Massey Ferguson and Iseki are owned by AGCO. In Australia both brands sell tractors. Generally the smaller tractors are Isekis made in Japan and the larger are Massey Ferguson’s made in various countries. Some of the smaller Massey Ferguson tractors are rebadged Isekis.
I certainly don't need a lesson on masseys they are thee finest on the market I've had masseys since the 70s and still running awesome can you say that about your brand x
Loved everything about this video, but for me, the fact that you mentioned that it was on the old Chanute Air Force Base was special. I was stationed there for 2 months for firefighter school training for the Army back in 1978!
Thanks for taking us along. My friend just bought a Massie about two months ago. One of these days I will have to try it out. I can bet some of the owners of the combines are still cleaning on them. What a labor of love to show them working!!!!
Another great video Tim! I looked at Massey, New Holland and Case when I was looking for a tractor to replace my 8n. Ultimately went with LS once I saw they built the NH and Case tractors. Almost 300 hours on my XR5145HC over 2 1/2 years and it has never left me down. I love it!
The Kubota measurements on the PTO were definitely an eye opener. Seems that is just the way they are built and in all likelihood have always had smaller clearance.
I have a older model Kubota, a m4700 it's 6 1/6 from top of draw bar to bottom of pto. A little better but still shocked a tractor that size wouldn't use the Asbe specs
I remember going to farm shows with my dad when I was a kid. He grew up on a farm and it never left him. Anything that had to do with a farm was his soul's call. The old horse teams was great to see. He did that and talked of it a lot. I can hardly imagine how grueling a day would be working a field on a leaf spring drawn by horses.
Very glad you did a small review of MF and particular the 1840M. I am in the market for a compact tractor and the 1840M is on the list with Yanmar YT2/YT3. The MF dealer is less than 2hrs away while the Yanmar is 40min away. I really like the 1840M, 5yr warranty and 8yr financing, but Yanmar being closer, 10yr warranty, plus a 10yr financing program. Any comments would be appreciated! Great show as always!
Thanks for showing us those shows! Especially the Half Century of Progress was great to see...since iam thousands and thousands of miles away its great to be able to see it in your video!:)
The 4-row corn head on the round back John Deere 95, was NOT a "modification", it was a JD 410 head, which was a pair JD 205, or 210(?) two row heads on the same backbone.
Hard to imagine crops growing right next to the runways on Chanute AFB. Was there back in 1992 when I went through USAF tech school there. Being a country boy from the red hills of east central Mississippi, I had never seen that much corn in my life in the flat farm lands surrounding the base and Rantoul. I really did enjoy exploring the area. Of all the places I went in the Air Force, Rantoul made me feel at home. Awesome video, Tim.
Really enjoyed the old tractors, combines. We farmed 1200 acres in the Oklahoma panhandle in the 60s-1976 and my dad had a Minneapolis-Moline dealership and we sold the Moline irrigation engines, 602 ci 6 cyl, we had a 95 John deere combine and a 105 combine. We raised milo and wheat plus we had alfalfa patch also,24 acres. Fun times sunup to sundown. Alot of work. Had 1 tractor with cab, no A/C, but the windows opened, Moline G1000, 110 hp propane.
I spent four months at Chanute at the beginning of my Air Force career nearly 40 years ago learning how to repair several types of jet engines. I always wondered what they did with the base after it closed. Makes sense since it was already surrounded by corn and soy bean fields, just like where I grew up in Indiana about three hours away. Memories....
I started there in "65 in Jet over 2. I was an instructor after graduation for a year, '66-'67. Went back in '74 as a Tsgt. for instructor duty again leaving in '78 for Ellsworth. Retired in '85. I am also from Indiana and still live here after retirement.
Tim, I have the 1835M and for the features, it's a great machine. Didn't get the cab option (I opted for the woods backhoe instead was about the same cost). So far, been a very reliable tractor. Probably could have gone with the 1840M, but the extra couple thousand at the time was a little too much to spend. I'll have to upgrade when I trade it in for the next one...
If you were at Rantoul this year then I feel bad that I missed you. I would have at least stopped by and said hey. Great video of the old and the new. Thanks for sharing.
@@TractorTimewithTim Oh no...my brothers and I were there on Friday. Shoot. I knew you were going to the Farm Progress Show but I must have missed you talking about going to Rantoul. Love my 1840m I picked up last fall. Though at 54.2 hours the hand throttle has started to malfunction causes the RPMs to change up and down randomly. Going to cost around $100 to fix.
@@wvumaniac87 should not cost you a dime. Had to take mine in for something minor. They had it for about a week. Was covered under warranty. The tractor was 5 months old at the time with over 30 hours.
PLEASE do this every year. or even a couple times with different shows. ! half century of progress, whistling diesels truck, measuring kubota to test theories, this vid had it all.
Those Massey 1800 M series seem to be fantastic machines and a whole lot of tractor for the price point. Isn't Iseki more or less on the way to becoming an AGCO subsidiary at this point? I know AGCO already distributes Iseki tractors in some markets. I'm thinking of taking the plunge into the world of small tractor ownership and right now the 35hp M series feels like the one to beat (they're also what the 2nd closest dealership to me sells). Kioti and New Holland and big green are also in the mix, Kubota as well though dealership proximity for them isn't great.
I have a MF GC 1723EB and absolutely love it. I tested Orange and Green but ended up with Red because of the price, features, warranty support, and overall feel. The loader accumulator is available for the subcompacts as well. Cheers
I'm leaning toward the GC1725M myself. My father-in-law bought a M4700 series recently and our local Massey dealer has been outstanding thus far with service after the sale. Our local Kubota and Deere dealers not so much. Tim's channel has been great for information on just how versatile subcompact tractors are and what they can do.
I've always wondered why the little compact tractors don't have soft ride standard on the loaders... doesn't cost that much more to add it on, well worth it. I don't know if I've ever shut the soft ride off on my Massey, and use it a lot on the Bobcat skidder. What the heck Kubota? Why so close to that drawbar lol
Cool to see you on a B2401DTN. I own a B2401DT (same tractor, but not narrow. Same size as B2601). I bought it because I wanted a compact utility tractor with a 540/1000 RPM rear PTO, and a mid PTO, and is gear drive. Seems to be a small niche since not many tractors are built this way. That show is one I would like to make it to someday.
I was stationed at Chanute AFB back in 1974 for fire protection( my job) ,but I washed out due to medical reason ( bad right knee). I picked my new job as a vehicle operator /. dispatcher
Thanks for the video. Always fun to see the older equipment at work! There is a small show in paducah ky coming up. Thought you may be interested. Big boys toys is the name and the main sponsor is our local kubota dealer.
Great Video Tim. Love the Farm show video's these are always some of my favorites to watch, great content! I have the LSS on my 5115M, and never knew it existed, till 6 months ago, just prior to buying the new to me 2013 5115M that came with the LSS on it. I really like the video title, because that is exactly what I said, back when I first got my 5115M home, "what is that" referring to the LSS that was mounted on top of right rear axle on my 5115M. Fast forward a few months I now have an LSS kit ordered for my 4066R, that is one awesome feature, and you all demonstrated exactly how it works. Well done. That loader suspension system is really well worth the money. I know its optional on the Deere 4 series. It maybe even available on the 3 series. Massey not the first to offer it on the smaller tractors, just maybe the first to actually promote it and tell people what it is and how it works, like they were clearly doing there at the Farm show.
Another UA-cam creator, Cole the Cornstar was at this show. He was at the titan booth with his sprayer and case tractor. You can see them in your video when you were looking at big bud. Did you get a chance to meet him?
I attended tech school at Rantoul, then it was my first assignment as they retained me in the Maintenence department at the School. The facility closed shortly after.
That is the model tractor I'm looking at getting only I'm looking at the open station tractor!! 👍👍 Third function a graple, backhoe, loader and box blade. Now I'm considering checking into that dampening valve not sure what it was called exactly so will have to watch the video again to catch it but looks like would be an awesome feature
Tim, not sure if it has been mentioned here but deere has the ride accumulator ( they call it loader suspension) as an option on the 4R tractor with a 440r loader. I have it on my 4066r thinking I would use it a lot but mostly leave it off. I really need to give it a real test.
Iseki make a good tractor. Been around them for the best part of 30 years. Well put together. And they will do 10,000hours + got a 2001 Ta550f cab (55hp 4wd) 6500 hours. Only thing that's needed fixing was the clutch.
I Have a love and hate relationship with your videos Tim!! I can watch your channel all day but man o man it is getting expensive. New 2025R came mid July.(first Tractor ever). Mid mount mower( what a time saver), backhoe( boulders, electric lines and stump removal has been a lot of fun)and the loader( With a scoop scoop here and a scoop scoop there) 😁 . Then came the box blade which has already proven its value on my driveway. With plans of regrading the yard brought the rota tiller and as for the clearing out all the under brush in the woods. Go go gadget Artillian grapple has been delivered! Bush hog coming soon 😊. I suppose I might as well get a trailer which makes me think a new 2500 instead of my 1500 pickup. LOL , I have visions of rakes and tree cutter poles dancing in my head.. Thanks Tim , I think😜
The 410 head on the JD 95 with tracks is a factory built head. Yes it was basically two 210 corn heads siamesed together. LOTS of moving parts and lots of augers. Can't think it was one of Deeres' finer engineering moments.
Nice tractor How Much more expensive? I probably can't justify the expense for the about of time I use the Tractor(s) I have now, L-2501 & 1948 Ford 8N I like the rear remotes and the PTO clearance, of course Yes to the Cab and the FEL accumulator, and the HP it has Maybe one day but probably not Thank You Tim for Your Massey Tractor Tour Well presented Ken in Florida
You just can't let the PTO shaft height from drawbar go can you? 🤣 BTW I have the MX5400. Sounds like you to need to trade your Kubota for a Massey Ferguson.
Nice Farm Show, would love to be able to walk through all this Equipment. Im getting my first compact tractor soon, a Solis 26. Solis (Sonalinka) is a really big and well known Brand in Europe, but i have never heard you mention that Brand. I wonder if this Brand is not available in USA, because it is really competitive in pricing and quality. For example, a 3. function is standard with this Brand on compact tractors (20 or 26 hp). Would love to see you having a look at this Brand and their Models, maybe they are present at one of the upcoming Farm-Shows if available in the USA!?
@@TractorTimewithTim Thats what i thought, maybe you will see it one day or another on a show, would be happy to see you giving it a quick check if you have the chance!:) love your channel, gave me so much knowledge before even owning a tractor!..

VP and husband talked over emails and by lunch a Titan team member had found tires and a dealership. As we say here in Maine Wicked Good customer service
I'm a little unclear on the drawbar clearance issue. Unless you've got something attached to the drawbar, why not remove it when necessary? The CV may still hit the drawbar receiver, but it'll be at a much larger angle than with the drawbar installed.
Nice presentation of the farm show Tim. Also very interesting regarding the 5 1/2" distance on the Kubota pto to hitch dimension. Liked the Sassy Massey review and explanation of the accumulator. That's offered on the Deere Series 2 with a snowblower on the front 3pt hitch. But as I am looking to build up a somewhat bare 2018 2032r I am considering a 4 in 1 bucket for grapple purposes and cost. I liked seeing the 4 in 1 bucket in action at Kenny's property. By the way, already ordered a 4 port hydraulic multiplier from Summit because of your excellent videos on this subject.
Some great info there Tim I wonder if kubota is trying to get the maximum amount of ground clearance by having to drop by so High, strange. I did a double take when I saw monster max in the thumbnail thought it was the wrong channel for a second lol
In terms of comparison to the Kubota line, I believe that Massey 1840 with the premium features is a much closer comparison to the Grand L4060, which also has the soft PTO start, the sound isolated cab, 3 range transmission (plus a two speed auto/manual electronic shift giving 6 range options), up to 3 rear SCV’s, and a whole lot more in terms of premium features (except no loader accumulator). I looked very closely at the premium Masseys 2 years ago before buying my L4060 and they were a very nice tractor. However, they did not offer an OEM integrated front third function valve, and the dealer was much further away than the Kubota or Deere dealers. The Kubota L4060 has met or exceeded my expectations with the very wide variety of attachments I own or have borrowed. I’m not sure what the fixation is with the PTO spacing but I’ve hooked up countless implements to the Kubota with absolutely no PTO spacing issue. But of course I don’t own a Rino flex wing mower, nor will I, but even and if I did, I’m sure I could use a different PTO shaft rather than that enormous one that comes with it, which looks difficult to get your hands around even to hook up. And there’s one other anomaly with that Rino mower: If that 10’ flex wing truly only needs 25 HP to run, it certainly does NOT require a PTO shaft that ridiculously big. Moreover, I wouldn’t let that one implement with an oddball PTO shaft determine my tractor choice.
@@TractorTimewithTim Yes, you did mention the L4060 as one of the comparative tractors, but I was making the point that the Grand L was the closest comparison as opposed to the standard L series. I didn’t intend to be argumentative whatsoever, but rather was just trying highlight which Kubota was the most direct comparative unit. The standard L wouldn’t have anywhere near the same features as that 1840, but of course that would be reflected in the pricing. I do, however, find the continued highlighting of the PTO spacing to be a continuing slight against the Kubota brand. You have every right, of course, to point it out, but the reality is that the slightly less PTO to drawbar spacing is no issue whatsoever for the hundreds - if not thousands - of possible rear attachments that can be used on those Kubota’s. It’s rare to even have the drawbar installed with the vast majority of attachments, and even if it was installed, it wouldn’t be an issue with a typical PTO shaft designed for up to say 60 HP. I still don’t understand why such a huge shaft is required for a “25 HP rated” attachment. I’ve never seen anything of that size with any attachment designed for a compact tractors in the 20-60 HP range. Hence, to me at least, it’s that huge Rino PTO shaft that is the problem - not the PTO spacing.
Yea, definitely not a competitor to the standard L. I specifically mentioned L4060 and L3560. Kioti has the same drawbar limitations as the Kubota, but they were not at the show. Someone has to point out these design limitations, or they will never be improved. As you can see from this video, the major Ag manufacturers provide ample separation. Sorry it offends you. I point out deficiencies that I see on any brand. This is the only way the machines will be improved. Perhaps your attitude would change if I spent some time bragging about the 2 speed shift on the go hydrostatic tranny of the Grand L? I like that a LOT. Great useful feature.
Website says no UTV's allowed but Tim said there were several at the show. Did I hear that wrong? My FIL would love to go to shows like this but he has mobility issues. Thought my UTV might be a solution.
Did you know that universal email sent out to all John Deere dealers there are no parts avail at manufacturer now and not sure on available dates when parts will be available now
Yes, parts are scarce. However, I wouldn't say "No parts are available'. They are still making parts and tractors, but there are definitely supply problems.
I never would've thought I'd see MonsterMax on TTWT.

Do you have any plans to come to the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, GA held every October? It would be awesome to see you there!
I think it is the same week as GIE in Louisville. Unfortunately.
Tim, not sure if it has been mentioned here but deere has the ride accumulator ( they call it loader suspension) as an option on the 4R tractor with a 440r loader. I have it on my 4066r thinking I would use it a lot but mostly leave it off. I really need to give it a real test.
That Big Bud tractor would be awesome for brush hogging around the farmstead.
My Dad used two Belgian Draft horses on the farm in Arkansas.
Iseki make a good tractor. Been around them for the best part of 30 years. Well put together. And they will do 10,000hours + got a 2001 Ta550f cab (55hp 4wd) 6500 hours. Only thing that's needed fixing was the clutch.
I bought an 1840m this year. You're welcome to come on over and test your mower with it.
Ha! Thanks for the funny comment! What about a new shop to store all of this stuff!?!
The 410 head on the JD 95 with tracks is a factory built head. Yes it was basically two 210 corn heads siamesed together. LOTS of moving parts and lots of augers. Can't think it was one of Deeres' finer engineering moments.
Uhoh! Looked cobbled. I assumed it was homemade!!
Nice tractor
How Much more expensive?
I probably can't justify the expense for the about of time I use the Tractor(s) I have now, L-2501 & 1948 Ford 8N
I like the rear remotes and the PTO clearance, of course Yes to the Cab and the FEL accumulator, and the HP it has
Maybe one day but probably not
Thank You Tim for Your Massey Tractor Tour
Well presented
Ken in Florida
You just can't let the PTO shaft height from drawbar go can you? 🤣 BTW I have the MX5400. Sounds like you to need to trade your Kubota for a Massey Ferguson.
Folks need to know!
I may have seen this brand mentioned once, but it is certainly not prominent in the USA.
@@TractorTimewithTim Thats what i thought, maybe you will see it one day or another on a show, would be happy to see you giving it a quick check if you have the chance!:) love your channel, gave me so much knowledge before even owning a tractor!..
Titan tire went to bat for us.. recieved a $100 off coupon, local tire dealers could not get tire for 755 supposedly.. sent a email to marketing on coupon... by 6 am recieved email back next day .. VP and husband talked over emails and by lunch a Titan team member had found tires and a dealership.
As we say here in Maine
Wicked Good customer service
I liked this episode a lot thanks.
I liked watching those small tractor's plowing
I enjoyed it too…especially when I was talking with that guy while he was plowing.
They should have let you try the Big Bud Tim ;)
Glad to see you in my backyard, here in God’s county.
I'm a little unclear on the drawbar clearance issue. Unless you've got something attached to the drawbar, why not remove it when necessary? The CV may still hit the drawbar receiver, but it'll be at a much larger angle than with the drawbar installed.
The attached mower in this video shows the minimal clearance.
Enjoyed the video! Thanks!
Im sure Kubota does that to get more advertised ground clearance at the rear of the tractor.
The guy on that 1955 was oliver66farmboy
Must not be in the United States for front 3pt hitch over here
2R and 3R offer front 3 point for snow blower and blade….in the USA.
That looks like a lawn tractor with mudder tires!
Some great info there Tim I wonder if kubota is trying to get the maximum amount of ground clearance by having to drop by so High, strange. I did a double take when I saw monster max in the thumbnail thought it was the wrong channel for a second lol
I do think this is done to maximize ground clearance.
I thought a 747 was an airplane! 😆 🤣 😂 😹
Did you run into Kenny Kizzell, or Squatch there?
I mentioned the L4060 as the closest Kubota matchup didn’t I? Your tone comes across as argumentative.
Great video Tim 🚜 I really enjoyed this video 🇺🇲
Website says no UTV's allowed but Tim said there were several at the show. Did I hear that wrong?
My FIL would love to go to shows like this but he has mobility issues. Thought my UTV might be a solution.
Two different shows. Half century of progress allows utv’s.
@@TractorTimewithTim Perfect, thanks for the clarification Tim.
Dang I was very shocked to see montermax 2.0 on TTWT. That would have made a good thumbnail!
Nice Wednesday surprise video!
Whislindiesel X TTWT collab?
Uh-oh tim time to try out a massey ferguson
I see you got Oliverfarmboy66 at 14:09
