Hi Olga, I really like your channel and your positive mood) I also grow a rose garden, I agree, the "Queen of Sweden" is a beautiful narrow rose, I planted a "Twilight zone" rose next to it. Greetings from Moscow, I'm Kate!
Hi Kate! Glad you are here! What a striking combination of color it must be between pink Queen of Sweden and purple Twilight Zone! Does Twilight Zone have good disease resistance?
@@OlgaCarmody Olga, I just recently planted the " Twilight zone" and I can't say yet, but I prophylactically treat all roses against insects and diseases once a month, combining with leaf feeding with various combinations of NPK depending on the month and flowering stage)
Hi Olga, I recently came across your channel and have throughly been enjoying your videos! Informative and also entertaining. Your gardens are beautiful, as is the cinematography - I love the little clips set to classical music, capturing all the beauty around you. You’re an artist!
Hi Olga, thank you very much for your educational videos always. Can you tell me how many Queen of Sweden have you planted in front of the window. It looks quite wide.
There used to be 5 I believe, but my maple trees are getting too much shade in the frond of my house and roses started to struggle there. I am afraid some of them won't make it through the winter....
I planted 3 bare-root 'Queen of Sweden' roses this spring in honor of my mother and her 2 sisters because they're half Swedish. Behind those I have several varieties of panicle hydrangeas and a 'Black Lace' elderberry, all of which grow 6-9 feet tall. Mmm, I can't wait to see them at maturity. My 'Princess Alexandra of Kent' I planted in a container because I, too, had a new roof installed. It's blooming already and the fragrance is so wonderful. Thank you for showing us the potential of this sweet rose. By the way, in this same garden I have a dwarf apple tree with many developing apples in its second season! "Someone" has been eating the leaves. I suspect Japanese beetles. I heard one should take off the affected leaves because the beetles leave a hormone behind to attract more of the pests. That would leave the tree nearly naked. I garden organically. I do have those yellow sticky traps.
You know what I do for my apple tree? In spring I put scotch tape around the trunk, approx. one foot wide and on it I smear lard. All the crawling insects can’t get on the tree when they wake up in spring. And we have apples, not perfect ones, but still I consider it a big success for the amount of work I put into it. Your rose, hydrangea and elderberry design sounds so good!
Beautiful rose of Sweden and your beautiful house and I love to see your video your garden plants looks so healthy, ! I just bought the fertilizer that you introduced to us organic one, I’m going to use it soon . maybe next time you can also introduce your hydrangea, they look beautiful too👍👍
Beautiful 🤩 i just got like 12 roses from Heirloom Roses and included a Queen Of Sweden and a Lady of Shallot … Lady of Shallot is already here im waiting for Queen of Sweden to ship next week. So excited 😆 Thanks for sharing your garden 🙏🏻
I love this rose! I'm planting one below my deck railing so when I am on my porch, I can look down at it's beautiful smiling face looking up at me. ☺️🥰

For anyone curious, I was able to overwinter this rose outside in zone 6a in a pot. They came back this spring and have new shoots. So pretty hardy as long as you don’t let the roots freeze in the pot
Hello Olga, your gardening channel has helped me learn SO much. I’m new to growing roses. I live in Wisconsin zone 4b. I received my own root Queen of Sweden about a week ago & im keeping it in the box because at night we have 35*F Would it be safe to plant it into the ground yet? I checked on the rose & it looks like it’s breaking dormancy. Гарного дня!
Hi Larisa, roses are coming to us this time of the year as dormant roots, so it is safe to plant them out, as long as your soil is workable. Reputable sellers ship roses in appropriate time for your zone to plant.
Great video. I have a question what kind of disease did you get on that rose? You didn’t say… also if you do plant more bushes behind them how much space do you need. I heard they need air circulation. I am asking, because I got 4 David Austin Crocus roses and my idea is it to plant them in a bed just like yours.
Those roses were miserable one year. Roof people who came to replace our roof, probably were thinking that I am a crazy garden lady, giving them super detailed instructions were they cannot step in my garden. My Queen of Sweden got black spot that year, which is typical disease in NE USA since we have humidity. This fall those roses finished the season very healthy, I must say! I am happy with that!
Ahaa beautiful garden nice to have a garden tour😊
Thanks 😊

Love your garden! What is the name of the hydrangea in the background, Is it Annabelle Incrediball ?
You are correct, it is Incrediball, still standing strong at the end of December.

Wonderful! Nice that this rose lived through the winter in the pot. Good to know.
Смотрю на нее и не могу понять: нужна она мне или нет. Места мало, у меня уже около 20 роз Остина, а места нет ;) У вас очень красивый сад!
This rose is veeerrry narrow in growth and definitely can’t tolerate any semi shade.

Wow just ordered this beauty

How many Queen of Sweden rose plants to you have in the front? Is it three or just one?
I have 2 established shrubs, working to do more there.

very hard to get this rose in Australia
This rose is really narrow, there are places in the garden where we need that.
I wonder if you cut them way back, if they wouldn’t branch a little wider for you?
I don’t want to do that, I think that it is a matter of maturity. They should get bigger with age.
