I just put this fireplace in. The pilot will light and then i have to turn it to almost the 3 to get the fireplace to light. It will burn for about 3-4 minutes and then go out. The pilot will stay lit. Any clue?
OMG thank you so much!! my dad installed the logs which were almost identical to your install. but I lost him last year. He was the pilot lighter as well. I was kinda sketchy on doing this but my mom is chilly so I appreciate your video you have no idea. oh my mom thanks you as well. 🤎🤎🤘🤘🤎🤎
Thanks for the video! We had a leak with our original logs and the guys that came out to fix it replaced our logs with these. Our original gas logs were wired to a light switch to turn them on and off, but they couldn’t figure out how to connect it back to the switch. Is it possible to wire a set like this to a light switch? Thanks!
Hi thank you so much for this great video. I’m still having a problem with mine. I turned off everything last year during the warmer months, now I’m trying to start everything again and nothing is lighting. My gas is on, and my instructions say leave the on/off switch to the OFF position, but I don’t know..? When I push in my igniter, while holding in the pilot, I just hear one click and nothing happens. Do you have any ideas?
Hey Michael Thanks for watching. While holding the pilot in do you hear gas coming out of the pilot tube assembly orifice? If NO then you may need to hold down for a minute or 2 Keep clicking till you see a flame Let me know if this works. I can make you a video if you need me to. That might help.
@@TaddyDigest Thank you. When I hold it down I don’t hear gas coming out. I’ve tried lighting a match-One of those BBQ lighters, Still nothing. I guess I should hold down that pilot button a bit longer.
Just figured it out! I had a contractor come by and we pulled out the unit, something wasn’t connected in the back. All is good now, and as I’ve seen online and read from some comments...a weird smell is normal? This is the first time it’s been on in over a year.
Then you’re covering up where you turn it on at etc. and the flame can’t get down there. You have a whole unit underneath the locks just like in this video.
@@TaddyDigest its a house we bought and the logs were already there so no owners manual but I thought you might know but I think the answer is you can't but thanks anyway

According to youtube description this is Pleasant Hearth insert. Depending on the model reviews many have found it difficult to troubleshoot. One model which Lowe's has discontinued selling has significant issues with maintaining a continuous pilot light with no help from customer 1-800. Manuals do not proved what part numbers are and where they are available for model. Model number is not shown in a visible location on insert and 1-800 customer service rep have no clue as to where location of model number might be. I was really disturb by the fact that a company which produces and sells a heating unit which could cause a fire or explosion in a home or a serious health hazard of carbon monoxide has provided such limited factual information about it's product. @@TaddyDigest
Dear sir, for ventless gas logs, am I supposed to open the damper? Should it stay open all the time if the pilot is lot or only when there is a full flame? Thank you.
I just bought the same logs that burn propane. When I installed them and ran them they gave off a weird smell. I wouldn't say it's a propane smell. Is this normal? Also If I turn the dial below a 4 the flames go out.
Hi, I just installed mine (same unit as the video) and my flame goes down after 5 or 10 minutes and if I go below 4 it shuts off like you are saying. We’re you able to figure anything out?
You do not have to open the ventilator unless you need ventilation in the home. if you have a foam house you may need to open the ventilator if you have a really well insulated house. You may need CO monitor to evaluate your need for ventilation
I have a procom gas fireplace Bought last year. In the spring I shut gas off. Trying to get it the pilot lit and it won’t light now. There is gas getting to the back of the fireplace cause I undid the gas line for a second. I can’t seem to get gas to the the pilot area. Any ideas ?
@@TaddyDigest okay I have a piece of sheet metal above the fire box of the existing fireplace temporarily blocking off the chimney, will that be okay for now? Thanks for the fast response!
Pilot lights & stays lit. However, light goes out when rotating to # 1 Sometimes burner tries to light. Sputters & all go out. Again pilot light goes out when rotating to # 1-2 position ?????
Not sure when the last time my gas fireplace was lit. Had a guy come out to just get it prepped for a safe fire, he looked at it, and said he couldn’t do anything because the pilot won’t even light. Gas line was on, he confirmed it. Also he pointed out that a couple of the fake wood logs were broken. He’s need to clean and reinstall stuff that would cost 950$. Any insight?
Was the previous system vented? I see the valve is actually in the firebox. I have the same. I have been thinking about replacing the vented system with a vent free to get more heat. I have been curious about the valve in the fire box. So you leave it open at all times and control the gas from the log set? Or do you turn it off?
