    I saw the thermometer and went “oh no she’s trying to make me temper chocolate that’s funny” 😭😭😭

      I know 😩 lol I think the only way to avoid tempering is by using melting wafers 😉

      @@SimplyHomeCooked I've found success in adding some shortening to the chocolate in the melting process.

      @@sapphireclawe same here. That or something like sunflower oil.
      It particularly helps with white chocolate,which at first l found a total nightmare, it kept 'seezing' on me if l just wanted to melt it not make a ganache
      Last few times with oil,no problem

    Embarrassing story: I didn’t know you were supposed to make these things into hot chocolate. I bought one at a farmers market and I literally just took a bite out of one and thought “Huh. It’s a little grainy, but it tastes okay I guess.” It wasn’t until later that I saw one of my friends make one that I realized I was an idiot.

      No need to feel bad about it :) It honestly looks like a delicious oversized bonbon. I don't blame you for taking a bite out of it 😉

      You don't have to make your chocolate bomb round, you can use any other shape as long as it isn't too big to be put in a cup. For the ingredients, well, it's not too difficult to find those in a supermarket...

    I'd put small chocolate chip cookies in them so I could eat them like cereal

    Personally I don’t like hot chocolate bombs you could just leave the chocolate for me I only like one type of hot chocolate though it’s abuelita

    • @vitoria_10000

      How is the abuelita's chocolate?

    • @bcd4562
      @bcd4562 Рік тому +2

      It has a touch of cinnamon. I tried it when my kids were in middle school, I think. It's really good.

      😮 I have only Abuelita hot chocolate in my tea cabinet right now bc my mom bought it for me. I’ve never tried it, but your comment encourages me!
      I’m guessing it probably has cinnamon and spice in it. A more traditional recipe. I like hot chocolate, but not the bombs - they don’t usually contain enough hot chocolate powder in them and the rest of the chocolate just makes a gooey mess in the cup. However, the Abuelita hot chocolate comes in discs to break apart that you could probably just dip in chocolate and decorate- it might work perfectly!

      I would not just put a brick into a cup with milk

    • @bearsbangerangs8856
      @bearsbangerangs8856 Рік тому

      I would first hit up some milk and then as soon as it’s done or you feel like it’s warm enough put the chocolate in however much you want

    Hi. So i tried it last night. Bought LINDT chocolate 70% .. followed your instruction but i noticed when i touch the chocolate bomb to smoothened the edge it melts in my thumb.
    Did i miss something?
    After sealing them up i out it back to fridge as I'm scared they will melt at room temperature.

      Since hot chocolate packets are made to mimic having creaminess I say that dark chocolate is a must for this to add back the chocolate flavor it lacks.

    I’ve never tempered chocolate but it seems like it would be way more difficult in the microwave because it doesn’t heat evenly? But idk

    • @SimplyHomeCooked
      @SimplyHomeCooked  Рік тому

      It can be a finicky task. That's why I always heat in very small increments at a time to avoid going pass the recommended temperature.

    Silly woman and your whimsical terms. Calling a chocolate ball cute. It's a ball of chocolate. Tasty, sure. But not cute.
