    You had a lot of dirt that was loosened up by the chemical and thats what clogged the line. You have to start with a completely clean system. Iflo will keep you clean from that point forward. I'm going on almost two years. I have one of the first batch units.

    I installed a Tee on my drain line and 2 quarter turn valves. The valves are on either side of the Tee. The Tee is my high point vent on the line. I block in the drain side of the Tee. I then remove the cap on the high point vent and pour in 16 oz solution of 50-50 bleach and water letting is sit for 2-3 minutes. I then open the drain line and watch the liquid flow down the drain. I then refill with 16 oz of water 2 times to flush. If either side is plugged I use my shop vac to clear the drain side then the A/C side through the high point vent. let me know if you need a picture or drawing.

    I'm glad I found your video. I live in Southeast Texas, a very similar climate w/extreme heat and humidity, and was just about to buy one of these. Looks like it's been 2-3 months since your update video - have you had any more plugged lines w/the extreme option installed? It baffles me why there's not a good solution to this problem yet.

    When was the last time your AC drain line clogged and drain pan overflowed? A clogged drain line won't shut down your AC. Iflow is just a drain line cleaner. You can use bleach to clean the drain line. Most of the time drain lines don't really clog. If you don't have access to the AC drain pan then Iflow could be an option but it is expensive. If you do install Iflow and run out of the cleaner just fill the bottle with bleach.

    • @allamericandiy1310
      @allamericandiy1310 2 місяці тому

      If you’re wanting to shut the tank off, you could just turn off the breaker. That means you won’t have hot water when you get home until you turn the breaker back on and wait for the water to heat back up though. I guess it depends on how long you’re going on vacation. I leave mine on so the water stays hot. That will prevent me from waiting until the tank heats the 50 gallons of water in it. I wouldn’t turn off the valves though….

      No…those panels on the front of the tank are where the heating elements are. Definitely don’t touch those. Your breaker would be located inside your home’s circuit breaker box. But if you’re only going away for a week, there’s no need to turn it off…

    The majority of clogs will happen in the trap since that is where condensate water sits for long periods of time. You would be better to buy and install an EZ Trap. It comes with a brush that you can use to easily clean out the trap occasionally. They are only like $15-$20 and you won’t have to buy refills. They also have a version with a shutoff switch built in to shut the unit down in the event that a clog does happen. That will at least prevent a massive water overflow issue.

I'm wondering if the solution is actually working but when the sludge on the bottom of the pipe is removed from the solution, that the remaining sludge on the bottom and sides of the pipe are eventually dropping and causing a different clog down the line.

      Although I haven’t tried to refill an empty bottle, it appears they thought of that when they designed this. Each bottle comes with a QR code that has to be scanned into the app in order to register it. The system will then know that the bottle is empty. I don’t know if at that point, you could drill a hole in the bottle, fill it with vinegar, and then manually dispense it from that point forward….i don’t think the system will automatically dispense it for you though. It’ll still recognize the bottle as empty. Definitely an experiment I’ll try when my current bottle runs out.

      @@allamericandiy1310 I’ve been looking at buying things that make a home easier to maintain and own. Recently cleared out the condensate drain line with vinegar and baking soda (not mixed together obviously). First I poured the baking soda and water mix down the drain line. It had made a sort of plug down the line then I added vinegar and went outside with my portable vacuum. Attached it to the drain and it pulled the plug and moved a huge mass of goo out and the entire line drained after that. It’s been a week and haven’t had a single issue like I was getting at all. I should’ve recorded it, it was so satisfying to watch that gunk blow out the line.
