Man you keep posting these videos ...your gonna make me go buy a stripping machine arent you 🤣🤣🤣 makeing me jealous over here watching that money pass us by 😂😂 thanks for the video brother
Is that 2.5 hours from the time you left your shop with all your equipment till the time you returned to your shop and are finished, or just time on job site?
Over the years we have done a lot of different techniques such as business cards, signs and even emails! We also have 11 hours of video training course available to get a striping business up and running fast! It teaches you everything you need to know my website is below www.billydavidsonvip.com/
Hey buddy, I love watching all your videos. A few have helped me with starting my business. Hope you all are safe during this hurricane. God bless y’all. Prayers
6-8 months before you start needing another coat. In heavy traffic areas such as a dollar general tho you might try and sell them a second coat of paint striping at a discount for another 3-4 months of life.
Do you need a business license for small jobs like this? Or any other licenses ? I do this for my govemrnt job and thinking of doing it as a side business
All you should need is a general liability policy and workers comp to get started. I also have an online course that goes over everything you need to know to get started in the Parking Lot Striping industry. www.billydavidsonvip.com/ We offered mentorship after you finish the online course
OK awesome make sure you text me your name and phone number that way I program US VIP in case you come across any issues or have any questions after watching the video training
Another great video Mr. Billy, I recently summit a bid for a new parking lot stripping here in Houston, I was trying to get some advice from you but I never got response to my text message. Hopefully I get the job.
I know we do, most warehouses should have proper ventilation for the couple hours the machine will actually be running. A majority of time spent inside will be layout/prep work and not actually running the machine.
Any way you could make a video on changing your paint on site. I’m looking for the most efficient way to change over colors. I only have 1 machine at the moment. I’m just starting out trying to get going.
You get a bucket of water, run water through the machine into an empty bucket untill it comes out clean, then swap the intake into your new color and boom youve successfully swapped colors
@@eugeneonion that wastes paint though, put intake into water bucket, return feed back into your paint pail, cycle the paint back into its pail, once you see just water coming out, turn off pump, put return feed into water bucket and cycle again to clean lines. Same thing with the guns, back into paint pail first before clearing lines into water pail. If you use solvent based paint, run it through thinner or gasoline to clean lines.
Billy what do you think about striping by hand to begin with? Is it worth the extra time and can you do a quality job, or should I just save up and get a machine?
There are still some jobs we elect to do by hand at certain dealerships such as a Mercedes-Benz place where we have to paint some lines in between a few cars that may be worth $100,000 each. The work is a little bit tougher but can be done. You can definitely start doing small dentist office, gas stations, small banks etc. by hand and start making large profits soon
sir my name is al mamun i am working in lane marking since 13 years in singapore i can spray all kinds of ,, thermoplastic work i have driving license can i come sir for this job
Yes, and yes. But there are risks with it. If you have waterborne in your machine, flush straight water through pump and lines, don't forget to clear guns of paint. From there, if we're going to a solvent based we flush thinner through the lines and guns, then switch into the solvent based. If you're going from solvent to water, opposite, thinner first, then water, then waterborne. Issues can arise if you don't flush your lines properly, if you've got solvent in your lines still and flush waterborne through it'll cause blockages and eventual clogs in hoses. Same with acetone and solvent, never combine or you'll be replacing pump packings multiple times a year. A good practice is to switch hoses when switching types of paint.
I see many business in my area that needs this type of work done. I do pressure washing and thinking about doing parking lot striping also. I want to purchase your knowledge and help you on some of your jobs.
Alright. I’m moving down and buying equipment to partner up with you. You help me market and I’ll travel out of state to do those stripings. I’ll give you a cut. ✌️
I have a Titan 850, but my question is why it only run for 30 minutes and then I'll have to let it sit for 45 minutes to an hour. After 30 minutes run time it just shuts off.
Mr. Davidson, I have a Titan 850. And I am running into issues with having to use water Bourne paint. It seems to attract dirt and tire marks very quickly. I’ve had a customers complain about how fast the lines get dirty... what’s the best paint to use for this machine to avoid this problem? Thank you in advance
You need to make sure you using the correct spray tip. You may be putting the paint down too thick. Also guys are having really good results with the latex paint bought on our website. I think there should be a link in the description of this video
Man I've been planning on starting up my sole proprietorship business and striping parking lots for close to 2 years now and I'm 100% sure I'll be able to be successful with this and probably make enough money to be able to fix my life and retire on within 20 years . My whole issue is getting I've been waiting and waiting for a year now to get my truck and feel like I've been dunked repeatedly. Covid hit and screwed ba lot up had just paid my sr22 up for 6 months in advanced and the day before I was going to get my license covid shut everything down and my only form of support is dead set against even going out to look at trucks. So I sit in this room day in day out getting fat. I'm sick and tired of sitting here waiting and watching everybody else making money. Its killin me but ill show everybody . You will see and be sorry for holding my head under water for so long.

Do you sealcoat and seal cracks in asphalt also?
Thanks for that info.. curious why no lid on your 5. No issues with scabbing over!
How do you deal with the indoor jobs? Does your machine run off propane or kerosene as well?
I use the gas machine inside, it's not a big deal, but the buildings I'm doing have vans parked in them. Graco has a battery powered unit now tho.
Another great video Billy D! Smart choice hooking up with Asphalt Kingdom--good products and great prices. Be safe

Depends on the age of the unit sounds like a coil pack
I purchased it brand new 3 years ago, and it shutoff on me first time using it.

Looks like you have a good team under you as what l have seen though your videos and l guess that comes with good leadership 👌🏼
Mr. Billy do you ever do line striping for athletic fields?
Yes it is a different type of paint
In California we call the riser face of curb
According to federal ADA guidelines it's called the riser. But I have heard it called the face of the curve before
Im in alberta so im definitely seasonal
wouldn't that be a fire lane
$850 minus how much in costs?
Probably about $175 in cost
