We sang this song in a concert one time, & I was fine during all the rehearsals, but when it came concert time, I couldn't sing it.. all I could do is cry! WHAT A SONG! Tugged at this Mama's heart strings to the point of being speechless with tears & chills!

I used to sing in churches and people would ask how did I get thru a particularly touching song without crying. I had concluded that I had to "not think" about the words as I sang otherwise the unspeakable grace of God would have me blithering in a puddle and my vocal chords would sproing. 😂

The first time I heard it, I was driving to work. I thought it was a lovely song, and enjoy the lyrics but at the end I started crying and nearly drove off the road. He is the Great "I AM!' nothing can top that.
Mark’s “Just Whenever” goes live “just whenever he feels like it” and it is so amazing to participate with!! He is such a blessing in my life!! I try to catch every live but if I can’t make it, I can watch the replay! At age 69 I grew up singing hymns in church & it’s unbelievable how many I remember not only the tune but also the words for probably well over 50 hymns! I also love Contemporary Christian Worship music too because I was young enough still during the beginnings of worship music in Southern California at Calvary Church Costa to be part of that as well. God has always used music in my life to reach my heart for Him!! I’m so grateful to Mark Lowry for all he has done through his channel!! ❤😊❤
Mark, This past Christmas Eve ( 2 days ago) I took my neighbor who is a Muslim to my Christian church Shepherd in Porter Ranch Ca for the first time., when Mary did you know played she cried and couldn’t stop she was truly moved . Afterwards she asked me if she could come back with me next week. I think you have made a bigger impact through your song than you know. God bless you for leaving such a strong mark on the world. Mark, I have loved this song, like so many others, since the first time I heard it. As a vocalist, I could see the possible impact of hearts and minds when people hear this song. I have also performed it 2 or 3 times and people were stunned by the words.

Oh my gosh that man is so humble and has every right not to be. That is a beautiful song. He also gave credit where it was due with the music behind it. He is also so funny. You sir truly have left a beautiful legacy in this world not just with a song but by being an example of character traits that God has asked of us. My favourite song of all time!!!!! 😊
One of my favorite Christmas songs! I think my favorite version is the one performed by Pentatonix. There's just something about it. Maybe it's because it's a capella, but it gets me every time. I always have to rewind the bridge several times when I'm driving in my car listening to it. "The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again..." So powerful, and all the harmonies really elevate it to another level. But it really doesn't matter who sings the song, because it's powerful on it's own. It's really one of those once in a lifetime songs.
I met Mark Lowery once when he was a student at Liberty College, this was before it became Liberty University. He came with pianist David Musselman and preacher Charles Hughes for a weekend at Calvary Chapel in Minster, Ohio. They were doing a special meeting for our youth group which I was part of. I was either 14 or 15 at the time, I think. I had the privilege of going soul-winning with him on that Saturday and watched as he led an 81-year-old woman to Christ. That was one of the greatest experiences of my life! Mark probably doesn't remember this or even remember me, but I will never forget him.

This touching song makes me cry each and every time! Oh the joy of it all!!! Our son left us years ago and we feel that pain and feel that void each and every single solitary day. Music heals us. Our son tormented us almost daily with his dyed hair, and he pierced his ear (the gay one) and then he married a man from a sh*t hole Country and adopted 3 oprhans out of the gutters. Freedome is our song!

The first time I heard "Mary, Did You Know?", it was on the radio in 2005....sung by Wynonna Judd & Kenny Rogers.....and I burst into tears. My daughter was only 8 at the time and didn't understand why I was so distraught. EVERY time I hear it, no matter who is singing it, I cry. Reading so many comments about this beautiful song bringing others to tears makes me feel better! My heart breaks when I think of young Mary, holding her beautiful baby....and I have to wonder: how much DID she know?

I wrote similar thought in a poem 34 years ago. As I joyously held my infant son in my arms, in the best of conditions. Made me wonder how Mary must have felt to hold a King to keep him warm.

I have always loved this song, from the first time I heard it. I have often thought it would be a great song to share for Mother's Day. I recently had my women's group to my home for a Christmas brunch. I used this song as part of our devotional. In preparing for this, I got a lot of great info from Rick Renner's series- "Christmas : The Rest of the Story." He did one whole episode on Mary. I shared the video of a "younger" Mark Lowry (LOL) singing it with the Gather Band. It is so powerful. You could feel The Holy Spirit through the screen. I finished with the version of the song done by the people who produced The Bible series that was shown a few years ago on TV. It showed Mary as she was there from the beginning of Jesus' life to the crucifixion and beyond. Our question was, "Are we willing to lay down our own lives to serve the Lord as Mary was willing to do?"

Saying that Mary did not know who Jesus was, when it is clearly stated in scripture: the angel Gabriel telling her, and her telling Elizabeth, for example, is heretical and ignorant.
