The second industrial revolution is on life support. We need a new approach that will take us into a third industrial revolution. Via video, Jeremy Rifkin explained that the third industrial revolution will bring together distributed energy with the internet to create a future based on collaborative, shared energy generation.
Jeremy Rifkin is the author of The New York Times best selling book, The Third Industrial Revolution, How Lateral Power is Transforming Energy, the Economy, and the World. Mr. Rifkin is an adviser to the European Union and to heads of state around the world. He is a senior lecturer at the Wharton School's Executive Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania and the president of the Foundation on Economic Trends in Washington, D.C.

Heartening to hear that it's already being done within the European Union.
    It's possible.

Would it be possible to have the transcription, so that willing people (like me) can make subtitling in other languages? Thank you.

excellent report. If we work with our power companies to make clean energy from solar duirng the Peak Time of day we help everyone. Germany has seen how Renewables can power the country and create jobs while saving money.

I'm sure your right, I'm just hopeful he is aware and that it is informing a plan beyond his transition plan he gave in his climate change speech.

If he does, he also understands that this is too complicated to explain to the public without losing too much people to the right wing conservatives, which would rid him of the mandate necessary to execute any of this.

... and now, in 2022 we are indeed selling energy back to the system from the solar power panels on our roofs.

Well, the American government isn't really about power to the people.
    It's power to the corporations.
So, it isn't relevant whether Obama knows about it.
