The Pale Spear is probably the most valuable personal weapon of the entirety of 40k. Unique and beyond ancient, with technology not even the Necrons fully understand.
Fine piece of weaponry.
The Pale Spear was one of a number of strange and esoteric weapons associated with the Primarch Alpharius. Rumoured to be a strange Xeno artefact, whose forging predated even the rise of the Eldar, the double-bladed spear seemingly flickered out of phase with the material universe and emitted an eerie and otherworldly howl, when wielded. It was capable of piercing and ripping apart any physical defense it encountered; while against living matter, The Pale Spear inflicted hideously bloodless gaping wounds on its targets, as the flesh where it struck dissolved into oily smoke.
It IS a Necron weapon. look at the runes on the Artwork of Praetorian of dorn
Spear of Twilight is the better spear imo, but this was cool.
I honestly didn't know that. That some cool lore. Why don't more space marines use those claw power fists. Didn't the emperor and Horus use it?

The Blade is older than the Aeldari, probably not even from this galaxy.
There is no chaos taint on it, for the thing is older than any species of the Milky Way. Kinda like Tyranids.

That Alpha Legion is really as good as they say, managing to infiltrate the laws of time itself to exist in M2.

Well, time travel and even time wars existed in 40k for a long time. Not sure about current lore, but there was a whole department of Inquisition responsible for investigating time anomalies, which ended up "paradoxing" itself out of existence... or just vanishing into another timeline. Or something else.

Wow guys. I feel. If I wasn't sitting I'd need a seat without a doubt. The damascus steel. Beautiful. And the care and craftsmanship for the Primarch's weapon. Can only be done and apricated by one of the community. I am not Alpha Legion. Of that you can be most assured of. But as a Night Lord, an Eighth Legionnaire; a son of the Sunless World.

I'd love to see Constantin Valdor's Apollonian Spear (the bardiche looking one not the standard Custodes one).
That is a cool idea but what I want to see is the corrupt croziers of Chaos used by beings like eilphas the inheritor
Apollonian Spear might be too much for these guys but that would be a sight to see.
The only thing to stop this spear was Dorn's stubbornness.

You guys should build a heron-mark blade from "The Wheel of Time". Lots of different designs in the books, so I'd suggest Tam/Rand Al'Thor's sword.

Fortunately Alpharius were two of the smaller Primarchs (and their legionnaires were pretty big for astartes, so they could blend into the legion as required). But yeah, I'm waiting for the 15' version of the spear.
Alpharius wasnt much taller than a standard marine (like maybe a centimeter or two) that was the whole point. He could of been in with his troops and you wouldnt know

Not really. In "Praetorian of Dorn" it is on pages 340 and 341 described in detail - and said to be as tall as a man, so it actually is fairly appropriately sized.
I absolutely love watching everyone make these weapons. Can you imagine what it would feel like to be the artist that drew that weapon, and you see your creation made In the flesh.
Since the Wheel of Time TV show is supposed to premiere this year I'd love to see some of the iconic weapons from the books made. Mainly Mat's Ashanderei but an awesome Heron Mark Blade would be satisfying as well.
YES!!!! Of all the weapons of the primarchs, the Pale Spear, the Spear of the best damn primarch out there, Alpharius of the XX Legion! I play Loyalist Alpha Legion in 40k now and this made me cheer out loud and wake up half my house. This is officially my all time favorite build you guys have done! HYDRA DOMINATUS!
Let this be a lesson to you warhammer fans, keep improving your painting skills because you never know when you might need to paint the weapon of a primarch. Your life may depend on it.

Bit late to the party, love your show, especially seeing weapons like this being made.
If I had to see anything new, I’d like to see either a Skyrim Redguard Scimitar (Curved swords, they have curved… swords) or maybe a Warhammer 40k Ork Choppa or maybe some Dungeons & Dragon weapons like double-bladed sword.
you need to do Blade of the Laer, the sword that took the head of Primarch Ferrus Manus.
Given that Rick already paints, I'm not sure giving him access to the Laer Blade would be a good idea. Not unless you want to see him replace citadel paints with... other fluids, like a certain Primarch may have done...

-The Chainaxe "Gorechild"
-One or both of the following daemon swords:
---Blade of Antwyr (Grey Knights' Castellan Crowe)
---Drach'nyen (the sword wielded by Abaddon the Despoiler)

@@ScottKenny1978 I worked for Games Workshop, I don't even have any of this vintage left, but in 35 years of painting Ive painted close to 100k figs. Pretty awesome to see these old paints, but what astounds me the most is that he kept the pots clean and it simply hasn't dried up in the pot.

I picked up a bunch of that vintage from a dude who used to own a game store, every one I've tried has still been good.

I have just seen this and the pale spear is amazing. The craftsmanship, dedication and sheer excellence blows my mind. BTW those are some antique citadel paints that your man is using, must be 30+ years old...

Lightning claws could be pretty rad. Like the old Shredder build from a million years ago, but grimmer and darker.
Vulcan's hammer... by the Throne, none of them could lift it.
Any Eldar based blade work would be incredible to see come out of the forge. It'd be incredibly challenging but so amazing.
If you do another 30k build then Leeman Russ' twin weapons of Mjalnar, the Sword of Balenight and the Axe of Helwinter would be amazing.

I do have a perplexing question. What would happen if you quenched the blade in blood rather than water or oil during heat treatment. Would the mineral composition in blood actually strengthen the blade or weaken it? Would it give the blade a natural red stain? Or would it be no different? There have been many fantasy stories where blood quenching was a thing, example of the mythical blade Balmung being quenched in the blood of Dragons to give it the power to pierce a Dragon's hide with ease. So I'm curious as to what the real world effects of blood quenching would be.

Partial success, it can be broken into a few pieces for cleaning.
I had been asking the same question. I suppose they opted to not replicate that feature for sake of structural integrity. We are still stuck in M3 after all...

This is Pre-Heresy, as they still addressed Alpharius as "Primarch."
Technically the pale spear was found by Alpharius, it wasn't really made for him, he simply took it and modified it for his own purposes.

Terminus Est from the Book of the New Sun would be killer, idk how realistic the inner channel of "mercury" is but the sword is a phenomenal concept
