TL;DW CNCKitchen has been running a successful UA-cam channel for the past 8 years, initially starting as a hobby to share his research. Over time, it has grown into a significant part of his life. However, balancing the UA-cam channel with his full-time job as an aerospace research engineer and his family life has become increasingly challenging and stressful. To address this, CNCKitchen has decided to quit his full-time job and pursue UA-cam and his other business ventures (selling heat set inserts) as his primary focus. I appreciate this video you were transparent in your income which gives a lot clearer picture of what someone can avhieve with youtube and where you can grow. I don’t think this was clickbait as it is general nowdays that when a content creator quites his/her “main” job even grows bigger they try to explain it in a title but no sentence is worthy of summarising it in such short words. So I just want to express my appreciation to your work and time and for opening to us like that! Thank you!
Congratulations! As much as this may seem like a stressful and uncertain step to take during what may be uncertain times, this is the dream - whether on youtube or off - to seize control over your own day to day life and livelihood, and do the work that you find rewarding and fulfilling.
And I wanted to add - though it is none of my business - as I am also a father, I definitely know that our children can also tell when we are feeling fulfilled and happy in our lives. Taking steps to improve your life in this way shows them that a better world is possible!
Thanks Stephan. We wish you much luck in your future endeavors. It is good to chase your dreams and it was clear from the start that you were destined for greater things than just a UA-cam channel. Thank you for the education and effort. Ad astrum!
Congrats on running your business full time! Its a very scary but exciting step 🙂 and congrats on the studio. Cool that you can collaborate and share the space with others.

I love the fact that 2 people I like and follow are teaming up. I was pleasantly surprised to see you in the background while watching MH's shop video a few days ago.
On that heating system: While it isn't efficient, it will likely burn 15-30% more oil than a correct, modern boiler. But you need to be careful with the temperature, as this is a normal boiler (Heizwertkessel), not a condensing boiler (Brennwertkessel), so you can't run it below 35°C, or it will rust out and flood the room. I don't have any data to use for an estimate (the measurement paper from the Schornsteinfeger, yearly oil use) but I guess it will likely cost 1000-2000€ more per year than a modern one. Not cheap, but (at least in the beginning) better than a 10-20k€ replacement. If the landlord pays for it, that's ok, otherwise, it might initially be cheaper to leave it in there and save up. I never worked on this particular model, but do have some experience with the newer version of it, and it was generally good.
In this combination you should use an underfloor heating mixing kit with a pump. So you run your heater system at 75°C (or more if it is a unregulated constant heater) and at the underfloor heating side you can configure the mixer unit to 35°. Also you can set the pump to high volumetric thruput to reduce ΔT
@@kenank7053 In the background, there are a lot of radiators on the walls, so I assumed that's the only heating type installed, and radiators don't melt at 90°C, unlike plastic pipes. With floor heat, I prefer to use a plate heat exchanger for isolation, as plastic pipes have oxygen diffusion (even if they say they don't), which could cause the boiler to rust out, so a 100€ heat exchanger plus second safety group and expansion tank end up saving a 4000€ boiler. That way, you can have the corrosive water in the floors in a separate circuit, never coming into contact with your boiler's perfectly clean little circuit.
I don't get why people keep considering only _replacing_ boilers. It makes more sense to keep the old boiler but add a heat pump and switch between the heat sources depending on the weather. The boiler is ridiculously inefficient most of the year, but it's actually quite appropriate for those few really cold weeks where the heat pump can't cope.
@@leftaroundabout I agree, and actually do that quite a lot. But usually the boiler and heat pump are both connected to a central buffer, which allows you to use both at once for extra power while still making the most of the heat pump, and increases the boiler's burner run time, allowing the flame tube of blue burners to actually reach its full 1000-2500°C operating temp. for more than a few minutes, increasing the burner's life span. That's actually exactly the system I use myself. A 24kW oil boiler, combined with a 7kW heat pump and 800L buffer. The heat pump does most work above freezing, and the oil boiler mostly takes over below freezing, with the heat pump fully stopping at ~-7°C, as it becomes too inefficient then.
Congratulations, big changes, but looks like the tri-amigos are laying the groundwork to be more sustainable, and enjoyable. The path a head looks bright, with ideas and good memories. Regarding the heating (oil burner), I'd recommend looking into replacing with a heat pump. They deliver 4-6x the amount of heat energy to the amount of energy purchased. Also works double duty to keep cool during the increasing number of hot summer days.

Congratulations on the change in focus and the new space, but I have to say, I hate Quit-bait. I'm seeing it more and more often, a UA-camr puts out a video that makes it seem like they're announcing the end of the channel, usually with a dark thumbnail and text like "The End", "This is over", or "I Quit". You click in, and surprise, they're not ending the channel but actually ramping up, moving to a new place, or changing something of some varying significance. Just a couple weeks ago, Mrwhosetheboss put out one that looks almost the same as this one, with the title "My Last Video Here", turns out he's bought a house and is moving out of the place he used to record his videos at. I get the intention behind this kind of thing, the desire to give the good news in a way that doesn't feel like bragging and is not instantly spoiled by the title or thumbnail; but it's a very dirty bait and switch. You bank on the snap reaction of "oh no, this person I like is giving up, maybe something bad happened", and no, it turns out it's actually good news. Irritating. But again, congratulations.
Glad to se you back! One of the best 3d printing, machining and manufacturing channels on UA-cam. Looking forward to the new content with even better testing. P.s Please review the new Carvera Air.

Additionally, in my experience, many others rely more on anecdotal knowledge than on science-based explanations.
We will keep support your channel, can’t wait more awesome contents! ❤
I wish you all the great luck going forward!!!! I have enjoyed your CNC channel for a long time, for entertainment and it has helped me on occasion with my 3D printing too. I will continue to watch your channel and again, good luck to you and your partners!!!!!
great to see the studio progressing and al the changes in your life. Good luck to you. looking forward to all the greatness you'll accomplish there.
So excited for you, You are one of my favorite youtubers and it's mainly because of your "non-youtuber" personality and how differently to approach the platform, the unique topics you tackle, and your quality work.
Good for you, good for us. We will be happy to enjoy more content and cool and interesting projects!!! Thank you Stephan!
Congrats on this step, Stefan! I've been a long-time viewer, and I'm planning to grab some supplies from the store to help you guys with the heat this winter.
Damn you really got me in the first half. I'm super excited to see what this new chapter brings. And thank you for all the incredible value that you're constantly contributing to the community!
Congratulations! Hoping you the best, good luck with the new projects!
Hallo Stefan,
Werner
Thank you for adding "my day job" in small in the thumbnail. Changed this video from panic to fun
Thank you!
LOL at people who wanted to get their comments first.
Whoa, so, so cool.
I can only wish you guys all the best of luck in your future journey.
I'm looking forward to some more excellent content, Stefan 💪
Ad astrum!
I wishing you the best of luck with your move Stefan and lots of a great content form your new studio!
Awesome!! Congratulations on the move and the dedication it takes to do this! Best of luck!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🤙🤙🤙
Congrats on making your dreams come true. Your dedication to precision and maximizing outcomes is inspiring to me and aways appreciated.
Congrats on running your business full time! Its a very scary but exciting step 🙂 and congrats on the studio. Cool that you can collaborate and share the space with others.
Congratulations on the new direction!
Hey Stefan, I really love the walk you are taking (and taking us with you). Never realised you were just living about an hour away from me! Wish you all the best! ;-)
A well thought out decision, it should be better for everyone especially you and your family. I liked your statement that doing all of the work yourselves helps you learn. I learned a long time ago that I never want to do drywall again Good luck moving forward
Holy cow man you threw me for a loop, pleasantly surprised for you and your family.
Awesome news!!! ❤ Wish you all the success you deserve
Congrats on the big step, best wishes on the transition!!
Hi CNC Kitchen, a good decision, as family comes first. It will definitely help us CNC Kitchen followers too as you would have a little bit more time to focus on projects without worrying about a project you work on at work. hopefully you stick around another 8 years or more. regards Ronald From Australia.
tbh that professional background explains a lot! already expected sth like this seeing you in Marius' video and wish you three a more fulfilling life - and us some great collaboration videos 😅
Awesome dude. I know it’s tough and a delicate situation, but you will miss 100% of the opportunities you don’t take.
No regrets, just keep moving forward. Godspeed brother
Best wishes Stefan, and looking forward to your future endeavors.
Good luck with the renewed focus Stefan. The real challenge is often putting off making changes and continuing to feel unhappy. Here's to a great new year!
So happy for you, and glad we can see more of the future of 3D printing. Thank you for the education, I wouldn't be where I am today without you
Thanks for the update. I agree that you appear to need better sound proofing for your studios. Especially in the adjoining walls and probably in the doors. Good luck running shop heavy equipment at the garage entrance while someone is filming. Be sure to update the security at that big drive-away exit.
Congratulations Stefan!!! The new space looks really cool, looking forward to see what you will do next!
Thanks Simone! I'm really looking forward to getting back to work.
Congratulations, Stefan, on your decision! With the enthusiasm you bring to everything you do, you are bound to succeed.
Can’t wait for this studio to be done I really hope it boost your subs by a lot and can make you even more successful
That is so cool. It is inspirational to see. Keep up the good work.
This is such exciting news and I'm so happy for you and the others. I can't wait to see all the new content that you will release over the coming years. I knew your online store would do well because the quality of the products is outstanding, and the prices are great. I've always looked forward to your videos and you helped me tremendously when I first got into the 3D printing hobby. Thank you for making the choice to give more of yourself to all of us.
What new content? He just said he quits, as the title of his youtube channel. He's done. Gone. Finished.
Good luck with the change. Looking forward to the future
Congrats on your new place, many blessings, and luck.
ty for sharing this video and your thoughts! best of luck!
Good for you sir! We in the fdm scene appreciate you and your curlyself :) FINALLY you took the step. Kudos Stefan
Seriously I am very happy for you!
As someone who is just starting their career in this field, hats off to you for inspiring so many people!
I hope we can cross paths one day! I would love to meet you!
Man! You scared me! Your channel is one of the best sources of material and ideas!!! (and I now realized we probably do not live that far away 😁). All the best in this new chapter!
You’ve got one of my favorite channels man! So glad you made this move! Can’t wait to see what is to come. Also podcast?! What podcast?!
That new space looks awesome! I am excited to see what you do with it!
Wow, you got me scared at the beginning, the. I remembered reading about you getting a place with other creators. SO COOL that you get to do this as a full time job.
Congrats. I’m happy for you and new adventure 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I saw Marius' video of the shop and got very excited when he said that you guys were doing this together. I am very excited to see where it goes. After we chatted at OpenSauce and you talked a little about the work life balance I told my wife that you seemed stress. I am very happy for you and know that you will be successful because you are one of those kind of people. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Good to hear from you again. I love your videos, every video that you made are very informativ and I like them very well.
Take care of yourself first! Hard lesson I learned too late in life. Love your work and channel!
Stefan, thank you very much for sharing this personal decision as well as what’s coming for your future. Longtime Fan here in Los Angeles and I made a similar decision just about two years ago. It’s a big change with risks but it’s also rewarding. I wish you all the best. Thank you
Thank you for all your contributions
Great Video dude very wise you think about all these matters, I failed in that. nice to see some one doing it right looking forward to see more
you already had a tremendous impact on 3D printing on the strenght testing of course but as well most importantly on the speed with the flow testing. I'm really happy to see you continue that way
Amazing news! Looking forward to even more of your quality content.
Fantastic news. I thought I saw the 3 of you in Marius' latest video ;) Looking forward to what comes next
Irritating.
But again, congratulations.
umadbro?
Glad to se you back! One of the best 3d printing, machining and manufacturing channels on UA-cam. Looking forward to the new content with even better testing.
P.s Please review the new Carvera Air.
Congratulations, it was quite journey, I wish you all the best from now on
