You shouldn’t be underwhelmed. It’s not an HK. It’s produced by Umarex and licensed to used the HK brand. Take it for what it is, a fun way to have an affordable unicorn clone. (I remember like a decade ago when they first released these you could buy them for $400 something ... times have changed. I love these guns, my friend has this one and I have the “HK G36” .22lr.
Good review. Glad to see some will speak their mind rather than always try to impress. I just got mine yesterday and can verify basically all that you said. I might note I paid a lot more because here in california everything is plenty higher (as well as paperwork fees, wait times, and long drives on the highways), and can vouch that, although this gun looks nice, it's more of a disappointment. Edit: I'll somewhat change my take. I stand by that it's bulky and weighty for a little 22, but otherwise it's alright. I wouldn't buy it if I started over, but I'll keep it now.
I have the A5 model. I put picatinny rail and red dot on it. Very, very accurate.

If the brace is as good as the A3 it might be worth taking off and putting it on the the SP5
Very concise review! Keep me posted on your journey with HK.
