      You really should not go too near a swan with cygnets, if they feel threatened , they will attack you, and are more than capable of breaking your arm.

      Autumn skylol the baby would have died either way. He could not bring it into his care as that is illegal. The baby would have died from the cold if not drowning as the water went through it's feathers. They did all they could.

    They should climb on the mother’s back… I wonder if the mother had a way to tell them- was wiggling the tail a way to tell the babies?

    With us swans can take their little ones under the wings. This couple doesn't seem very experienced.

    Oh no! I know it's nature, but I would have tried to save that one baby! And ring animal ambulance, maybe they could make it nice and strong and give it a nice pond to live in. I see the lost ugly duckling story in my head now.

    I don't understand why you didn't pick up that baby that was struggling? He needed help and you knew it. Evil triumphs when good does nothing.

      Apparently though it would have done more harm than good. If he saved the cygnet from drowning and left it, it would have died from the cold air since the water already gotten through its feathers and the man wouldn't have been able to take care of it since its actually illegal to do so since they are considered to be a native wild animal and under a protection law of some kind. They did the best they could at the time.

      "Evil triumphs when good does nothing", good and evil is a human construct. Nature is the strong and adaptable survive and pass on their genetics and knowledge to their kids, and so on. There is no special program or swan assistance in the wild for swans to attend if they ever need help, they starve or get eaten. That's it.

    • @clownbites2290
      @clownbites2290 6 років тому +4

      Jolie1 The swan would have attacked the man as swans are famous for being extremely overprotective parents. Hell, a person was drowned by one as he came "too close" to a swan's nest and relentlessly attacked him.
      What he did was smart, please read the description of the video or research the animal before commenting something like this.....

      I dont understand why they didn't try to help the weak one, clearly needed help, why not bring it to wildlife aid, or any other wildlife charity, so what if the Swan tried to attack

    Maybe if you guys would let nature run its course then the duckling and the rest of them wouldnt have had to swim around for a while. You cause more problems interfering.

    I agree with everyone else that noticed these people are too lazy and more focused on the camera, they literally intervened with a net and tote cover probably making more stress on the baby and parent causing them to panic more by standing around pritty much blocking them from getting onto the shore by standing there watching video taping. Maybe if thee guys left them alone after saving the baby the mother would not of abandoned the nest. I wonder how long they took using that shovel disturbing the nest area. Seems to me like they went way overboard & wasted time with the shovel & most likely made the whole situation worse. instead of going nuts with the shovel why didn't they put any effort into saving the baby. There is no excuse for not leaning over with the net and scooping that poor baby up. Why didn't these people save this poor baby, all they had to do was scoop him or her up and bring it indoors wrap it in a towel and drying it off with a hair dryer for a little while until the baby is recovered from hypothermia instead of watching it drown to death. This guy calls himself some kind of hero. I am disgusted with this video. I'm a veterinary technician and know for a fact that baby should of been saved. If I was there I would of walked right into that water and saved that baby the correct WAY. If your not part of the solution to the problem, then you are the problem. I think these people should be charged with animal cruelty. The evidence is clearly in the video.

    Lastly and more importantly, bc these guys wouldn't leave the swans alone I can guarantee those eggs definitely never hatched bc these two men would not leave the nest area alone. Eggs cannot survive more than a few minutes after incubation has started. They cannot be left unattended that long bc the eggs will get cold and sadly im 100% sure those eggs never hatched. Im a hatching master and know. The baby should've been saved. So, technically they killed 4 babies and no one has pressed charges on them for animal cruelty. These guys should be charged with animal cruely and someone needs to say something to make that happen & should be fired and lose there job. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EVIL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • @clownbites2290
      @clownbites2290 6 років тому

      Caramelo Bear The mother would have attacked him if he tried, this would obviously make the situation even worse than it already is. The cygnet would have died from the cold as it is water logged and he can't take it and care for it. He did everything he could.

      It would not have meant much, it would die within the day due to exposure as it is waterlogged.

    You are trying to intervene with the harsh processes of natural selection. I too feel for the suffering. But the fact is that such harsh environmental exposure is the basis of evolution. Only the fittest are meant to survive and propagate. Unless a species has been endangered because of human influence (i agree that there are a lot of those around), you might want to stay away. Just an opinion ,ultimately its your call. For you are also a derivative of nature, and hence philosophically a natural participant.

    This is a bad video that shows how evil humans are rather than the stupidity of the swans. I am not sure on how the swans came about since none of the videos really explain it. The do exist in the wild, but you can also buy them. Either way, we have people who choose to intervene but then only commit just enough to make a quality video to increase UA-cam view counts. All of the swans could have been saved or otherwise the people could have never bothered them and let Mother Nature take its course. There should be no in-between situation. Also, some statements are repeated multiple times in the video to increase the length of it. Pretty sad.

      When we approached the swan, she led the cygnets back into the water away from us. So we set up a ramp and then stood back. Five cygnets used this and survived. One was already waterlogged and drowned. This channel gets no revenue from the video.

    • @jeffer2350
      @jeffer2350 7 років тому

      You knew there was a problem while filming them before the mother swan got back into the water. At that time the cygnets were close to the shore and could have even been scooped up by a person without getting wet. But it seemed like good video was more important for your story.

    • @jakeydee1000
      @jakeydee1000 7 років тому +5

      You cannot "scoop up" a cygnet in front of its mother. It's not as simple as that.

    • @jeffer2350
      @jeffer2350 7 років тому

      You can't do anything when you have a camera in your hand. But of course priorities are important. Film the drama for your website is important.
      I have seen people scoop them up in other videos.

    • @jakeydee1000
      @jakeydee1000 7 років тому +7

      We saved five out of the six cygnets. It's a pity we couldn't save the other one but when we approached, the mother led them away in the water. It's not as easy as you seem to think.
