Lisa, every week you bring light to my life. Every day I'm inspired to go out and paddle. I must have watched all your videos twice at this point. I'm at the point where I've lead easy canoe trips for my best friends and have learned so much. My J-stroke actually works and keeps me straight, and I feel like a confident canoe guide in general from your videos. So much that I want to become a Registered Maine Guide like yourself. Thank you for everything you do, we live in such a precious, beautiful, and under-appreciated part of the continent. Such an amazing way to experience all the rich history the North Country has to offer.
Zach, thanks so much, it was done for me when I was a young Guide and so I’m happy to pass it along. Next year I’m offering a training river for Guides and canoeists. A 5 day training trip one in the Spring and one in the Fall. My 2024 class schedule will be out in late January. Go to 3MinutesMaineGuide.com and subscribe for the latest classes. Again thanks for watching. ❤️
Nicely done 3 part series . Thank you . I agree with all your points . I just do a couple of things slightly different . I use a full cover net style jacket . ( 100 % net including a full head. Cover , all 1 piece ) I spray it with a dose of a high percentage of Deet . Under that full net cover jacket, I wear a hat plus a long sleeve, very thin sunscreen shirt . 2 birds with stone . No bug bites, no sunburn, or hopefully no future. cancer . Thank you . Keep the videos coming . You're awesome !
I have learned so much from watching your videos. I bought a bug shelter and a bug net with the arm straps like yours. I'll hang it from my hat like you do. Thanks!!
I always leave here smarter than when I got here 😊 I got the Bug Baffler head net you have. It’s great! I had a bit of trouble with the post office delivering it (apparently Washington state is on the way from NH to NC 🙄) but, Bug Baffler has phenomenal customer service.
Not many bugs in late fall, either! The hook on the lace system on Fjallraven pants is pretty handy to keep the bugs off your ankles. The bugs seem to have had a rebirth here with this heat wave we are presently going through. But the water is still very swimmable. Thanks for the video.
Nothing better than a week in a canoe...except 2!

So glad you found a good system that works. Thanks for watching!

Lisa thanks for watching and commenting. Good luck. There’s no reason you can’t be warm, dry and comfortable in the outdoors. All it takes is skill.
Love this series! Could you do a series on camping in the rain! Your videos take years off of the learning curve ‘thank you!
Great suggestion! Thanks for watching. It might me a while but I’m definitely going to at some point.
I’ve been in Maine for 40 years and used many anti-bug tricks. A Thermacell is a great tool to deal with bugs. I also live hemlock groves.
A very good device. They work great.

Alan, thanks for being a part of 3 Minutes…pretty much from the start, and always making the channel better with questions and comments. ❤️🛶

Yes, I’ve added that to a couple of river pants. Thanks for sharing.
