      The music industry is different too. Your content has to come off the mixing desk ready to be sold to EA games, Taco Bell, and Google Ad sense. If you want good music you have to go to the underground and discover it. The mainstream is a blown out as it was in mid 70s when punk came around to disrupt it. Something will come soon that will break the fake shit ceiling.

They want to see his swagger and devil may care attitude. If that was a major turnoff for a huge number of people and nobody was watching him and barely anyone was coming to his concerts because they hated his attitude, you can bet your ass he would very soon become a nicey-nice boy like Chris Martin.

My younger brother has done the same things to me throughout my life, mouth's off, drives me nuts sometimes, but truth be told he keeps me honest so to speak. The problem is Liam has great intentions, he loves Noel and wants to make amends, but Noel always baits him in the press and that sets him off, Liam is impulsive and reactionary so he can’t help but dig the hole deeper. Which makes Noel even more stubborn and less inclined to want to patch things up. It’s paradoxical.

    Refreshing to hear someone say ‘I’m not a songwriter, I’m a singer - so I was happy to work with other writer’. Good football analogy too.

    it's weird how much flack Liam gets for having co-writers when he has way less co-writers than other artists who get so praised for being singer songwriters (Adele, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, Sam Smith, etc.). I think he's come a long way since the 90s. Six of the twelve songs on the album are solo writes.

      like Liam himself said, he's always been a singer -- not as much a writer. He was absolutely brilliant singing Noel's tunes, and now he's absolutely brilliant singing other people's as well. Elvis was the same.

    • @rubberducky4074
      @rubberducky4074 2 роки тому

      Taylor wrote a whole album by herself so I think she deserves the praise. I’ve seen many people having a go at Beyoncé for having a tonne of writers. I think Liam gets flack when he’s measured next to Noel. People think Noel made the band because of his songwriting, he did write the hits no doubt, but Liam had the signature vocals and attitude that made them famous and set them apart from every other band. He does definitely deserve way more credit as a songwriter. I think he’s slagging himself off because he’s probably internally comparing himself with Noel (as people always have) when he’s on his own path.

    • @vanishing_girl
      @vanishing_girl 2 роки тому

    Liam was the spirit of Oasis- the pure joy thing of rock n roll came out loud and clear. Noel's songwriting fed that need. They completed each other. wish they'd just park the pride and the egos at the door, these brothers still need each other, and both feel the emptiness of their rift. As it should be.

He has bugged me a ton over the years with his seeming pomposity, but the tales of him being a decent bloke are everywhere. Noel once said Liam was obsessed with him, but in truth Liam only wants the band back together on proper terms. The fact they both still credit each other’s talents and contributions (in separate interviews) is testament to their brotherly respect for one another, even if they aren’t speaking.
    I loved that Liam did this interview with such conviction & sincerity ~ with righting past wrongs, and taking responsibility for broken marriages and bad behaviour. He’s honestly apologised enough and fully deserves this second break. Am glad he’s on the upswing; he’s grown in aptitude and thriving again in music. Credits to him, his wife, family & team.💙

    Watching documentaries of them both, in the early years they both went hard at the rock n roll lifestyle then Noel got bored of it but Liam carried on ....As they got older Liam's "I'll turn up up when I want and do what I want" attitude started pissing Noel off more and more as his attitude is "we're here to work not to fuck about'...I think this carried on and created a bigger wedge between them then on that night in Paris Noel reached his cut off point and walked out....Liam has always been an honest say it how it is, what you see is what you get with him, he's rough and ready but he is who he is....Noel is more articulate but more private but you can tell they both miss each other, Liam will admit it to the whole world but Noel even though he feels it won't let his guard down, for years Noel has referred to Liam as "the other fella" but in his last few interviews he's called him by name...maybe his shield is coming down...Oasis will never get back together full time but I think they will do a one off or a mini reunion tour at some stage....lets all hope they do....
