Jason Warren allegedly left his 7-year-old granddaughter with Lauren Jope, a homeless woman, to go drinking in Sacramento County, California. abc7chicago.com/post/jason-wa...
The homeless woman did a better job taking care of that little girl than family!
Are you saying he made a wise choice ?
@@Modernmidgetif you can read you see clearly that’s not what he said. It obviously wasn’t a good choice, which is why he has a mugshot and she doesn’t.

to think of what could have happened him leaving that girl with a pervert all to get drunk UNBELIEVABLE thankfully this lady was a decent human being.
That little girls parents knew her grandfather is an alcoholic. They should be liable too.
Lot's of people are alcoholics. Doesn't mean they're doing this kind of crap when they watch their grandchildren.
@@lovebearextraordinaire1.069 I didn't say recovering alcoholic, so don't take it so personal. If you think it is ok to watch someone if you drunk, please don't have kids or watch them. Yes alcoholism is an illness but having kids is not a right. The child should not be the sober thinking one in the room.
How do you know the parents are even still nm in the picture
@@barcelonachair6487 It's not personal. I don't drink (at all) or hang out with anyone who does, myself. Can't stand the taste, can't stand the feeling.
Also, I never once said it's okay to watch children if you're drunk. You said that. Just now.
If treating people this way is what you think is appropriate, negatively (and needlessly) generalizing people with addiction issues while putting words into other peoples mouths just to feel like you're on some kind of high horse soap box, then maybe it's you who should consider not having, or watching, children.
@@lovebearextraordinaire1.069 I said alcoholism is an illness, but I don't act as though this illness just as many others means it makes a person a responsible parent or guardian. That isn't a soapbox stance, that is reality, when kids are raised in dysfunctionally the effects are then placed on the rest of society. Having empathy towards people who have a problem with alcohol doesn't mean you don't raise standards of when people have children. They aren't mutually exclusive. These parents left their child with the grandfather who has a problem. I doubt this was the first time he showed them he was not a sound thinker. Your issue is that I am sitting on my my soapbox judging others? The child ended up in an homeless encampment with a stranger. This is not healthy or normal. The child will probably have abandonment issues when she is older. This is the issue. her health and well being. her grandfather is jail, and her parents are no where to be found.
I wonder if he could be charged with filing a false police report too?

You can tell that the grandpa is not fit to take care of children. God bless this young lady for her honesty and morals.

She's absolutely right! thank God it was her and not someone who would have harmed the girl. The Grandfather is trash smh

She could've easily ended up with someone just as bad as the Grandpa, if not worse. It's a miracle that she wound up with someone both compassionate and more or less stable.
ABSOLUTELY!
Who left their daughter with an alcoholic male!!!! Grandpa or not thats gross
You saw his picture? Who would think this man is responsible enough to babysit anything

So this grandfather essentially tried to frame this homeless lady for kidnapping? He really just thought "my word over this homeless woman's, because i think so"
Yeah I think that's pretty much exactly what happened. Maybe realized he shouldn't have done that and tried blaming someone else for his inadequacies as a human being.
Not necessarily. He was drunk out of his mind, so when this woman recognized that's he's a danger to his own grand kid and thus retreated with the kid, his drunk mind translated that as kidnapping

The irony that a child is safer in the hands of a homeless person than her grandfather. What a world.

@@user-eo1sv5kn4i I don't think anyone in the world would claim that.
Because it’s a person who just so happens to be homeless. The word homeless doesn’t make a person bad or good, it’s just about the person itself.
@@dahliaagda3279 That wasn't the point. It was about the grandfather and not the homeless person.
A word of advice: if you find a lost child, or an abandoned child, or a child gets "abandoned" in your care, call the police. Do not go around looking for the parent, guardian or family member. As in this case, that adult could assume the child was kidnapped, in which case you'd be in for the hassle of your life if you're caught with the child. At least call 911 so there'll be a record of you having attempted to find the child's parents.
Good advice my thoughts exactly you could be facing so many charges it would take an attorney a week to sort through them
Common sense for some of us, but a great message for everyone! Thanks 👍
I doubt she has a phone....
I don't think she owns a phone. Maybe not anymore.
It’s a sad world we live in where that’s what you have to do. And if you don’t have a phone, ask whoever is nearby to call 911.
She should have gotten $70/hour like a real nanny instead of a measley $20
What the F are you talking about? The Drunk , left her with a Total Stranger without even know her Real name probably…. You sound Stupid as F
I can guarantee that she spent that $20 at the thrift store, on the little girl.

That will be a day that little girl will never forget. I'm glad she was safe.
She was finally with someone who really cared.
I think her whole life is gunna be unforgettable, poor girl.
Yeah, and she clearly vouched for the woman and against her grandfather for the lady to same day be on the street able to speak with reporters. They don’t take kidnapping lightly, if the girl had said even one thing that indicated she was not left in the woman’s care by the grandfather she’d have also been cuffed.
God bless this woman! When you think of who she could have been left with, this little girl was lucky to fall into the arms of this wonderful angel.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how chill this woman is about the whole situation? All dropped in her lap.
She is keeping the kid supervised, has communicated with drunken grandpa, and decides to keep the kid safe. Wait and see what may need to happen. It's only an emergency if she can't keep the kid safe.
Probably for the best, grandpa lost custody, permanently.
I'm sure that woman's situation she's very accustomed to things being uncomfortable or rough. Remaining chill is probably a natural reaction along everything else that she faces
Now the child is an orphan and will have a fucked up life
She deserves an award. She deserves money for her award. She also deserves your guys's help to get her a place to live a job and possibly get her into school. That should be in a great award for her right there. She saved a child literally saved this child that should be recognized.❤❤❤
Yes but I've worked with the homeless and most are not homeless simply because they don't have a home. Lots have mental health issues and addictions that prevent them from working, let alone staying housed. At the very least and to start she should get priority for GOOD help that she needs, if any.
I said same thing in my head then saw your comment. Highly agree with you. A person with a good soul like that , to take care of a random kid she doesn’t know deserves a lot better than being homeless. We don’t know her story but shouldn’t matter. We do know she took care of a helpless kid who could have been took by a random criminal.
@Bando-fx4mf It should matter. Don't get me wrong, it's great that she took care of that child, but let's not be quick to give her a home, job, schooling, etc. We should know what made her homeless (likely mental health) and address that so she can take full advantage of those other things that, yes, I believe she deserves.
Source: used to work with the homeless, MOST cases aren't solved by just giving them a home, job, etc.
Walked out on her own though
Drugs made her homeless. If she gets clean she has a home, vehicles, people that love her, A CHILD, but her words are “I enjoy living in a tent with no responsibility, living the simple life” She should have thought that BEFORE she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and then chose the streets. She has so many resources at her fingertips, but likes meth better.
That’s sad. I’m glad this woman is a good person.
He looks like the type of grandfather that would sell his granddaughter for a pack of beer
He already did. Gave someone $20 so he can go to the bar
I miss the days when I was shocked hearing about stuff like this. Hope that homeless woman and the kid have good things ahead in their lives.

I knew a drunk grandfather of a severely autistic 4 year old. While he was getting drunk with his friend, the little boy wandered into the woods at night. A neighbor who found him was pounding on my door with the kid screaming. SMH.
Why did he say she was kidnapped for human trafficking? People use this term human trafficking too loosely.
Why, you ask? So he could pretend to be a victim rather than a perpetrator.

This could be very traumatic for a child. DO NOT LET the little girl know that she was abandoned.
That child’s parents need to be looked at. Wtf would leave their child with a man like that?
Very disturbing, but this happens a lot outside of casinos and bars
Yes, where I live, there's at least one death every summer of a child whom is left alone outside a bar, casino, or strip club while the guardian is inside.
These people....
Maybe the Police should hang out THERE, instead of parking lots and the side of the roads.
Bless the lady for actually taking good care of the girl
Horrible.
The issue is asking a *stranger* to supervise a child in yourcharge. Her being homeless has nothing to do with it. The prejudice is real.
It makes sense to include in the story since she had taken the child back to where she was staying. I think that probably helped her, she was technically still on public property and hadn’t taken the child into a private residence.
Even as homelessness rises, this country will still be brutal and hostile towards them.
What a LOSER! Even More pathetic is that the parents were that desperate to leave their baby girl with a man who looks questionable in demeanor as being trustworthy in the first place. The parents should be investigated too. SMH
Wow. You can’t arrest people for leaving their child with someone “who looks questionable in demeanor as being trustworthy…”
What makes you think the parents were desperate? Most likely, they are just good for nothing trash. They can’t take care of their children but they can breed. Sick.
Maybe her parents are dead. No one says anything about the parents.
That was so cool of her to take care of the girl. I hope these ladies both, find consistent, safe care going forward.

I'll ask...how is the homeless lady cleaner than the grandfather? CPS needs to get involved and make sure that child safe
The WORST GRAND DAD award goes to this man. 😮😮
News flash: There's much worse out there.
What so sad is when the homeless person has a better state of mind than the actual guardian. Thank God for that woman.
Grandpa needs to be in prison. Parents need to be investigated and punished.
I’ve noticed that adults do not care for children properly anymore. They are narcissists and feel that kids are in their way instead of seeing kids as they are, a blessing. Poor child. Crazy. Sick
Wow. That is crazy. I am so glad this woman helped this little girl. I hope the girl has family who will take her in. If the grandfather has custody and doesn’t want her I know my husband and I and our kids would adopt her. So sad.
He should’ve been charged for filing a false police report, too. That woman could have easily been put in danger if a police officer decided to handle it more aggressively.
Parents relying heavily on grandparents to parent should be held accountable.
Hopefully she will never be left alone with "grandpa" again until she is 18.
I’m afraid he has custody of the child. We need more info about this child.
What a horrific story some homeless people are kinder and make better judgement than people who aren't.
I am so happy the homeless woman didn't get arrested and even more happy that the grandfather was. What a deplorable human being.
To many strange and horrible things going on. So glad this story ended well and this good woman was there to help.
Yes. It was very fortunate that he gave the little girl to a good person. I wish there was more info about this child’s fate as far as her being safe going forward.
This woman is an angel!
What about the mother who left this child with an untrustworthy drunk of a grandfather? Where was she? Working? Out drinking too? If she was working, the community needs to step up and help her.
She was a liberal too.
That little girl indeed had a guardian angel watching her. God bless them both.
Men don't protect women and girls. Period. This is an EXCELLENT example of that. He literally dumped his little granddaughter on a homeless woman - not knowing anything about her - then tried to subject her to being arrested because he wanted a WOMAN to take the fall for him being an alcoholic. I PRAY someone reaches out and helps this lovely lady. This is a awful situation to be in, but I'm glad she and the little girl are safe.
Grandfather of the year right there!!
And a pillar of the community...
What a crazy story and Im glad the girl ended up with that lady..
That woman should be given an honorary award and hopefully a job with the local government or police department. She not only was a good adult that kept the child safe from predators that might actually kidnap her but she immediately “returned” her knowing the situation was gonna be confusing and didn’t panic.
