I have the UV-17Pro. About the only changes I can see are: 1) You lose the GPS 2) Torch moved from the bottom back up to the top 3) PTT button is now a trigger (for lack of a better word) 4) Power button and top row of keypad is different 5) Different supplied antenna Have I missed anything? @@imeprezime1069 Yes I do like the 17 Pro. The GPS works great however I haven't found anything you can do with it other than see your location. As for the feel, it's most definitely a more quality feel than the UV-5 series radio's. Screen is just ok in direct sunlight but great when in a bit of a shadow. I prefer the 17 Pro over my Alinco DJ-MD5 mainly due to it being so much easier to get around in the menus. Keep in mind it's no Kenwood, Yaesu, or Icom but Baofeng has stepped up their game, IMO.

I have the 17s and I have the 18s. The 17 are better for me. They’re way cooler got a way better flashlight and they can do everything the 18s can do plus the buttons are much easier to press.

I believe you have to assign a channel its before you can make off settings. Took me time , its different than a lot of radios but I really like mine. Did you notice when you got to Bank and enter its in Chinese? I'm trying to create Banks for my frequencies. Please reply if you unlock that door. Thank you for the vids. I always have a Euro to UK plug just in case I need it for the charger, but we are entering the type C usb age, so will probably never require it.. Never seen a UK plug like that, don't you need the top prong to open the main bottom (×2) prongs on the socket.

Are you satisfied with UV17 Pro GPS ? I heard some good things about that radio, and it feels like an decent upgrade from Baofeng

It's not dual VFO so you can buy you only will hear one at a time .

You seem to have been unlucky with the power output on your radio. On 70cms & two metres I get over five watts on a Bird Wattmeter.
Has anyone tested the output wattage? Its advertised as an 18W HT.
