    I live in hot Texas and had to get a whole new HVAC system last year and it was recommended I used a cup of white vinegar followed by several cups of hot water each month. When I lived in Florida I used bleach.

    I'm in South Florida as well but the unit is in the Attic. I am thinking of using velcro to hold the unit along with the 3M adhesive.
    Lets hope this invention works and will save all of so many headaches

    • @allamericandiy1310

      That could definitely work. You could also add a bead of clear caulk around all sides of the mounting plate after you stick it on with the included 3M tape. That may hold it in place too. Just an idea.

    Dear Neighbor, I live in Naples. I need to have HVAC man come 3 or 4 times a year and hook up a wet vac to suck the sludge out of the line. I look forward to hearing the results. Right now my solution is to pour a little bleach down the line every few weeks, and occasionally I do use my own wet vac.

    • @allamericandiy1310
      @allamericandiy1310  4 місяці тому

      I feel your pain my friend. I have to do the same with this HVAC. I found an alternative to using a wet vac or calling out an AC company for the clogged line as I started using a co2 cartridge gun. I previously posted a video on that. Seems to clear out that sludge better than a wet vac…
      We’ll see how this iFLO works. Other than change the filter, I’m not going to do any maintenance on it until the summer is over. Then, I’ll do another review and take apart my unit to see if there’s any sludge in the tray or line. Fingers crossed.

    I had been thinking about this idea myself a few years back and was told by AC guys that they have an electric drain pump solution as an option and I was thinking why the heck in our modern decade this flushing the line crap was NOT automated???? A stupid meatball tedious task to automate a flush drip. DUH. I swear the industry just liked an excuse to come out to your place for a stupid easy A/C tech call and charge you to "flush the toilet". Every A/C company design should include this into the build. It just makes simple simple sense and to not have it is just very dumb meatball Fred Flintstone design in this modern day and age of technology with AC units just so to purposely clog for A/C tech call visits to come to your house.

    Thanks for the review. I live in the Florida Keys and also have to clean my AC drain line a few times per year. I just ordered two units but realized you said it had to be 18inches above the drain pipe. My air handlers are installed laying on their side because of the limited space in my attic and don't have 12 inches above the the drain pipe. hmmmm

    I watch a professional Heating and Air Conditioning contractor UA-cam channel. He pour vinegar in the drain, where the drain pump is and pumps into the drain. The condenser pump tank gets slimy. So, I can buy gallons of white vinegar at the warehouse club for a few dollars. I put a cup or so in my drain by the pump every 6 months.

    So, just for everyone that does not know (We had a meeting about this, YESTERDAY MORNING (5/8/2024/);
    1) The retail product that you bought online or anywhere else. That is the retail version. Whats the difference? It is more dilluted.
    2) Retail product only has a 90 day warranty.
    3)iFlo PRO has 1 year warranty.
    4) THAT bottle is only meant for 3 months.
    P.S. you are doing a review on a RETAIL PRODUCT. Its like saying "HEY. I BOUGHT A UV LIGHT FROM AMAZON AND IT SHOULD BE JUST AS GOOD AS ANY UV LIGHY FROM ANY AC COMPANY.....RIGHT?!"
    Im waiting for the results. But youre doing a reciew on somethig that is DILLUTED and does NOT HAVE the entire thing that is promoted.

      @allamericandiy1310  4 місяці тому +1

      I appreciate the reply! So just to be clear, in order to get the more concentrated solution, we would need to order the unit from an AC company? Which means we’d have to pay their cost and labor? Damn. Hopefully the retail version does the trick.

    I have a question that I guess would be for the company itself. They advertise it can go on any configuration air handler or furnace. Vertical or horizontal applications. You mentioned that the bottle base and feeder needs to be installed 18" above the drain line. In a horizontal application the whole air handler is about 22" wide. So in a horizontal application you have nowhere near 18" above the drain line? If thats the case you'd need to install some kind of post or something to install the feeder on correct? I am retired now but was an HVAC technician/Service/Operations manager for 30 years and live near Savannah GA so ours runs allot also. All summer about 7 or 8 months and this is a great invention. Cant believe I never thought of it.😂.

    • @allamericandiy1310
      @allamericandiy1310  4 місяці тому +1

      I wish I could answer you on that but I think you’re right when you say that’s a question for the company. I believe the dispenser is gravity driven, meaning the solution needs to be high enough to gain enough velocity to travel backwards into the pan. I can’t find any info on if that’s accurate or not though. I would think you’d need some sort of pump to get enough flow for a horizontal mount.

      You were in the business so you must know a system that uses this type of solution is available for large commercial systems. I was going to make my own DIY system but came across this in one of the big box home improvement stores just today. Living in South Florida I have had clogs in the past. Yes they happen at the worst time. Since having a new system installed 2 years ago I have been dumping coil cleaner down the drain line monthly.

      Mine appears to be holding very strongly. However, my unit is in a closet, not an attic. I’m thinking you could put a bead of clear caulk around the perimeter of the mounting plate. That might hold it in place should the adhesive fail from the heat. Just an idea….

    • @Logo7022
      @Logo7022 2 місяці тому +1

      Looks like they prevent you from being able to do that. It is dispensed through the app and it know what's in the bottle. Every bottle has to be registered. And when it's empty, it tells you go buy a new bottle and all feature in the app are disabled.

      @allamericandiy1310  3 місяці тому

      So far so good. I haven’t had to do any maintenance on my unit other than replace the filter. True test for me will be if this thing keeps my unit clear of slime for a whole summer.
      As far as rigging it up to use bleach or anything other than their proprietary solution, I can’t say for sure. The solution bottle has a specific cap that screws into the unit. The app keeps track of when the solution is empty and requires you to scan a QR code from a new bottle to register it before installing it. I don’t know if replacing the solution with something different before installing it would matter or not.

    I have a major question ????
    Everybody is claiming it connects into the drain line.
    But if you know EC systems, you know that the LG begins in the condenser PAN !!
    Why is this product not being piped into the pan area ??
    I believe this product should be put in the pan area and and I personally like to know is anyone else putting it into the pan ??
    and if so, how was your results or maybe it causes corrosion of the aluminum or copper parts and this is why it’s the direction don’t say anything about stopping the algae at the source of the problem

    • @allamericandiy1310
      @allamericandiy1310  4 місяці тому

      Great question! I have a buddy of mine who’s on the fence about buying one of these for that exact reason (he’s just waiting to see how mine works out).
      So, inside my horizontal drain line, where the clear hose connects, is a right angle rubber grommet (comes with the unit) that forces the solution back into my pan. From there, it exits back down the line along with the excess water that accumulates.
      I have one more dispense scheduled for 6/17 before I have to install another solution bottle. I’ll take the front panel off my hvac and film the dispense and create another video about it. I’ll also discuss a few other things too….
