Totally agreed. I love Frusciante’s solo releases up to 2005, Josh was a huge part of that and I’m sure was a major creative contributor. I really enjoyed Josh’s drum style on those albums as well. I honestly had the feeling that John was grooming him to replace him at some point, and I am of the opinion that a lot of the dramatic stuff we have been told surrounding Josh and John for RHCP was probably just a plot to sell records.
John has ghosted Josh since he took his spot in RHCP. Flea said he told John he wouldn’t carry on RHCP without him. Josh is open to collaborating with John who continues to ghost Josh. Chad has recorded with Josh post-Peppers as core musicians on Eddie Vedder’s solo album, Iggy Pop’s latest album. This proves Chad is the coolest Pepper and Josh is a first rate musician on vocals, guitar, keyboards, drums, and probably bass. No grooming needed.
@@Kudo716 the way he sings, his playing stylel, and he's gone on to work with multiple other people that John frusciante worked with that are from john's generation and he also uses a lot of the same mannerisms. To me, it seems like he wants to be john
