    Too many folks concerned with the camera lens or quality of video. This is a construction video. They are not cinematographers. The other part is the part to focus on…the construction. I would be suspicious if these guys were GQ models with a team of videographers, personally. I found it interesting, guys! Wanna build one of these! I think the land around me would be massively expensive and if I could find some acreage without restrictions, it’d be off grid. Sounds romantic. But a single woman in a heavily snow covered area with dangerous freezing temps at times, may have to ponder that one pretty hard. Until my next life, I’ll keep watching and dreaming!

    Great work! If only you were located in Northern Wisconsin, currently trying to find someone to build a Avrame Trio 150. Seems like many contractors are scared of “kits”… Any recommendations, could this be a self-build?

    • @IRONHORSEhomes
      @IRONHORSEhomes  Рік тому +3

      Find a way to get your foundation and concrete done by a professional and I'll come out for 2 weeks and erect the kit. You can do pretty much everything from there. Quality contractors shouldn't be scared of kits! If you have construction background or carpentry skills you could get the structural kit erected, otherwise I would not recommend. Hope this helps and good luck!

    Maybe next time don't use a fish lense, hard to see and very distracting. Otherwise looks awesome!

    Where in Colorado was this? Looking at the Avrame kits and would love to have some one that has used their kit before doing the construction.

    Hey did you’re footings call for vertical dowels? Getting ready to build one in Bailey. Thanks!

    • @IRONHORSEhomes
      @IRONHORSEhomes  6 місяців тому

      Yeah you need vertical dowels centered in the middle of your 8" wall to connect footings to stem wall. So if your footing is 16" wide you want them 8" from outside footing form. We usually tie our dowels in place before we pour footings but you can also cut and bend them so inspector sees them and stab them after you pour once your concrete has had time to set up.

    why in the heck didn't you put the subfloor down first so you could work safe. You also didn't need a crane to put those top pieces on if you had the subfloor down first. Two guys could have put them in place with a block and tackle very easily and maybe even quick. You could have even made the top pieces on the second level. You added a lot of extra cost and time by not putting that subfloor down first. This had to be your first house build. Just watching you work with not guards on the second floor and just pieces of OSB to walk on gave me the shivers!

      @@Steadfastly7 Never find myself very compelled to respond to keyboard warriors with 100 years of construction experience. Those top truss rafters are around 18’ of LVL joining at an 18/12 pitch, two guys aren’t swinging that. Some of the wall struts weren’t perfect with this being a prefab kit so I didn’t slap sheets until I knew all hardware was installed and my floor was still square. We had those trusses and floor on in a week 😂 thanks for the comment God Bless

      Basements are between 8-10'. Saved more than 60k by not doing the basement just in excavation and concrete costs, not to mention what interior finishes, appliances, etc would cost. Adequate space within the floor plan at more than 1500 square feet. Crawlspace still gives heaps of room for storage, etc.

    The most useless building ever, I'm sorry, but every time you go in one, duck your head.
    A waste of materials and labor
    I was in an A Frame of sorts
    The base was 4 ft high and the frame mounted to that, thus no banging and ducking, nice set up.
