    After driving the 2017 EX and EX-T yesterday, I went with the EX-T. The extra bang for the buck was worth it to me. The turbo brings the Civic to life quickly. The added extras are icing on the cake. I got mine in blue / black. Sweet.

    • @tqsuited
      @tqsuited Рік тому

      @@obvinpro I've had a turbo model for over a year now (purchased 2nd hand) and no issues with oil dilution, runs great. Just don't rev it too hard when first running, let the engine temp settle and you're good. It's really only a concern in cold climates, but as I said just gentle revs initially should avoid that issue.

    It's actually more than a matter of power. The base 2.0 liter engine is not direct injected....which means better engine longevity. Direct injected engines build up carbon deposits over time and its kind of an unspoken maintenance issue that dealers don't speak of.
    Now, its more than likely not any bigger of an issue than it is on other D.I. vehicles, but its still there and Honda doesn't implement anything to counteract it long term.
    I had my heart set on a hatch, but it only comes with the 1.5....so it rules it out. Ex sedan it is. (disclaimer, i've owned several d.i. vehicles, and if you keep your cars less than 50-60k, its a non issue. But for those of us who want the cheapest and most reliable long term honda experience, the 2.0 is the way to go.)

      Dain Laguna you are 100 % right . I booked my 2017 honda ex today and because there was only a difference of 1000 dollar in ex and ex -t , i called my mechanic and asked him if i should go with turbo . He said turbo is good for first 3 years but later it starts to burn more engine oil and if you dont keep a check on it , then that can damage your engine and it brings up to 1000 or 1500 dollar fixing cost .
      He advised me to go with ex because i dont drive too much on highway . So he said go with ex .
      I ordered my car today 2017 ex honda civic , i love thelook of the car . I also added a spoiler to ex , which comes standard with ex - t .
      So excited for my new car .
      After reading your comment i feel much better that its good i dint go with turbo .

    My 2017 Honda Civic EX-T has been a thrill to drive for the past 5 years. Absolutely love all the features and the smoothness on the road! My only gripe is the AC condenser recall because many Civic models from 2016-2020 were affected. My AC stopped working during the summer of this year and it just blew in warm air. Thankfully Honda acknowledged the problem and added an extended warranty. Even after getting my condenser replaced, I'm wary that this issue might arise again because many Civic users have reported that this problem repeats itself.

  • @SiddhantParkar
    @SiddhantParkar 7 років тому +4

    I am confused between these two. I am willing to pay an extra 1k for heated seats etc also the turbo engine seems sweet. But i heard the regular has a much better engine life and that turbo engines dont survive very long.

    • @boobs2323
      @boobs2323 7 років тому

      im also confused.. but my guts is telling me te EX.. and ya its true turbo dont last long.. but its a Honda.. so you can trust it more than others.. and i dont think the'll take a risk on not offering it cause almost every model of theirs have turbos now!

    • @SiddhantParkar
      @SiddhantParkar 7 років тому

    • @Christian-og2qh
      @Christian-og2qh 7 років тому

      Siddhant Parkar I can tell you that a turbo engine will be working a little bit harser, but its up to debate about if it will destroy your engine or not. If you search up used civic si's (they have turbos) or any other car that comes with a turbo, you can see them reach pretty high mileage, into the 200,000's.
      The big thing about having a turbo car is that you just have to pay extra attention to maintenance. Ignoring maintenance on a turbo engine vs a non turbo engine will be worse.

    • @crazyelvis14
      @crazyelvis14 5 років тому

      It's actually a rumor so far, since they are still new technology, there is no actual evidence to support that claim. But they should last you till 200,000 miles and then who knows what happens from there

    Hey y’all wondering if someone can answer question I got here. I’m looking at a used 2018 Honda Civic. Here’s the catch: The rims are the EXT rims, it has dual climate control, it has heated seats, and it has Sirius radio. All this led me to believe that it was an EXT but when I open the hood it had a 2.0 L NA engine. As far as I know these are not options that were available for the EX. It’s cloth seats, manual adjusted, no fog lights although the openings are there on the bumper, there is just no inserts. They are empty. Car is mint otherwise, not a scratch. Under 18,000 miles. So what am I looking at here LOL? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.
    As a side note: I’m actually quite happy that the engine isn’t the 1.5 L turbo as I plan to get lots of life out of this car. I’m just confused as to why it’s in there when everything else points to this being an EXT model.

    I don't know why anyone would buy a base model car or a lower model, just to save a few bucks? I'm not saying you should buy top of the range (unless you can afford to) but at least mid-range, such as the EX-T. You get a few extras that you won't regret not having.

    what I found out when I wanted the ext in that burgundy night pearl, went to many dealers that color is hard to find with Honda sensing. Honda sensing was important to me and had to get a color that was my third choice. I was told that the burgundy night pearl don't have the Honda sensing system. Just wanted to mention certain colors of civics my or not have the options you want.

    the thai versions have 1.8L petrol engines instead of 2.0L. Pretty shitty decision made by the higher ups here. i heard it was because there was alot of production already underway for the HR-V and old civic(both of those cars use 1.8L), so management decided to simply put in the left over engines in the new civic model....

    I remember in 2000- 2001 the benz s class was offering a parking sensor that beeped when you got to close for something like $600. My, times are changing quick. Those people who spent 90k on a car that is worth 10k now must be kicking themselves lol

    • @allenyee4782
      @allenyee4782 8 років тому

      I see your point but there is a level of quality Benz offers that the Civic won't give you. Sit in a Benz and a Civic and you'll see why people will pay triple-quadruple the price for a Benz.
      Of course this is assuming your financial well off. It would be stupid to buy a Benz if you don't even own a house yet.

  • @jesseespedal9314

    if you think the 1.5 Lt turbo gets better gas milage you are dreaming. the turbo forces more air into the cylinder and causes more fule to get mixed in which supplies added horsepower. if you want better gas milage you have to drive VERY conservative and who wants to do that when you have a turbo engine???

    • @vash347
      @vash347 8 років тому

      not necessarily, saying you have a turbo isn't saying much when the car barely makes 170. acceleration isn't going to be great when your power bandwidth is so weak. you have to be an idiot to think this size car with a 1.5 litre engine is going to be snappy. the turbo just means you'll be pumping 91 instead of 87. but at 40 plus mpg it isn't bad at all

  • @DarioNicely
    @DarioNicely 7 років тому

    I would rather get the EX and swap it with manual transmission for the sake it has a naturally aspirated engine. Although im a fan of sporty sedans, I wouldn't buy the 10th gen SI because of the 1.5T engine, id rather go for the 9th SI

  • @HNRichard
    @HNRichard 8 років тому

    I don't know if the 2.0 would feel much lighter to accelerate with bigger displacement, than a 1.5 turbo.

    So this is a dumb question, but I am considering getting a mere EX, mostly because of budget reasons, and I was thinking of buying the dual climate control from the turbo trims and up, so would that work on an ex, or no?

    • @EhoenChoi
      @EhoenChoi 4 роки тому

      Im not sure if that would even be an option but if it is i would save that money if your budget is tight. I have a 2017 ex-t and I really dont notice/even use the dual climate control option, and when not in use it is the same exact thing as our other bmw that we have. But from my knowledge i dont think that it is possible
