Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers were a great rock band formed in 1976. They had a lot of great hits such as "Breakdown", "American Girl", "Refugee", "The Waiting", "Learning To Fly", "Mary Jane's Last Dance", "Don't Do Me Like That", "You Got Lucky", "Change Of Heart", "I Need To Know", "Listen To Her Heart" etc. In 1989 Petty went solo & had quite a few hits such as "I Won't Back Down", "Free Fallin'", "You Don't Know How It Feels" etc. He was also part of the supergroup "Travelling Willburys" in 1988-91.
Love this song. The layered vocals in the chorus always get me. The tight harmony and the way the vocals are stacked are signature Jeff Lynne production elements. And c’mon, Ringo on drums? Doesn’t get much better. Great overall slice of pop rock.
@@amyk9175 I like to imagine he actually laid down the drum tracks in the studio as well as appeared in the video. 😆 Wasn’t it actually Ringo’s son who laid down the drum tracks for the recording?

"Formed in 1976" is misleading since most of them had been together for years under one name or another.
Loved Tom...one of the best musicians. He was great with the Traveling Wilburys.

Rings on drums was for video only, though George played acoustic guitar in the recording.

@@jerrycote659 the whole album used session drummer Phil Jones.
I miss Tom. Such a huge talent.
2 Beatles, bound to be a great tune, not to mention a certain Jeff Lynne, Of course Tom is a stand out legend in his own right.
Just a few Tom Petty songs to consider: "Breakdown", "Crawlin' Back To You", "You Got Lucky", and "Don't Come Around Here No More".
3 members of the Travelling Willburys in this video - or if you prefer, 50% of the Beatles.
That was 🔥🔥🔥
10cc - I'm Not In Love (1975) react now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I click "Videos" on your channel, I see "This Channel Has No Videos", but obviously you do. Site glitch?
Good tune, but one of his weaker songs. He's got dozens better than this one.
