Logan's death and funeral is some of the most devastating scenes ever put on film. After 17 years, we really grew to love Wolverine and he dies in a horrible, painful, bloody mess... right in front of his daughter too. It is beautifully poetic since Yukio practically predicted his death. But I think there's even more to it. From the beginning Wolverine has basically had to BABYSIT everyone in every movie he's featured in. From Rogue in X-Men to all of the kids in the school in X2 to the whole X-Men team in The Last Stand to his own brother in X-Men Origins to his Japanese girlfriend in The Wolverine his own mentor / father figure in DOFP and then Laura who is finally his own baby.... And then to top it all off, Laura turns that cross into an X. OMG. That was so fucking perfect. "And do what? Join the team? Be an X-Man? I got better things to do." There is nothing about any character in the MCU this beautiful and poetic. Not even Tony Stark.

The Acadamy had one more slot to fill for Best Picture and they refused to put Logan in that slot. Jackman should have got Timothee Chalamet's spot for Best Actor, Dafne Keen should have got Lesley Manville's spot for Best Supporting Actress, Stewart should have got Christopher Plummer's spot and Won for Best Supporting Actor, James Mangold should have got Paul Thomas Anderson's spot for Best Director. So in closing the Academy still refuses to take comic book movies seriously, they rather have artsy crap win over good and deserving movies.
Wow, you are absolutely right on point. Why did they nominate Christopher Plummer instead of Stewart? Sometimes I feel that the Academy needs to either acknowledge their mistake or give Jackman and Stewart an Oscar for overlooking their exceptional work. I suspect that there is some nefarious dealings going on and the politics. Harvey Weinstein, regardless of his personal predilections, fought and paid the game to have his films and actors get nominated. Comic movies don't get the honors it deserve with the Acadamy because of prejudice with the genre. They don't see it as "art" like we do, the pricks!

You know...montages of Logan would go good with the main theme of The Fountain which Hugh Jackman also started in. A deep film...deep music...would fit him perfect.
This is a beautiful tribute! The parallels you show throughout the movies is so well thought out and touching. The voice overs you've chosen are very representative of who Logan is. This is definitely one of the most thoughtful, profound Logan/Wolverine tributes on UA-cam. I'm not sure if you have the video editing file still, or what software you use (I tend to use Sony Vegas), but if you do, I have a few additional suggestions that I think would make this the PERFECT video: 1) At around 48/49 seconds, while Logan is buttoning his shirt, show his eyes/the look on his face for emotional effect, 2) at 1:07, what is the significance of showing that particular clip? There are possibly better clips that can be used to really show who the character is here ... how about the scene from First Class in the bar where he's drinking and smoking his cigar (but without the Go F*&^ yourself voice over), and 3) at 1:56 when he's saying, "I'm the best there is at what I do, and what I do best isn't very nice," ... the voice over kind of cuts off too quickly when he says "nice" ... so if possible, try to drag out that word a bit more so that it doesn't lose its effect. Other than that, I think this video is perfect. :) Thank you for making it!
