Sofía rocks the Zenobia

- In the bay of Larnaca, Cyprus, lies the wreck of the MS Zenobia, a ferry that sank there in 1980. The top of the wreck is 20 meters deep, the bottom at about 45, and it is considered one of the best wreck dives in the world. Combine that with one of the best freedivers in the world, and you got something pretty, eh, best.
Sofía Gómez Uribe is a world record setting freediver from Colombia, and on her first visit to Cyprus, she of course had to visit this legendary site. Now some divers stay on the outside, some just poke their heads in, but Sofía, well, you'll see.

Love the calm of her going down at the start and back up at the end. Funny, those moments appeal to me even more than the whole part inside the wreck. Maybe it works so well because of the contrast with the darkness of the wreck
those were also trickiest to film, somehow!
The camera angles and her slow, deliberate movements give me a sense of cautious calmness.

I love the colors in the wreck, the reds and yellows and greens. They contrast so nicely with her blue suit and her skin tones. Was that a deliberate choice? Great work from both of you!

Yes, any dive into an overhead environment makes me a bit nervous - we always make sure there's good safety free divers keeping an eye on us

@@DaanVerhoeven Luxury! You were lucky to have 10 degrees in your SEA! We are landlocked and _we_ had to go and dive in a _lake_ ! There were a hundred and sixty of us diving in 6 degrees water by the road. All we had was a cup of _cold_ tea. Without milk or sugar. _Or_ tea! We had to drink out of a rolled up newspaper. But you try and tell the young people today that, and they won't believe ya'! Nope, nope... :D

yes, we wanted to do the whole wreck over a few days, but then i got covid and had to self-isolate for 10 days, so we only had one dive day left!

Really-really unreal! I love underwater world because it's so different, so unreal, so beautiful and dangerous... And wreck diving is very interesting. When I see some wreck inside or even outside, I think about people, who were there, how did they live, how did they die? And say Sofia - she's very gracious 😍
Agreed - Sofe is amazing. Luckily nobody got injured during the sinking of the Zenobia.
Her ascent from the dive was amazing. Did she purposefully want to look like she was moonwalking? 😂 And obviously Sofia looks incredible on all her dives, she's a total jaw dropper ✨🍑✨

Thank you! If she does nothing and just lays on th surface, more than 5 1/2 minutes. Diving she can go about 3 minutes.
