Use gloves, it helps a lot with making the job look even more professional. I used to dislike the idea of using gloves but after I started using them I found it to be quite good. It eliminates all the smudges and fingerprints left over on everything inside the phone.
@@riverdaletales8457 I know, but it helps alot! I repaired my iPhone 5 (it was a screen replacement) and it was so dirty at the end result. Now i did the repair about a year ago and i now daily a gold 6s my sister gave me. She has an XR now.
My age is 14 to 15,I hope I wanna be like him....but I can repair motherboard device, the Screen I really don't know to to replace it...the screen only I can replace about iPhone only
Probably best repair video I’ve seen so far. I do recommend that with every iPhone when you test a new screen you should hinge the top of the screen to the frame just so if you pick it up, accidentally bump it or testing the touch you don’t rip or bend a cable. I repair phones daily and have been doing so for over 2 years. My mentor has been repairing for 6 years. I can’t possibly count how many devices I have fixed... just some reassurance on my word
Sygem I do this shit all day and I somehow still enjoy sitting back and watching someone talk about it 😂one thing though. If the phone has been thru a screen replacement already I would change the home button gasket to make sure it doesn’t get twisted and the cable torn.
i just stumbled upon your channel and now i cant stop watching... idk why but i found it satisfying seeing a broken phone beeing restored... KEEP MAKING GREAT VIDEOS!!
He said a while back that really like working on other people's phones i don't blame him because some people will mess up their phones and want you to repair them for free and try to scam you i use to work in a cellphone repair shop some people will try to get over on you and lie
A few things I'd like to mention. Not having a bash but being honest about small points. 1)The plastic camera alignment doesn't have to be on the phone.purely just a guide, I've never seen them move without the screen being smashed 2)The seal is only rated for 6 months by apple, very little repair shops actually seal them these days. Once you drop your phone there's no seal anymore.
Its there for a reason. That clear plastic keeps the lens in alignment with the cover. Keep it out and it will look like shit. Its like a car rim without guide, it won't sit center. Also, that seal makes the phone feel solid and prefents the screen from flexing. Keeping that out leaves a gap (the 6s frame is machined out deeper) and wil feel like shit. 3d touch might also not work fantastically
Orange - that is available only for the 6s. Phones from the 7 and up have water resistant seals that don’t have a “age rating”. They last forever basically
I started repairing iPhones and ngl this guy is like my mentor. I started watching him and decided I wanted to do that and ever since I’ve been doing it. If anyone wants to try this I say do it because I’ve made some good money!
Please make more repair videos. Can you revive like the cheap iPhone 4 off of eBay series. Love to see those. Idk why it just makes me happy and excited to see things repaired!
it's not a waterproofing seal on the 6S it's there to give the screen a bit of resistance when using 3d touch to act as a barrier so when you are using the force touch there's not contact between the glass and the metal frame
There is no contact between the glass and metal of the frame. All iPhone screens have a plastic bezel fully surrounding the edges of the glass. And 3D Touch works perfectly fine without the adhesive seal. It is always a good practice to replace the adhesive to allow for near stock functionality, even though the adhesive provided to most 3rd party repair shops isn't as good as the original adhesive and is almost never installed properly (including in this video).
I think I read an article about someone contacting Apple about the seal, and Apple said it helps with 3D Touch and helps prevent humidity from entering, however it is not for waterproofing and has not been tested for waterproofing.
I'm personally not a fan of iPhones or Apple in general, but I think if there were a lot of people like you fixing these devices properly, they'd be worth the price.
I had a 6s plus, and did everything wrong . Just like the video , if he Didnt say the storage I would have thought it was mind because it had every symptom of the one in the video. Thanks for teaching me my mistakes!
Ive always loved your videos and im really impressed of how you fix these phones. I have been a subscriber for a couple years now and your videos just get more interesting. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Correct. Low quality screens have less sensitive 3D Touch grid integrated into the backlight, thus requiring more surface area of your finger to properly use.
I have honestly never seen the absence of this seal affect 3D touch. Low quality displays, absolutely, but from my experience the seal does not affect it at all. In my opinion, the seal is for some minor dust resistance, and *maybe* so Apple could tell if the phone has been opened, unless the seal was put back on 100% perfectly, which can be mildly troublesome on a few i have done. I will always reinstall the seal if i have one, if not, i will just scrape all of the old adhesive off so nothing is applying pressure in random spots of the screen
I wish you had repaired my iPhone 6s Plus. I was an unfortunate customer of a "professional" repair shop which did a poor job on the battery and the screen replacement that had so many issues after just a couple weeks it was "repaired". Turned out both the battery and display were non-genuine, which they claimed WERE and it eventually performed worse over time and I had to replace the phone entirely.
try searching "mobile sentrix", they may have the ability to refurbish screens and provide screen refurbishing. itechcare is another place that is good for refurbishing.
Hi! I’m a huge fan here from the philippines! I watched your vid when I decided to repair my phone to replace my battery. I used your video to guide me how to do it and boom! Got a working phone again. Kuddos mate! But I do have a promblem now. It seems to be my powerbutton is not working. 😭 I dunno how to assess it. Sad. But cheers mate!
Where do you find your screens at? I've been looking for good quality iPhone 7 Plus screens and found either cheap ones or really expensive "OEM" ones.
OEM screens aren't expensive this man does two things. Buys iCloud locked devices in good condition for cheap. Also buys just parts themselves on eBay go look there I found a iPhone 6s screen one crack for 16 dollars . 0 cracks is more like 35
I have no idea how he finds phones for so cheap. People on eBay in the US and Canada sell their phones cracked for like $50 below market value and for parts/not working phones for half of market value. So its sometimes cheaper to get individual parts which range from $30-$130.
I know they are nearly impossible to find, but the white ambient light filter "sticker" is missing on that 6s Plus as well. It's only found on black screens.
That's because they either don't buy the complete kit or they don't get parts from apple. The repair shop I work at gets everything from apple so we dont have that issue. We have all their tools to repair iPhones. They provided us with two mac computers, a display press, the adhesive, etc.
Do your OEM refurb screens have OEM quality polarizers? You can check this by looking at the screen with polarized glasses. If you see black screen with glasses, it uses premium polarizer, but not OEM.
sha106b I've done some repairs before for friends and used 5s screens but I've had a hard time finding decent screens. But I'll look for refurbished screens, thank you!

I got a question so I got an iPhone 7 Plus and I opened it to see if the damage was the charging port the problem was that the charger over heated and I opened it do you think I still can take it to an apple technical?
I dropped my 6s in water but the only thing that stopped working what the glass and lcd. The phone is fine I tested it by connecting it to my tv and it showed the lock screen and the phone showed up on my computer. The screen won't respond to touches but the phone will receive calls and charge and all of the buttons work. Should I get my LCD digitizer assembly replaced? Only problem is I don't know if it's the connecter on the board that doesn't work or if it's the screen.

It protects it from scratch is
yeah, but is not essential to the 3d touch. the 3d touch not working is due to a low quality screen. no?
