тому

      That’s a good question actually. I can’t say for certain since I don’t use it. You can definitely do the trick with the box maybe not the actual osl script though

    you keep adding up new things i need to learn! is purchasing the parallax catalog worth it? and how difficult is it to learn blender? thanks again and keep up the great work

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 роки тому

      I think parallax is worth it. What is nice is it’s not just 1 add-on for a particular program you get it for any program. We used it for a quick exterior project that I should be able to share soon.
      As for blender I actually don’t think it’s as difficult as you may think. I had trouble learning at first but if you get through a few tutorials it becomes much much easier. The navigation is the thing I found hardest to adjust to.
      If you are a sketchup user I would recommend checking out the sketchup to blender importer. It really helps to bridge the gap between the two softwares as you don’t need to learn all of the modelling areas of blender immediately

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 роки тому

      I’m going to come out with more beginner blender tutorials as I think there some common road blocks I can help people with

    • @cliffordsy4249
      @cliffordsy4249 3 роки тому

      @@LuminousLabs thanks, will try to use the blender importer. i usually start in sketchup for my designs and then to lumion for renderings and presentation. i think blender is like 3dmax. just seen that blender is a freeware! downloading it and hoping it would enhance our presentation skills.... purchasing lumion is expensive as it is. :)

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 роки тому +1

      @@cliffordsy4249 I started Archviz doing Sketchup to Lumion, and we still use it a good amount. It is probably the fastest combo for getting good renders but if you really want to take it to the next level I think there has to be another software used for Lumion. There are a lot of things you can do in Lumion that Sketchup just can't take advantage of so it makes Lumion feel worse than it is.

    Great content thank you! Love your work, keep it up :) Can you please help me out with this issue.. I purchased a plant object but it imports as a row of 6 plants of varying heights with the same materials used for each plant. Is there a way to separate and export each plant from the downloaded file so they can be imported into Lumion individually? I do not have 3D Studio. I'm assuming it's possible in Blender, although I am a novice when it comes to using that program...

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you very much Geoff!
      Blender is definitely what I recommend! I will just mention that the plants wont be animated. As long as you are using them for stills it shouldn't be an issue. If you want to send the model I can split it for you and send a quick video back?
      It only takes a few key clicks and it is very beginner friendly but it is kind of weird to explain through just words.
      My email is g.miles@luminouslabs.ca if you want to contact me about this or anything else!
